  1. Like you need an excuse for a midweek booze! Good man though , yer in!
  2. Thanks to all who have agreed to take part and to those who have paypal'd , sent a cheque etc. Uptake has been a bit dissapointing I must say - hopefully it will pick up over the weekend. Few more bits of info that might help persaude you to take part The raffle will include the "first off the production line" Canterbury Motherwell strip. Mr Cowan has offered the chance for two people to join him as he does his restaurant review for the Record - this will be accompanied by a souvenir write up of your dining experience. Hearts have already donated £500 to the cause , lets try and really boost that total while having a quality night out as we do
  3. Cheers Buxe - back up it goes! Come on people!
  4. After a few good days with people putting themselves forward for the tournament yesterday was dissapointing. Would really hate to have to put the number of fans taking part down - due to lack of demand. I know funds are tight at the moment , but if you are able please put yourself forward for what promises to be a really good night for a very good cause.
  5. Not letting this drop. Dougie Arnott was responsible for gathering some of the 'Well' legends. He has 16 confirmed including - Stevie Kirk , Willie Pettigrew , Brian Martin , Joe Wark, Tommy Coyne , Rab McKinnon , Jim Griffin and of course Dougie himself.
  6. Filled a good number of spaces today - hopefully will have posters up in various places around the toon in the not too distant future. The quicker 64 fan names are filled the less time you'll have to read my attempts to fill spaces.
  7. Alistair just emailed me to confirm that has went through fine. Good idea with the rules , will sort that out.
  8. I've just replied to your email. I presume it would be just the usual pub rules , is that what most are used to? It will be one game knockout due to time restrictions on the night , you win one game you will progress to play a current/former player.
  9. Aye , it would be a good plan for me to do some work at some stage today.
  10. You know what it's like after a bad result Busta , but we still all pick ourselves up and get back along.
  11. For starters I would be playing our strongest team in their strongest positions. Guys are going to struggle to play at their best if they are not playing in the correct positions. But I can't think of many times where our playmakers have been ruled out for long periods of time. These are the guys who should be taking the game by the scruff of the neck and dictating the way we play. In the later stages of the season , we've had few injury problems with the exception of Craigan. I still don't think the football on display has improved a great deal and think performances such as the one at Killie and the one on Saturday are pretty good examples of this. Read a bit by McGhee talking about Ross McCormack , he was saying that last season Rossco offered to play on the left hand side as he could see Clarkson was struggling. I don't think there are many players in the squad with the same talent as McCormack so I wouldn't be expecting them to be doing that. Got to remember at the start of the season , we started without McCormack. We lost Porter at the end of January and whereas the goals have certainly dried up the results have been better. Maybe this is where I'm off the mark - is McGhee setting us up in a way that will win us games? (I would say on the basis of our finish this season - no!) McGhee is also the man who was placed in charge of replacing the players who left and whilst we could never dream of replacing them with guys of identical ability , I don't think the men brought in have proven to be nearly good enough (Klimpl excluded). Bit long winded , hopefully I've explained my reasoning.
  12. Yeah I think that probably is the case. Can hardly deny that MMG is responsible for the increase in expectations.
  13. Consider yourself involved Jamie. I've sent ye a PM , about payment.
  14. Why have we suddenly jumped back to last season though? The football played this season hasn't been as good and IMO the blame lies at the managers door.
  15. Wonder how good Tommy Coyne is at pool
  16. It was Tam Cowan's idea. As you say it is something a bit different and hopefully it will tempt a decent number along on the night. There also have been a lot of bigger events recently (even this year there has already been the Phil O'Donnell Sports Dinner and the night at the Mega Bar.) This is a lot less formal.
  17. Yeah Neil , everyone is more than welcome to come along , watch the footie have a banter with the players etc. There will be buckets for donations at the door.
  18. Places filling up for this pretty quickly - looking forward to it.
  19. I'll pick and choose which games to go to. I've lost quite a bit of interest to be honest and going into Saturday I wasn't overly fussed. Defeat kinda summed up the season for me , too many drab and dissapointing performances to really consider ourselves worthy of finishing high up the table. A wee day out for the Falkirk game is on the cards , whether I'll actually leave the pub to go to the game is a different matter. Making ICT travel on a Wednesday night is madness! Bring on 2009-10!
  20. Aye good suggestion - we'll cure Alan McGregor's problems then give him back. Away from that , I think Buzz will stay. Just a hunch.
