  1. Yeah, I think for us there will be certainly lessons learned in trying to gauge what number of people will be able to attend. In the week's prior to the event it was a solo mission from us in regards to promotion and still four days after the event I'm totally scunnered about how it all went, that being said though I don't think we could have done that much more - we secured 4/5 of the panel, booked the venue, designed the posters etc. Have had various conversations over the last few days over what went wrong in terms of the turn-out, organising was a very frustrating process it has to be said - I wouldn't like to be the Society trying to find more idiots like myself willing to invest the amount of time and effort that went into Wednesday for ultimately the embarrassment of having to deal with such a low turnout. If we can combine an event with our POTY at the end of the season that would be ideal.
  2. Cheers pal. The panel were fantastic, all of them have a real passion for the club. There's every chance we'll try something at the end of the season, but it'll be our own event with the guys that have guested over the season - I'd really like to see these guys do something at a venue which was really busy, show them that they were really appreciated at the club. We had a raffle at the break with monies raised going to Remember Well & Alpha Boys Club - we obviously have our link with Remember Well and Alan MacDonald who runs Alpha very kindly had donated raffle prizes.
  3. https://soundcloud.com/mfcpodcast/mfc-podcast-qa-live-part-1 Part one of last nights Q&A here.
  4. On a positive note, the first part of the night is uploading right now. The second part which features a few questions from the audience and a take on the current side will be uploaded next week.
  5. I've spent a lot of time today voicing my frustration and what I felt went wrong in regards to promotion, the end conclusion is that we won't be doing anything side by side with the Society or MFC going forward. At the end of the season we may have our own podcast Q&A night and mix it with our Player of the Year award, but despite being proud of the panel we assembled and the quality of that chat on the night - the biggest feeling is one of disappointment about the whole thing.
  6. We managed to get the event recorded :-). Will have it edited up and out some time next week. Thought the event went well despite the very sparse turnout - hope all that did make it, enjoyed themselves.
  7. It's not the most sophisticated recording process we use, but I'll be giving it a go and will release later all being well.
  8. You have really spoiled yourself this week mate! An U20's game and now this! Seriously though, if you can make it along please do so, no issues with U18's attending too as long as they are accompanied by an adult. Hopefully the strength in the panel will make up for the quality of the host - excited yet totally unsure of how it will go!
  9. Scott Leitch will be on the panel tomorrow night too!
  10. This week's podcast is online now! http://www.mfc1886.com/mfc-podcast-201516-episode-14/
  11. Electric Bar, 21/10/15 - 7:30pm - Free Entry On Wednesday night the MFC Podcast are hosting a Q&A evening where fans will get to hear from from former 'Well players Martyn Corrigan, Brian Martin, Rob McKinnon and Keving Twaddle. We hopefully will have one further guest from the current side/coaching team tonight/tomorrow morning. Entry for the event is free regardless of whether you are a Society member and you'll also get a free pie at half-time.
  12. This week's podcast is online now - http://www.mfc1886.com/mfc-podcast-201516-episode-13/ And as a follow up to having recorded following the appointment of the new manager, I've written a blog too - http://www.mfc1886.com/we-need-to-move-on/
  13. Yeah Davie does the graphics. Will get something sorted soon!
  14. Cheers for the feedback folks - we've been lucky how open and willing to talk all of our former player guests have been. The 1-11 podcasts have taken a back seat with Davie back at college, they take up a lot of time to do. We do have intentions to get back to them eventually though. Hope you managed to get to the Joe Wark tribute at the end too - Jay normally does the intro and outro's, certainly not up to that standard but I gave it a bash
  15. Our new podcast with Martyn Corrigan is online now. http://www.mfc1886.com/mfc-podcast-2015-16-episode-12/
  16. Despite being relatively close to where whatever happened occurred on Tuesday it was near impossible to see what actually occurred. Nobody is saying the lad who ran on the park was anything but daft, but the reaction from the police and stewards was extreme to say the very least - I don't understand what the need was for the stewards to conduct a search amongst the crowd - surely it could have been dealt with after the game and as a result cause minimal disruption? The club owe a lot to the Bois for enhancing the atmosphere both home and away. In many ways they've been a victim of their own success, as they've grown a few hangers on have appeared. Urging the need to self-police is all well and good but I'd assume that is far easier said than done, if a wee arsehole wants to act in such a manner he more than likely will. It's a tough yin because the statement is open to scrutiny and for behaviour previously to be pointed out, but certainly the 'Heavy Hands Empty Stands' campaign is one that I support, but I do think there might need to be some come and go for it to be a success.
  17. Morning after the night before and I still don't feel the same levels of disappointment that I would usually after a cup exit and the missed chance of a quarter-final. To leave out guys like Moult and Ainsworth ahead of what Baraclough surely knew was a must-win was a dreadful bit of decision making. Got to say there isn't one player that was on the park last night that should feel any sort of pride in their performance, but the manager always seems to manage to be that bit worsee. No changes at the break despite that sort of performance, I don't care if he read the riot act (which I can't imagine he did) to allow some of these guys another chance to perform like that again in the second-half was a disgrace. The game was crying out for Ainsworth and he wasn't one of the first two sub's made - instead Thomas hooked while the likes of Taylor and Johnson were able to continue to go through the motions. Not saying Dom was brilliant, he was a lot better than Marvin or Taylor (who found himself effectively replacing Dom on the right). I've been in the 'Baraclough Out' camp for a while and remain firmly in there, but some of the players currently should be utterly embarrassed by how they are performing - even with the lack of direction and leadership that the gaffer is showing.
  18. I'm seriously contemplating whether losing this might just be the final straw for the manager, if that's to be the case I think I'd maybe prefer the loss. That being said it's a chance to reach a quarter-final against lower league opposition, we should be able to negotiate this but in our current state that seems highly unlikely. Everything about this team and particularly the manager seems totally flat, it would come as a massive surprise if the team that is chosen to start tomorrow finds a sudden spark, but something needs to happen and fast.
  19. http://www.mfc1886.com/podcast-to-team-with-remember-well/- new partnership for the podcast, we'll post this week's question later on today.
  20. Just noticed this, full version on SoundCloud, the file appears to be shorter on the website. I'll be back from work at six and will sort that then. Apologies.
  21. Pleased to confrim Martyn Corrigan for the evening at the Electric and the 'Kaiser' will also be our guest on the podcast the first week in October.

    Jake Taylor

I agree that Leitch isn't the finished article, but he's offered more in his showing's this season than Taylor has. To bring Taylor right back into the starting eleven after his suspension and leave Leitch out completely could be another damaging move to Jack's progress.
