Scottish Cup Final v Celtic (Hampden) 19/05/18 15:00

Not sure where your stats are from but most sites tell me Cadden has 5 assists and is joint 2nd in the league (Tait at 4, Tanner at 3) Docherty, Imrie and Templeton have 4 each. Docherty's 3 goals - 2 of them Accies have lost 2-1 and his 3rd was the one against us. I think Docherty is a decent player but that's about it. -
Think this is the first time Robinson has been quoted on it. Seems you are right though and the manager is only holding out a slim hope. Reading between the lines if Heneghan hasn't got a League 1 club, and we don't have a defender in come end of the window things could change.

That's yer Nadir signed. I'm off to follow him on Twitgram.

Appeal for the bantz -
I can't believe he's only 25! Aye, I'll take the Dundee Utd version please.
-
Each to their own. I've got Twitter but don't follow the players directly. I do look at the club players Twitter list and therefore have a keek every now and then though out of sheer nosiness. Some would argue discussing football players and your team on a message board regularly is more cock socket worthy than following a player on social media. Dae whit ye want I say.

I'd really really like Hartley permanently but I've always been working on the assumption it won't happen even though we've confirmed we've been talking to him On one hand, it just seems odd to move to Blackpool at age 29, then get loaned out without playing a game, to then just leave again. Probably on better wages at Blackpool I'd think and this is going to be his last 'big' contract perhaps. On the other hand he does seem to just want to play regular football and jumped at the chance of a year long anyway.

Haha, spot on. Club legend and glad he's got the new role. But by God, Stevie, 'just shy it!!'
-
Official site says 582 and post war record holder. Helluva lot of games! Well Legend, Respected, Training youth teams in the Academy already, Uefa A, Elite Youth, Pro licences done and dusted Great appointment

Now now. A former player puts a picture of himself in a well top celebrating, with an egg timer and a football on a public social media platform. His manager has said he expects him to go out on loan. It's there to be seen and commented on

You could add Chris Cadden to that list. Stick Hammell on it too for a laugh. That's us up to 5. We could have just kept Dom Thomas, Craig Moore, David Ferguson, Fraser Kerr and Jack Leitch and we'd be in youth team heaven with 10. It would be shite though. Las in nets. My point is a lot of players from the youth teams have had games and not been good enough over the piece. They need to be good enough to play.

I do agree with all of that, add in some unclucky key injuries. But there is also a smidge of stubborn team selections and potentially the wrong tactics/games plans at times. Perfect storm of crap. Here's to a good 2018!
-
One of the reasons I want us to move to a standard back 4 in 2018. Is that the back 3 format we've been running with, and was successful to a point, really restricted certain players from either being selected or playing to their best. Frear, for example, has done his best in the wingback role. But he's not brilliant at defending and was getting lost in games back there sometimes. Cadden, another example, is most useful in the wing moving forward. Not as a wing back defending or in the middle. He does fine there. But not his most influential.

Please don't rub one out ever over a player...just give them a chance. Even one game. Half a game?
-
It was a stupid thing to do. Won't be the first and won't be the last. He had a bad day and made it worse. However he's still one of our best players currently. Move on.

Link to the story and quotes, from 2013, here: https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/298678/Middlesbrough-boss-Tony-Mowbray-hails-breathtaking-Curtis-Main Seems the lad has made a very promising start to his career then lost his way a bit...sounds familiar to a departing superstar.

Disagreement on use of stats put to the side. A personal peeve of mine as you know ;-) In total agreement with your last paragraph. For me, the risk is far greater to sack him now, spend time finding a replacement, then get the players in we need and get the team ready for the Scottish Cup game in 3 weeks. Less risky, and O think he's earned the right, to get this transfer window and matches in Jan/early Feb. New singing being workwd through today from what I have read. Should be in early.
-
You know why it's selective.
-
But a run to the league cup FINAL clearly should not be ignored. Selective stats. Again.
-
Robinson seems to be happy to play ball players. But not ball players who continually fail to deliver. Hence,he has to go back to the less technical players at his disposal.
-
You've turned into a parody

Whatever anyone's opinion and conclusion...to purely look at win/loss stats and stats alone would be folly for any decision to be made on Robinson. Looked at in conjunction with the context of a very busy schedule, a lot of away games, key injuries, players not stepping up etc etc it provides a more rounded view to make the correct decision. The situation is not black and white and shouldn't be treated as such. Robinson will get the transfer window. He'll also get at least until the end of Feb. Quite rightly in my opinion too. His team's form August - November has given him that opportunity.
