  1. Finally, regular football starts again today.... blind optimism, nervousness, lost coupons, won coupons, more lost coupons, tight games, easy games, shoot!, travelling away, returning home, looking at the table on a Saturday night, still retaining that 1% chance in your head that you could play for your team. SPL here we come! For the game...team picks itself Randolph Hately-Hutch-Ramsden-Hammell Humph-Lasley-Law-Murphy Ojamma-Higdon

    Everton

1/2 an hour? Jeezo, it might be a bit of an inconvenience for some but let's get a bit of perspective here chaps!
  3. A tad odd that there was no commentary but nothing to worry about I wouldn't think.
  4. It's a few more quid than I was expecting but if this is what it takes to raise some more money for the club in a season where we will have less than we thought (regardless of vote) then so be it! Get behind your club and get your hand in your pocket and invite everyone you know - let them make the decision if it is too much or not.
  5. Why does there have to be an alterior motive to every statement posted?! Maybe, like the statement says, he can't dedicate the time he needs to and is, rightly, stepping down to leave a space for someone who can!
  6. From The Scotsman: • Birmingham City defender Fraser Kerr could be set to return to Motherwell for a loan spell as he looks to gain first team football Currently in the Scotland U19 set up and was on Motherwell's books until he moved to Birmingham in 2009 when he was 16.
  7. Taken from Bert Kassies site (circa 2009 but should be broadly similar)... UEFA Supercup 2009: Loser: 2.000.000 € Winner: 2.500.000 €
  8. Think you missed my point. What I meant was that if the majority of this board was representative of the matchday support he would get pelters from the moment he stepped on the park. Not saying he will get cheered as the saviour but he will be given a chance....for a bit....
  9. That is what will happen - most Motherwell fans will give him a chance. Good luck to him. Thankfully the the majority of this board is not that representative of the majority of the support on match day!
  10. Spot on. Thank fuck nobody on here is a manager or nobody would really ever get a chance to play. Murphy's shite, Sutton's shite, Craigan's shite, Hately's shite, Saunder's shite .....it would be just one big love in with Randolph and Hutchison playing! If McCall has seen him in training and he looks like he could do a job then give him a go.
  11. I thought he had some nice touches and flick ons. If he gets a a few more starts, learns to be a bit stronger on the challende and gets some service he could work out well. Still all ifs and buts at the moment though
  12. STV Grant says on the STV website "no news from Motherwell (yet)" - so there may be something in the pipeline and not announced till signed and sealed.
  13. I would be pleasantly surprised if we did sign anyone tonight. Just seems we would have heard something more concrete. Ah well!

    Semi Final

I was sitting near him and I tell you what - he was a fucking idiot. This "hero" was the person shouting racist abuse at Humphrey half way through 1st half. Your own fans shouting that kind of stuff! Him an all his stone island pals can fuck right off. The funniest bit was seeing how all his pals went mental when he was getting carted out by the Police.
  15. Yeah, same team that started on Saturday. It had a nice balance to it. Tight one- 1-0 'Well.
  16. Not always the case is it though? Fighting in the street where members of the public are going about their business on a Saturday afternoon is fucking irresponsible. Quite happy for the morons to knock lumps out of each other - just do it somewhere else away from people who dont want to see it or be involved.
  17. Jeezo, it's not the end of the world! Annoying? Yes. A bit embarrassing? Maybe. Reason for all this gnashing of teeth? Naw.
  18. May have not explained myself properly... I would definitely like to see the youngsters given more time - very very happy for them to come on as subs, give them some decent time as well - not 5 mins, to play in the correct position (e.g. Meechan on Saturday - although that was forced). If they then punt a regular starter due to good play then all is good. Surely this is a better way to develop in the long term than starting untried kids? In my mind what we cannot have is all our hopes pinned on a youngster to fill a position for the rest of the reason - especially when we do not have a youngster who plays in that position. Needs to be a balance between the development of youth and the risk of putting too much pressure on someone and harming their development/confidence. Fitzy did give the team balance which I think worked well - but as has been said before he was not a winger. One thing I hope McCall does, and Brown didn't, is give youth a bit more time on the park per game and not just as injury time subs.
  19. Reason I am willing to accept it as a positive and give him a chance is that we do not have a left sided midfielder in the first team. Haven't had one in years! Should at the very least give it balance Halsman, Pollock, Lawless....none of them left wingers. Let's not develop our youth in positions they don't play in. We all know what our "fans" would be shouting at them after a couple of less than perfect games.....
  20. I would say that having 3 players on trial and in a bounce game today is closer to having new faces in than we were on on Saturday - which was no players on trial.
  21. Twitter again (Mark Benstead, Real Radio) : Confirms it is Cedric Collet as above and the Spanish centre half is Jaime Navarro from Real Madrid (3rd team). Link here
  22. Agree with Rickoza - why is desperate. Maybe wee Stuart has unearthed a few far flung gems!
  23. Also...http://freefootie.tv/ Need to download a wee plugin called veetle but it's fine and quality good!
  24. Assume he is at the press conference but our Real Radio Sports guy Mark Benstead just tweeted: "#Motherwell won't b renewing Alan gow's contract, decision on marc fitzpatrick next week. Not given up on getting nick blackman back." The wonder of social technology eh?
