Yep, indeed A wee trial of away fans in the eaever cooper maybe? See how the opinions change...
-
I'd be stabbing my eyes out if it was Main and Cosgrove up front. Both very 'purple patch' strikers. They better hope they dovetail nicely.
-
Add O'Dea to that list...
-
As expected I'd say and good for clarity on Tanner too.
-
Tait was injured, signalled to the bench. So someone had to go there. Between Aryibi, Gillespie, Turnbull and Donnelly for me. Went for Gillespie in tbr end as he did it for more of the 90 than the others.
-
Must have just been me but I thought Donnelly had a really good game before getting shifted to left back. A couple of stray passes but apart from those he shielded the defence really well and moved the ball well. If you expected Gorrin like play then that was just daft. But I thought he did the job well. One of his diagonals in the first half was an absolute beauty. I say all of that as a paid up member of the 'he is nowhere near good enough' club too. He could offer something as cover at defensive mid I think. But not a good enough left back or centre back at this level. As for the rebuild....looking forward to it!

Aldred off to Brisbane Roar now being reported (Various sources)
-
Chucking it out there. Who would have Bigi back at end of the season? Would he perhaps fit well in the new formation?
-
I'm absolutely lost. New lad is called shite by current club fans on social media, and some of those a bit closer to the club as well concur? That's about it is it not?
-
I might be greedy but I wouldn't cash in at 2m
-
We can do it again I reckon. It will be tight though. Mon the well!

Yes, I think yesterday showed how important in that system Gorrin is. With McHugh (who I thought had his best game for months actually) more limited than Gorrin it really showed from a creative sense. Carl can't turn on the ball or make those short attacking passes like Gorrin can. So in turn it meant Turnbull playing a bit deeper to try and make things happen. It must be said though, St Mirren played a part in that as they really flooded the midfield at time to stop us playing.
-
Yep, although I think Scott chasing our wide was part of a more fluid system. But the midfielders and wide players didnt always hold up their end of the bargain to rush the box.
-
SW Yep agreed. Turnbull for Semple I was fine with. I was keen to see Semple in that number 10 thpe role. Although Turnbull was playing a bit deeper yesterday so Semple kind of had to too. Frear for Grimshaw was the odd one. I'd have put Frear on for Aryibi at that point anyway. Which would have meant no rearranging. Livingstone for Aryibi later I was fine with in isolation, to see him in a more advanced role. So perhaps that was what the Frear sub was all about.
-
Quite fancy Semple for a goal if he gets a bit more time this week. Looked right up for it last week, demanding the ball and getting into a couple good positions in his short cameo. Fully expect the same team except McHugh in for Gorrin.
-
Quite a lot say a new player has been bought to go straight into the first team
-
For me... Frear - at 28, happy for him to seek pastures new. Hes never really hit any form for any decent length of time. I like the lad but time for something new. McHugh - Also happy for him to seek employment elsewhere. Did really well and what we needed his first season. But realistically hes not good enough at this level to be a midfielder or defender. A liability red card wise too Main - I'm 50/50. I've been a fan, not so much at the moment. We want carry a striker who doesn't score goals is my view, I think. Tanner, Mbulu - Depending on fitness...maybe keep both if it's not costing much. Cadden, Turnbull, Aldred - I would like to keep. Think we will get 1 of them if lucky.
-
For me, today, if we have someone who would benefit playing in the Hastie position instead of him I'd play them and not Hastie (i.e. another young player or even an out of contract player who is still considering options but definitely hasn't said no yet like Hastie has). But only for those reasons, rather than out of spite for the fact he has signed for Rangers. Otherwise I'd play him as he can still be an asset in the push for 7th.
-
He was out since mid August and just back end of March. Really bad injury and a shame it wasted his season. Wouldn't be surprised to see him get another to prove his worth as he was one marked as a good prospect.

https://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/17586868.stephen-robinson-has-given-up-hope-of-rangers-target-jake-hastie-signing-on-for-motherwell/ Interesting to see the public comments of Robinson now changing re Hastie. Couldnt agree more at this point. Hastie a huge part in lifting us out of thr relegation area post Christmas. However, if Hastie is 100% away then it's time for someone else who will be here to play. Cadden, Gorrin, Frear definitely 3 of the 6. Making moves for Aldred and Aryibi too it would seem.
-
Alan Burrows giving some quotes re the Hastie situation. No real new news persay. But I'd never considered, maybe stupidly, that we cant actually take the contract offer off the table (I.e. give a deadline to push a decision) or we will lose the compo. https://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/17581344.motherwell-chief-defends-decision-not-to-offer-long-term-contract-to-rangers-target/

Good big player. Liked him when we played Livi at the start of the season.
-
Because he's human. A very bad injury was the main reason and a couple of bad decisions following that.

2018/19 Game 33: Rangers (H) April 7th 12.30pm Kick Off
superward replied to Yabba's Turd's topic in Club Chat
Easier said than done. Would you put it past someone from our support for example to go into the Hamilton end, chuck a pie on, then Motherwell get awarded a 3-0 win? I wouldn't. I do agree something needs to be done. However, abandoning matches and awarding wins on the spot isn't the way imo. Strict liability for the club (warning, fine, then points deductions) and also bigger punishment for the individual is the way to go for me.
