Just voted!!! If you get a chance gie Scotland a quick vote as they have been nominated in the Best International Section and I noticed both Hearts and Rankers are up for the Best Away shirt so I felt compelled to vote for Hull City instead.. :wallbash:

Motherwell Football Club demand Trust Board Change. Couldnae resist it..........
-
Anyone watch this game on telly and putting the result aside were you impressed by how Southend played the ball on the pitch at all times and even when under immense pressure when they did get possesion back they held the ball up played it back up the park through the midfield on the deck at all times. Reminded me of how we played last season and how if you have the players with the ability and fitness to pass and keep moving you can really give the big boys a fright.
-
Would luv another season out of him and just imagine what we could do with someone settled and working alongside him. Sadly if we still have him next season it probably meant he had a stinker for the final three months of this season and no one wanted him.....
-
Actually now I think about it, in the past when this has happened the game has been played on the next Cup date. So it might mean it's rescheduled for Sat the 7th Feb and we play our 4th Round game with the 5th round match moved to next available midweek spot. So its either the 27th/28th or straight to 7th Feb.
-
looks like the 27th/28th Jan as no SPL midweek games are scheduled for that week.

Weather forecast for Inverurie covering the next 10 days. As worried now about the rain/snow making the pitch unplayable more than anything the returning frost might do!
-
Fat Tony - thanks for the link and IMHO didn't McGhee sound quite positive and upfront in that interview and open that the Utd game is all or nothing if we are to seriously challenge for 3rd/4th place. Back on topic, the interview also confirmed for me that we will not be spending ANY money in the transfer window except for the trialists and maybe a loan or two if it comes off. If thats the case I'd maybe change my mind and keep Porter and worry about next season next season!!
-
But thats the point, we do need money otherwise I dont see how outside the trialists we are going to get new blood in.. Boyle is not going to bankroll new signings and we dont have much of value in the current squad to sell. Unless Rangers want fat Boab back lol.....

St Mirren were lucky enough to tie that deal up almost 3 years ago and got top cash for Love Street and it's Tesco's that have taken the hit as the land is now worth a fraction of what they paid for it. Which is why they are looking at downsizing the size of the planned store and building more flats on the site as well to recoup some of that lost money. Would love to get a similiar deal for FP but with Asda down the road it just wont happen and no one is going to build us a new stadium in part exchange!!!
-
Agree he is the only bloke up front that even seems to know the general direction of the goals but as a squad we have serious issues in every area and work on all those problems needs to start in this transfer window. As for Fir Park, it's worth nowhere near what you think as development land and probably half of what it was worth 3 years ago. The whole Ravenscraig development is going to introduce thousands of new homes and cheap land for business to move onto with the aim of creating as many new jobs as possible. All this on the door step of FP and over the next few years there is no demand for the sort of new development that would have seen us raise the maximum cash possible for a new stadium. Out timing is just sh!te and IMHO i'd rather drop the whole craig idea until the world goes back to normal and concentrate on trying to put together a strong squad that we can retain and challenge for that 3rd/4th spot every season.
-
Mon_da_well & Neil - balancing the books is no bad thing for a club our size and if we are serious about "Ravenscraig" then our finances better look good on paper. (not for this thread but the whole 'craig thing could see us back in administration if we're not careful). If this was 12 months ago then I would agree that it would be better to have the goalscorer on the books but I just don't see us challenging for the 4th spot this season, so let McGhee get on with building his squad for next season - afterall, he forgot to do it for this season!! Common sense though does say that I'd rather have no cash than sell him to H**rts and watch him become some badge kissing tosser do damage against us every time we see him back at FP.
-
Have to agree with Suprawell. If we can get any ££££ for Porter then we must take it now. It at least gives us the chance to do something constructive with the cash and maybe get a new face settled in the squad before next season, accepting the fact that this season is a write off!!!
-
Who's idea was this cos it's actually a very good un if the club keeps to its word with some exclusives, special competitions, etc..... Signed up.
-
All the Trialists already mentioned make both good football and business sense for us. No point going into debt to sign some big name numpties desperate for a contract. What McGhee does in this transfer window and for the rest of the season with those signings will pretty much be how a lot of us will rate him as a Motherwell manager!
-
Just highlights what a farce it is when it comes to planning fixtures as whether or not the two teams are in the SPL or not, it should be easy to keep both teams from being at home on the same weekend. Although I suppose after they have done that for both the old scum they don't give a toss about the rest! This is the bollox you get when you have so many entities running the game - SFL, SFA, SPL, SFJA, etc......
-
Sounds like this could be some good reading. Any idea of the launch date?

There is nothing worse than being bored at work!

Have to agree that Cooper is a "football legend" whilst say Pettigrew is without doubt a "Well Legend". For many its the blokes that remind them of a certain period in history like your first few seasons at Fir Park and you attach to a particular player and they always stay in your memory. Or as some has said the 91 cup team, but are they really all Motherwell legends, in 20 years time it will always be the same 3 maybe 4 names always quoted. Would argue if Faddy is really a legend yet or really just the best we have seen at Fir Park in a while and if he doesnt start to turn it on soon with Birmingham and with Scotland then he will soon be forgotton. And if you consider Faddy a legend then what about skippy as he was able to turn it on when he felt like it but at the end of the day he was just the best we had at the time (although words can't be used to describe the little fat badge kissing @rsehole now). And you dont become a legend just because you played 300 games as at the end of the day you are being paid to do a job and I have turned up for work everyday for the past 10 years but no one else in the office considers me to be a "legend" (apart from me!!). For pure entertainment value many might rate big Sieb as a Motherwell legend as although he only played say 80 games he was great with the fans and he is still spoken about today by many who saw him. After all that, my vote goes to Dougie Arnott who IMHO meets all the criteria to be considered a Motherwell legend.
-
Just voted and I reckon the mob who are in the lead are fiddling the results by using multiple email addresses and registrations!!!! Anyone suprised we are on this list? Not exactly the most beautiful strip we have ever come up with, although we would have walked it with the "jester" strip!!
-
For me it is much more than just who was the most skillful but you must combine that skill with having the Well in yer heart!! So its a tie with Dougie, Phil and Mr Pettigrew.
-
Done. Could be very interesting so thank to Caroline.

Time to cancel the setanta then!!
