Any win whatsoever for me. I'm just hoping to count down six more wins this season as I think that should be enough to keep us up. Hopefully this is one of six.

I'm in the camp who think relegation would be a bad thing, not quite a complete disaster, but it'd certainly lead to a period of concern, especially if it took more than two seasons to reappear in the top flight. Not only that, but once back in the top flight, we'd no doubt be favourites for the drop like most newly promoted teams are. So we'd need to be strong enough to remain there, all in all, a difficult task for a team of our size. But, looking at this season. On paper (yes I know) I've no doubt that our team has enough SPFL Premiership talent to avoid relegation but it seems that we are having a helluva time a) getting them fit, b) getting them motivated and c) keeping them in both those places. On top of that we have seen some odd tactical decisions/player selections (such as the Dom Thomas scenario and the persistent use of the continued worst offenders of points a + b). We really have been our own worst enemy this season. And fortune (with regards to injuries) has truly fucked us. I really hope the introduction of the new guys and assistant manager sorts out the confidence and malaise issues surrounding the team. We need to start winning from Saturday. Every game now has to be viewed as a cup match. I reckon we need 6 wins, maybe more, maybe less, it all depends on how Ross County and St Mirren do, but I'd rather not rely on them to be equally shite. If we get to the end of the season in 10th or higher then season 2015/16 by default due to contracts has to see a massive clear out and overhaul. That'll help give a fresh start to the manager and the fans.

I didn't expect the GM role to be that encompassing. So he's doing more than I'd originally thought.
-
Well the fact he is noted as being one of 4 on a panel involved in the manager interview process, is our European Association rep and talks to guys like Lawell, gives the insight.
-
Hope he's enjoying it. It is a bit of a surreal rise to probably the dream job outwith actually being a player. The article does shed a wee bit of light into the foregoing argument in here about what the job role entails i.e. "general manager (in effect chief executive).

No fucking idea about line up. Which might be a good thing. 2 - 1 us.

Laing off.

The crackpot who posts on here is 100% at the wind up. No doubt.

I got 47. Fucking Maurice Ross!

Thought I'd give this thread a bump up because they're are a few threads talking about relegation and comparisons to the team of last season. I think this thread bridges the gap of last season and now best in terms of how we felt we did last season and how we feel we would do this season. I think most had us somewhere between 2nd and 8th.

McManus has turned into an extra in the video footage of goals conceded this season. A bit like that black guy on Eastenders in the market. He's just a guy you see hanging around our box in an amber top.

I'm not one for panicking or making rash judgements. But I have to admit to at least to myself, and then this forum as a reflection to the original post that this current 'team' resemble very little in the way of a professional football team who are committed or passionate about plying their trade. In terms of talent, I thought some had it, but this season they are not just showing in the odd match, but in every match bar none, that they either don't have, or they don't think they should share it with Motherwell FC and their supporters for this season. I can understand Lasley declining slightly due to age. But guys like McManus and Ramsden - they shouldn't be as bad. Then there is Ainsworth. He reminds me of the guy at school who was good, but not as good as he thought, which led to him thinking he could shy out of a shift. Could all this be attributed to a combined lack of fitness and confidence? I don't know. What I do know is comparing the starting 11 this season to last season and thinking that inherently means it'll come good is complete folly. History won't show that, history will show a plummeting of fortunes and that's all. I hope to fuck we stay up. A club the size of ours, with what id call an already fragile support size, can't afford to go down. PS: Did we alter player bonus payments of anything?

They also have Anier now who came on tonight against St.Mirren. I also think 3 or 4 to United without reply.
-
I watched a bit of the St Mirren match and they look half decent, certainly much better than us. So I'm a bit concerned now. I think St. Mirren will soon be in tenth place. Each time I see us I see nothing other than the same mistakes, the same lethargy, the same jokers pulling a wage for the opposite of what they are supposed to do. All of which gives me no hope whatsoever.

Ainsworth shouldn't play for Motherwell again. If he turns up in the starting eleven on Saturday I'll be shocked.

Didn't realise Lasley has a broken toe...

Personally I wouldn't be too disappointed with Vigurs moving on. He hasn't achieved enough during his time with us in my view. That may be due to us playing a style which doesn't suit him. Whatever the reason, I think the wage could be better used on someone who fits the bill of getting involved in a relegation dog-fight for the next 4 months. One advantage at least is that it's a non-SPFL team being talked about for his move. Gets right on my tits when an old player comes back to haunt us. EDIT: There are others is have out the door before him, Kerr, ZFA, Ainsworth. But it might be the case that Vigurs is viewed as our only asset that someone else will take in exchange for someone that is required for the next 4 months worth of battling it out.

Happy with that.
-
Id say a reasonable chance.

United have a lot of talented players and I think he could be a useful addition to you. I don't watch enough of United to know how they play but a strike force of Ciftci, McKay-Steven (if he stays), Anier with Armstrong in behind sounds good to me.

Larry David?

^ that. We've no idea (well at least I'll admit to not knowing) what Flows job is, what he is supposed to do on a regular basis or otherwise. I reckon the criticism stems from two things 1) people know him from here, 2) he is the only face of the business that seems to appear or get name dropped in the media. The directors of the company should lead by example. I haven't seen someone come out other than flow and give updates on things. That's a weakness from the directors not flow.

I enjoy Ya Beezers numbers. It's the only way to truly quantify something.

That was pretty diabolical viewing. Imagine going into work this morning after that. Sitting down in the chair in a room along with your team mates and watching it back to go over the points. You'd be sitting there with a rid neck. And there's nowhere to look other than at yourself and at your team mates because if they're all in the room there's no one outside it to blame. The number of attempts Dundee had in comparison to our one, it's criminal. Given some of these players were in a very successful and good 2012/13 team and a team which at least managed to compete in 2013/14 (remember the 5-1 scudding we have Thistle on the 29th January), how in fucks name can they free-fall so spectacularly in such a short and non-eventful period of time to this level of utter disjointed, lethargic, idiotic and incoherent pish.
