We dont currently have a 'style' as its pretty much a different team from last year. I think we will be cautious, solid but not out and out defensive.
-
It's a difficult one to pick a formation that's for sure! Can't decide between the below. In both formations it's a toss up between Sutton and McHugh for me. Sutton gives us presence but McHugh as banged in a few goals.... (5-3-2) Nielsen Ramsden-Hutch-Mick-Hammell-ZFA Lawson-Lasley-Vigurs Faddy-Sutton or (4-2-3-1) Nielsen Ramsden-Hutch-Mick-Hammell Lawson-Lasley Faddy-Vigurs-ZFA Sutton

Who did you hear from? Was it someone in the club or just a mate? Not that I know any different but just wondered as I expected it to be nearer 8000 too.

Yeah I do agree with that. However, as long as it is managed with a bit of foresight over the next 2/3 yrs it shouldn't be a problem. Faddy and McManus are 1 yr deals so its not like we see them sticking around really. Too many players are written off nowadays from 30 onwards when in reality you might get a good few years from them. Quite happy if we have a core 5/6 experienced pros supplemented by youth. On Mark Wilson - can he not cover right mid, centre mid and even left back? Maybe if we cant get a decent winger its not a bad shout given size of squad?
-
I have only seen him play against Newcastle and he roamed about a bit but mainly played through the middle. Doesn't look like he would play wide right to me.

Yeah, there is someting to it it seems (in as much as it is being reported) - http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-transfer-news/transfer-talk-july-29-latest-2101916 I agree though seems weird given the players we need/don't need. That said, he is/was a good player.

It's a very good job if it has been photoshopped! Haha. Nae idea who he is or what position he plays...roll on the real football starting to take up my interest!!
-
It's definitaley not Toni Silva... This is Toni Silva -> This is the mystery Frenchman->

I reckon we'll beat them by a goal or two but also concede. 3-1 (McHugh, Faddy, Sutton) Formation is a bit of guess. I think we will go 3 at the back on Thursday but return to a back 4 for Sunday. Something like... ----------------Nielsen/Hollis--------------- --Ramsden--Hutch--Mick--Hammell-- ------Lawson--Lasley--Vigurs------------ -------------------Faddy----------------------- -------------Sutton--McHugh---------------

Aye, I couldn't work who the team were in the other pics. Also not sure if he has trialled with Chelsea or just wearing a top and posing! By the looks of it he loves a good pose with some designer gear on. Haha.
-
Seems like he is french (going from his Instagram). Was there a French trialist winger that played at Morecambe?
-
100% agree with this

Pritchard started for Charlton yesterday against Inverness so would be surprised if he is indeed training with us. According to their website he started 44 times last year too so seems like a first pick.
-
Aye, I just think as a whole we look solid not playing the wing attack game we did last year. We will struggle against teams with pace though.
-
Sutton won more headers than he lost yesterday and Faddy will get sharper as he gets games. Remember he has 1 less game than a lot of the first team. I am cautiously optimistic for the European game. We look a better defending team now in my opinion which is only a good thing. Zfa, Vigurs and Faddy will be our creators this year

Thought it was good game last night and a good workout for the team. The goalies didn't have much to do. Defence leaked the first goal but generally looked solid. Liked the looks of the McManus/Hutchison partnership, Hammell solid and Ramsden played well looking better and better at right back. A couple more games at right back and I think we will have a very good looking back 4. Midfield was shifted about from a flat 4 to a diamond however Lawson and Vigurs stood out for me. Lawson a solid mop up, hard working game with good distribution. Vigurs very composed on the ball with lovely touches. He will be our capture of the summer. Faddy showed glimpses but does look a game or so behind everyone else. Lasley solid. Attackers were a bit huff and puff all game but that was due to nature of the possession play in midfield. Sutton got to a lot of headed balls and worked hard. Though McHugh didnt really kick a ball first half but worked hard and his finish was great. Of the subs ZFA impressed most and all the other boys did well too I thought. Mentions to Kerr and Erwin for impressing. On a side note, we were sitting in the main stand behind Jamie Mackie and the new Turkish lad Forrest have signed. Mackie turned around during the first have to ask who our number 11 was as he was a cracking player. Praise from another pro can only be good!

They will all be fine. McCall's quote has been on the official site from last night... "You want to come through your last game before the European game without any serious injuries and although we had to take McManus, Vigurs and Hutchinson off, they probably all would have stayed on had it been an SPFL game and they’ll all be fit for Thursday"

I was in the same year at school - he's a good lad. Came from Uddingston and lives in Bothwell. As well as Faddy he is good friends with a few ex Motherwell boys too - David Clarkson, Stephen Pearson and Brian Dempsie. Met him a few years ago in the main stand when he was taking in a game along with Faddy to watch Clarky play. Given that and the closeness to home it might just be enough to sway him to sign.

Ach, I am not too bothered either way with the Lee Miller deal not going ahead. Decent striker but I am sure we will get a striker in who will score just as many goals as Lee would have.
-
Higdon maybe not away. Move to Barnsley dead apparently...http://www.barnsley-mad.co.uk/news/tmnw/higdon__stead_deals_dead_798354/index.shtml?
-
Why did it put you off though? Most of us email every day. Seems organised to me.
-
Maybe on today's showing in isolation but Cummins, Carswell, Higgy have all proven in the 1st team they are good enough. McHugh, ZFA also not far away.
-
Ah, just seen Joeboy posted that already!

Fast moving story...Gallacher is away to Ross County, McMillan and Dowie away to Partick!
