Fecking meat eaters!!!!!! Aye, happy birthday btw. In terms of the match tomorrow, I hope it goes ahead would be a shame to have a game cancelled when on such a good run. Not sure what team will go out. McCalls been very shrewd the last couple of games, it's very hard to tell what he will do. I hope big Gunnar goes out with confidence tomorrow and can put a good shift in. We really need one of our permanent keepers to find a bit of form and confidence in order to see us through till May. It'll settle the crowd a bit and therefore be less tense in the stadium wen we are on the defensive. I've never rated John Hughes as a manager, for me he has a touch of the Malpas about him. I'm hoping that his appointment sees ICT loosen their grip on the top 4 places a bit. But they do have some decent players. I'm thinking we could see a 2 - 1 victory or a 2 - 2 draw.
-
I'm an ST holder but didn't make the game due to similar reasons.
-
If we can get 3 points against ICT McCall should be given the freedom of Motherwell, the freedom to walk into everyone's hoose uninvited. Wasn't at the match but it sounds like it was an outstanding performance. Great to see Ainsworth now up to speed, his goal count is mounting.

One important aspect of the recent uplift is that the midfield have started scoring. That's Lasley, Vigurs, ZFA and Ainsworth all chipped in recently.
-
And then Vigurs scored. Mon the 'Well.
-
I'd bring Hutchison back and also consider swapping Vigurs for Lawson/Carswell. Having said that, how can you argue about a team that won 5 - 1. Maybe drop ZFA and play Anier in that position with Sutton and Faddy up top, possibly move Carswell up into Vigurs position and bring Hutchison into defence.

We really need to think about the goalkeeping situation. It appears to be the case that McCall prefers Twardzik rather than Neilsen. And given the fact he seemed to be a bit conflicted about naming a definitive best out of Neilsen and Hollis, with Hollis seemingly just edging it, it might be the case that Twardzik is also preferred over Hollis. So something needs to be done there. This whole reevaluation should include consideration of Ross Stewart. Hammel is a definite yes for me. I believe we are lucky to have a player of his commitment, professionalism and ability consistently turning out for us. My thoughts on Lasley are similar to above, and I might risk being clouded with sentimentality with him as I really like him as a player and captain. But I do think he has something still to offer us. So I'd offer him an extension. It'd be great to re-sign Hutchison but I just can't see it happen. He has been yet another great young player who has given the best part of 6/7 years service so if he leaves I would wish him all the best. I'd just hope he doesn't go to a rival - he needs to move upwards not down. McFadden and McManus in paper as names and past glories yes. McFadden has certainly been indifferent this season bit yesterday's performance has brought about a good bit of hope. If he can continue performing like that then yes. I like McManus and if we are to loose Hutchison it would be a bit unfortunate to see him leave as well, we'd need to rebuild our central defence. So in general, sign everyone if possible, but the keeper situation needs a bit of an autopsy because it's been a bit bizarre having two first team keepers of a similar level with neither 'apparently' convincing the manager that one is better than the other. And to bring in a loanee youngster from Dundee who seems to have ousted one of those two keepers is a bit of slight on the signing process in the summer.

Girl.

Cheers. I felt like a bit of a bastard checking out the score at half time, but it was worth seeing the 3-1 score line at that point. 12 clear of 6th, amazing. And to be fair to McCall there wa a few things in the line up that made me wonder, but the manager has done it again. Well done to the team and the staff. Be interesting to see how the goalkeeper situation pans out.

Great result. Magic. Plus my wife gave birth at 5.29pm. Rounded off a magic day. Mon the well.

Thistle aren't a bad team. Last match at Fir Park I thought the double barreled left back was very good (something-Fletcher). They have a decent keeper too, but they can't score for shit apparently. My collegue is a Thistle ST holder and he likes the way they play but he says they really struggle to score. They are getting dangerously close to that playoff place so they will be desperate for a win. I feel a 1 - 1 draw coming on.
-
Great result for us. Fucking love it.

This is a fair point. In the matches I've seen this season the player on the ball hasn't had many options as an outlet. The most frustrating element of the early part of the season for me was young ZFA struggling to recognise the space and gaps around him. This meant our midfield struggled to make a forward pass to him at times. You could hypothesise that even if he did move into the spaces, would the midfield have had the vision to see the pass. But giving options at least helps move things forward. If Ainsworth does hit form it will be interesting to see how Vigurs performs as a creative midfielder.

Amen.

Because I've held my tongue until now.

Hibs 0 - 1 Motherwell (Anier) 3 points Motherwell 2 - Kilmarnock 1 (Anier, Surton) 3 points Dundee Utd 2 - Motherwell 2 (Anier, Ainsworth) 1 point Kilmarnock 0 - 2 Motherwell (Sutton, Anier) 3 points Motherwell 3 - 0 St. Mirren (Anier 2, Ainsworth 1) 3 points Aye send the boy back home. Can't be doing with a striker that scores.
-
Aye, can you start a new poll every week Dave.
-
Ummmm. Good day to ask this question.
-
Definitely, no.
-
Weather in Glasgow has been brutal for hours. Expect Motherwell is the same. If the game is on - it'll be an old school cock-fight.
-
Was it that long ago!!! Fuck sakes. Someone was clearly round my house when I was at the game.
-
My wife is due a new bairn in 8 days. It'll be 4 days by the time this game comes. But I'm going. 2 - 1 to us I reckon. We sometimes struggle against St. Mirren at the Ark. Mind Faddy struck that cracking free kick at the end of the match last season to make it 2 - 2. I feel it in my foreskin, 2 - 1 Motherwell.
-
Dundee Utd look pretty immense just now. If they can keep those key players (and it looks like the real talented ones have been signed on new/longer deals) they could be the "best of the rest", as the media puts it, for a few years. It's just transition time for us just now. And big Sutton is better than Higdon. There. I said it. Plus he is handsome as fuck.

Big Davie. Good Newmains lad.
