  1. mightbe a bit premature in saying this but i reckon if you look at the current SPL table and swap rangers with hibs, that might not be far off how the table will look at the end of May albeit hearts might not be that pish.
  2. johnstones team is spot on, hopefully st johnstone's isnt and we tear them a new hole.
  3. Gannon will have them fired up like never before and im confident we'll come out the blocks with a first half that could put us out of sight. 3-0 well at half time. maybe end up 3-1. Sutton, Forbes (2)
  4. gdalli10 i'd be inclined to agree with you but there's always people who'll shoot you down for being over confident. Delboyd is spot on Hearts did it, we did it before them, i think both of us have a shot this year... in McGhee's first year we had a chance to overtake rangers on boxing day but never capitalised and the events which followed that game ultimately had a bearing on the rest of the season. With this batch of young players who aren't at all afraid to have a go i see no reason why we cant capitalise on a pair of weak OF teams. And a cup run would be fantastic, our failure in the cups has been a blessing in disguise in recent years... if Malpas had beat St JOhnstone and taken us to the semis we could have been stuck with him, same with McGhee last year. Hopefully Jim Gannon's revolution will incorporate some days out to Hampden
  5. banjaxed aye maybe the wheels will come off at some point but i think it just takes the ambition to do it and Csaba definitely has that, hopefully Jim will too once he gets to know the players strengths a bit better. I know we can get ahead of ourselves a bit but we've got nothing to fear from the rest of the dross in the league
  6. I wouldn't say hearts are much weaker, Laszlo's made a few decent signings but perhaps hasn't replaced the quality he has lost. i think their lack of a recognised striker will be their weakness. I don't see Dundee Utd as the force they seem to be recognized as, they seem to be forever plagued with injuries and ALWAYS seem to burn out... As long as Gary Kenneth has a place we should be able to repeat last season's 4-0 mauling Celtic to run away with it, Hearts and Motherwell to find themselves either side of rangers, who ends up where depends on luck and the head to heads. Dundee utd there or there abouts and Hibs or Killie to get the last top 6 spot. the rest of them will fight it out to avoid relegation, not so much aberdeen as Mcghee might just manage to have a similar season with them as he did with us last season. maybe not thought. Accies or St Mirren for the drop.
  7. with no spending from rangers i think this could be the year someone splits the old firm. Csaba laszlo certainly seems confident. And once we see how the start of the season goes and Gannon has the chance to strengthen in the areas that need to be i think we could challenge to. but its a big maybe. We say it all the time but no-ones scared to have a go at the old firm these days. we were the last side to split them before hearts and from what i've seen so far from Gannon's side, there isnt a team we couldnt beat- comfortably so. I shall, however, see how optimistic i am come saturday at 5pm.
  8. I think we're pretty well placed for a good season, compared to the other main top 6 contenders i think we're going to score much more goals and from all over the place. Sutton and Murphy work really well together and McHugh looks like he's gonna pester defences and have a go at players, in a wayne rooney kind of way. Outside the attackers Slane and Forbes are always looking for a pop at goal (quite spectacularly as we've seen already) and even the centre-backs Reynolds and Hutchison are having a go. Night and Day compared to McGhee's side last year. Compare that to Hearts who dont have a real striker of any description (case in point, Callum Elliot's injury is a disaster for them ) and the goal scoring midfielders are gone. Craig Levein at united is having even more problems with forwards this season and Hibs have lost Fletcher and seen Riordan fall out of favour. And needless to say Muttley doesnt have a clue
  9. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/football/spl/...86908-21581917/ Gannon on the record site; sounds like we've got some games lined up for this week: would be good to see the under 19s tear some lesser team to shreds to get the confidence up.
  10. probably would've fancied our chances against them. easier than Nancy at this stage last year?
  11. forbes and coke were standouts, ross just shading it with the goal... he won everything he went in for and those two could be magic together this season. J'OB deserves a mention too but he got caught out at the back a little too often. Great show from all the boys.
  12. Slane's goal had mcfadden written all over it... this kids the next big thing
  13. just heard strachans left celtic
  14. He played great, wouldn't look out of place in that position every week.
  15. yeh his set up for clarky's goal in the accies game in february was class. great asset to the club i reckon.
  16. I'd be interested to know how many goals paul quinn has set up this season, albeit he can be a bit sloppy with some passes he's got some cross on him.
  17. what are the chances that WE get to relegate someone?
  18. I wish folk would get off McGhees back, this is the guy everyone loved last season but just cos a few players have under peformed at times we haven't got the same results or breaks as last season. Big deal. roll on next season with a decent pitch and maybe a couplle of new signings and it'll be the best motherwell side in 41 years
  19. win or lose a one off game would be awesome. preferably a win though
  20. i reckon if we win this saturday, a lot of people who come along at a fiver will want to come back for the post split fixtures. A good first experience is everything. I took one of my pals to the st johnstone quarter final, and that was pish so he promises never to come back. I took my girlfriend to the accies game the other month and she cant wait to come back. just shows the difference a win makes!
  21. beating aberdeen 2-1 last season?
  22. mcCurry was the referee in the inverness game a couple of months back, he handled it pretty well. Hopefully the same will be true on saturday, along with a similar result:)
  23. Whats the words to the new klimpl song? cant quite make it out but it was gettin belted out in inverness! doesnt even get boring either!
