Gannon WILL bring 5 or 6 new faces at least. MMG's (who was he again???) failing as a boss was the ability to recognise suitable players for our club within our wage structure. That is why he struggled so much to add to our squad in both his seasons and the "only wanting players better than we had" was simply an excuse he used to cover this up as can be seen by our signings last summer who hardly started many games before xmas

You say that the players had the upper hand in this but who allowed it to happen when our squad was already so threadbare? there was a big posibility that MMG was leaving this summer. It was well known that Jimmy C was not going to get another year at aberdeen and MMG knew that wgs was leaving celtic at easter. Has MMg really been trying that hard to sign up the boys whose contracts were to run out this summer or to lengthen the likes of quinn or dc's? . so far MMg has been linked with taking hughes, klimpl and possibly mclean to the dons, as well as Jim P on loan from plymouth and there was talk before the tv deal went t*ts up that they might put a wee feeler bid in for DC. i know he is not totally to blame but he must shoulder some of it cos he took his eye off our ball same as last summer

but MMG solved that problem for us by letting so many contracts run out. I feel the exact opposite from the oppening poster. This new season has the added element of the unexpected with a new gaffer and new players to join us on our rollercoaster a euro place 3 years in the row by this time next season, altho maybe not as early a start

maybe the new manager has already been decided but he has asked for a transfer pot for some players he has already identified? Selling DC and quinn might be our way of financing the replacements needed for our squad. looks like next season may start like Kampman's season and we have to guess who the players are in the first games we go to

you would be right most seasons but this year most out of contract players will jump at the first contract they are offerred imo

well that would mean a million pound kitty for the new manager as surely an international striker and an experienced , but still young, fullback should command that sort of figure.
