  1. I think you could quite easily devise a contract with legal consequences etc but that in itself would put people off I reckon? Do we want to go down the route? I know I probably wouldn't have signed up if I knew I had to pay every month with consequences if I didnt. Right now, if I legitimately couldn't afford it I could cancel it and set it up again in a few months with no problem. Need to weigh up the risk of someone signing up for a higher level against the probability of them using the benefits then cancelling a DD before paying it all up. For example, if you get all the benefits straight away you could sign up at £10 a month for Steel in April, buy your season ticket in May and get 5% off then cancel your membership. Club would be down money in that instance. Thats an extreme example and I would like to think the risk is not too great of it happening. However, there is a balance somewhere, just need to find it and as you say a bit of creative thinking required to provide benefits in some way rather than waiting 30 months (for Steel @ £10/pm) before getting them. EDIT: It's probably a larger risk for the more expensive memberships. Another extreme example, pay 1 x £200 month at Amber, get 30% off hospitality the next month and then cancel it. Club is potentially down. Again, probably unlikely but all needs to be considered.
  2. Another decent podcast chaps. Re Well Society membership - I think it's worth stressing the point to non members (in case it got lost in the conversation) that if you initially sign up at £10 you DO get your membership card/number and right to vote straight away. For me, that is the most important part. The benefits, as Jay was pointing out, don't come until later when you have effectively paid up the full fee for whatever membership you chose. For me, not a huge issue in the delay but good to hear that is is being looked at to come up with a way of providing some level of benefit while you are paying up. It is a hard one though as you could cancel your DD at any time so I can understand why there is not an easy answer and the reluctance to release every benefit of the next level until paid.
  3. I fancy things to click tonight and for us to win by a couple of goals. To that end I have backed us to win -1 (with a free bet...) at 6/1. So, it's a stick on now Would stick with the same team as last time. Consistency is key I think and the team are performing relatively well. I'd give Moore and Thomas some decent time if the game allows it.
  4. Great podcast. This in itself this is exactly the type of thing I think Les talks about when saying it is in our hands to make things work. Yeah, we can try and convince a mate to go but its not that easy as we all know. However, you guys had the attitude to do a podcast and then chase high profile guests which has now resulted in more Well Society members. That's a positive that has came from some pro-activity. If other fans do the same thing and make their ideas happen then things will move forward in a positive way. For me, it's not just about complaining that the club are not doing this, the WS are not doing that etc. That's easy to do and it's easy to say 'it's not my problem'. If we think something should be done better we should be challenging the club/WS but also getting of our arses and doing something about it to make sure it happens. Getting our hand's dirty if that is what is needed. That's the hard part. This isn't directed at anyone - just a general musing of which I need to take some of my own advice and help where I can over and above paying £10 a month.
  5. I had the same thought daver and also know nothing about the going rate for a head groundsman. Just out of interest, a quick wee google shows that Man City in May last year were offering a Deputy Groundsman role paying £26k-£30k (https://www.pitchcare.com/jobfinder/offered/16938). So, given the size of club we are £26k may seem about right. Dunno, but I am sure the club know the salary they need to pay to get the right person and level of experience.
  6. If it was just about the weather it's a no brainer, aye.
  7. I am split. Pros - I can see the reasoning behind the move to Summer football as we will likely get less cancellations over the piece, better pitches which may mean better quality football and there is a small chance the broadcasters will pay more. But, that is all it is...a small chance. With our current leaders I would not bet on it. Cons - On the other hand, I play golf during the summer, go on holiday during the summer and usually have more commitments at weekends to . Not saying I wouldn't go to the football but it would mean a change of lifestyle to a certain extent and I am sure I wouldn't be alone in that. But, there may be more people who can go than those who cant. I also have a slight worry about moving out of the generally accepted football calendar that England, Germany, Spain, etc use. in that our country may become even more irrelevant in european league football.
  8. Stu - No senior players to talk to the press from now until end of the season then? I am sure they are all capable of having a 2 minute conversation with the press and also being entirely focussed on the job at hand. I'd rather it was the senior as opposed to the junior members leaving the junior members to worry just about the football. In regards the actual quotes - hard to tell, like you say, with no positioning of the question. But, without reading to much into it, I'll take it as a positive either way. He also mentions the spine of the team being strong with Skippy, Pearo, himself and Long in nets. Can't really disagree with that and maybe points towards the defence being more comfortable with Long behind them than Twardzik? Possibly, also possibly not. Kilmarnock

