  1. In addition to that we posted this on our Facebook and Twitter earlier this evening. PLAYER OF THE YEAR Over the last few week's the podcast team along with the guests on the show have been voting for their 'Podcast Player of the Year', however after yet another awful display on Friday evening we have decided there is no way we can go ahead with such an award. The majority of those who cast votes struggled to pick a deserving winner and that sadly comes as little surprise, there hasn't been anyone in the first-team squad worthy of the title 'Player of the Year' this season. Instead of scrapping the idea of a presentation altogether we have opted to award the trophy to the most impressive player in our Under 20's squad in which there has been a number of strong candidates - demonstrating the future is bright at Fir Park. The winner of the award will be announced on this evening's podcast. We will continue to support the team loyally throughout the remaining games of the season and beyond regardless of the end outcome. What we won't do however is blindly reward poor performances and unfortunately there have been far too many of those this season. Cheers Busta, Jay & Sparra

  4. Good news! Following the of success of Kevin Twaddle's 'One to Eleven', Brian Martin will be compiling his team based on the players he played with over the course of his career. Recording planned for Thursday.

  6. Never say never.....Kevin enjoying his podcast appearance has helped spread the word a bit, hopefully he'll come back with good news! Full podcast online tomorrow at mid-day!
  7. I'm not sure, but he mentooned all the good keepers he played with.. Maybe just adjusted for his target market
  8. You can watch Kevin Twaddle pick his 'One to Eleven' on YouTube using this link - Full podcast will be live on Saturday. The hour or so Kevin gave up was brilliant - we covered his career at Fir Park including goals against the Old Firm, playing alongside many big names, troubles with Eric Black, administration, his thoughts on John Boyle, the battles covered in his book and the current team. What surprised me was the passion for the club he still has, a fantastic bloke! Also have to thank Davie a Young for his work on producing the YouTube video. Give his Twitter page @VSMediaUK a wee follow, he does all our graphics and his talent never ceases to amaze.

Not the same as asking the boy beside you for reassurances to deal with said cross....

I think those involved at the club are well aware of the consequences of dropping down a league. They have been battling reduced attendances in recent years in vain and while relegation will turn some off, I don't forsee much of change there. Admittedly that's based only on the people I've spoken to, but there's not many here saying they'll be throwing in the towel either. Playing budgets will have to be cut, do players have relegation clauses where their wages drop? I've got no idea! In terms of extending contracts of the more experienced players, it's surely hindsight that two-year deals were the wrong option, certainly didn't seem the case after all three players you mentioned played a big part in our second place finish last season. The club have also been open in their approach to bringing on younger players and selling them on for profit, this direction must be followed. At the end of the day though you are worrying about things you can't control (leading to me now doing the same) all we can do is go along and support the team regardless of what league we are in.

Well it's blatantly obvious we'd have to cut budgets etc! I replied directly to your 'cut our cloth' blanket comment. You've come back on as if you are Mystic Meg!
  12. Recording our Kevin Twaddle podcast tomorrow morning and as part of the show we've asked him to pick his 'One to Eleven' of players he played with during his career. This will be released tomorrow night ahead of the podcast going live at the weekend. Hopefully this will be an interesting and popular new feature. Will post links tomorrow!
  13. Yeah that's exactly the plan really, will have a few special guests over that time too. Trying out a few new ideas for the Kevin Twaddle podcast, hopefully that'll give you all an idea of some of the different ideas we've got planned for post-season.

I think that's the more worrying underlying point, people becoming disengaged and losing a bit of desire to go along. Probably another conversation entirely, but there's a number of alternatives now to football (fair number of them being other sports). Football needs to adapt to that quickly.

He didn't claim fans had to buy into the idea of relegation, I think we all know that's not an ideal scenario, but I think there will be a hope from the higher powers at the club that relegation won't mean that previously loyal supporters just chuck it.

Pretty sure it was the effects would not be 'catastrophic' but there was a requirement for fans still to support the club.

While it wasn't in the five-year plan to be relegated (I doubt we ever make plans for such an eventuality) Les has gone on record on saying the future of the club won't be in doubt. Cutting our cloth accordingly will just have to be a consequence of relegation, players that haven't performed may be let go - that happens at the end of every season whether we finish second top or second bottom. I still believe we can stay up and Saturday aside have been encouraged by recent showings. Should we go down then no it isn't what we wanted to happen, but I'd prefer looking at it as an opportunity to give youth a chance and build our way back up than sitting raging for the duration of our time out of the 'big league'.
  18. Clyde One said a SPFL source anticipated they'd be released tomorrow. Not long after Gordon Dalziel answered 'six' to the question 'how many times have Scotland qualified for the World Cup since 1990?' Could be a while....
  19. New guest confirmed - Andrew Jenkin from Supporters Direct Scotland joins us on May 4th. Andrew was on Peter and Rougie's show last night and I couldn't believe some of the basis questions they failed to ask. Hopefully we'll be able to ask those and get a Motherwell/'Well Society slant on things.
  20. Thanks for that, glad you're enjoying listening. I'm going to try get back involved in posting more often too - mind you after witnessing that display on Saturday I wasn't looking forward to talking about it, still don't think I'm ready to read about it!! Next up on the podcast is Kevin Twaddle, this will be recorded in the next few days and then released next weekend. Hopefully there will be a wee surprise too later in the week, but still to get that confirmed for sure.