Johnson for me. Law was a close second. Decent performances from everyone else in the team I thought
  10. Christ, enjoy the win you fucking misery.
  11. Also agree on that! He was talking Erwin through the game as well
  12. It was a 4-4-2 all day long. Good performances throughout the team. Brave to drop your top scorer but it was the right choice in my opinion as the movement and mobility of McDonald and Erwin was top class and dragged ICT all over the place at times. McDonald's link up play was excellent. Pearson was a driving force in the middle and Lasley had his best game of the season. Wing play was promising but need more from those areas and sure it will come from Johnson. Grant did well and has lovely skill but isn't a natural winger....that said he provided the cross for the goal. McManus and Laing both had good games I thought. Law was excellent at right back. Ramsden was solid but made 2 bad decisions with the tackles. Best of all everyone involved bust an abolsute gut, closed down a lot and it was great to see McManus and Lasley shouting all match All in - if we play like that for the remaining games I am sure we will stay up.

    Baraclough Out

No one most likely. That was my point. The person who posted it on here has no evidence to back the claim other than hearsay and refused to actually name them.

Again.....we dont know its McManus....speculation to add to an agenda from some. Not that I think he has been good this season but trying to take an objective view here. For example, it could as easy be Pearson. Also friends with Wilson and McManus and lives in Bothwell. Next time I see them in the street I will hang out the window of the motor and ask.

Let's take a fucking breath here for a second.... - Players pished at the weekends and feeding themselves on fry ups and chips came from someone claiming to have seen this on instagram. Personally never seen that at all and I follow a bunch of them on there. When challenged the poster never came back with names. Happy to proven wrong if they come back with actual proof -Getting mates to phone up radio shows...could equally be players confiding in their mates at how pish there job is and talking about ways it could have been made better in their opinion. Something we all do? Wilson might have then went on and bumped his gums and is now getting a toe in the baws for it.Equally could be a calculated ploy from the squad to get the media to drive the manager out... - Players going to prison...no evidence yet again to back it up. Let's not fall into the trap of believing everything that is read on here because most of it is utter fucking bilge. That said both players and manager have been utter garbage this year. This Daily Mail style gossip is just murder though.
  16. Burrow's is not his boss. How many times mist that be said on this forum. Baraclough reports directly to the board and new footballinng sub committee. Burrows is not on either.

I have seen loads of pics of ZFA, Kerr, Reid and Erwin on there. Not one of them have they looked mangled. Is it one of them? They have looked like fannies at times but couldn't honestly say they looked mangled.
  18. McManus wasn't the problem yesterday. Defence as a whole wasn't really under threat. Reading you weren't there but Dundee did not really work the goalie at all. Going forward was absolutely mince though and midfield to front a shambles.
  19. No. Because Dempster was on the board (where the manager is ultimatelybreportable tok) and Burrows isn't. He is the general manager and is now on the sales and marketing committee reporting to the board. I don't see it is a conflict or belittling his role at all because the manager does not report in to him.
  20. Its become boring talking about Burrows interviewing people after the match. Again. For the umpteenth time. We have much much much bigger problems to worry about.
  21. The whole thing, on the pitch, is fucked at the moment. That's how it feels. The only redeeming part of today is that although I had Motherwell in my coupon I put Dundee to win on a single, following Ya Bezzer's post earlier, as safety net. Cheers Ya Bezzer!
  22. I don't think they were atrocious at all - but they were not great, like I said. They didnt really have much to do in my eyes. The midfield was brutal and thats where the problem lay for me.
