See McCall has confirmed we're not signing Chris Porter. No surprise, the rumour never made sense in the first place. We've not got the budget to sign an expensive, injury prone 29 year old striker who's best days are behind him. And O'Dea won't be signing either, only training here as Stewart Kerr asked McCall if he could to keep him ticking over during the off season in the MLS.

I know, I seen a Sheffield reporter on twitter say when Danny Wilson was asked about interest in Porter and a possible move away he said: So it seems like Porter is being offloaded according to the media in Sheffield but the only people linking him with Motherwell seem to be Sheffield United fans who don't seem to have much credibility and may just be putting two and two together. It seems public knowledge that Porter's leaving Bramall Lane but I've not seen anything substantial linking him with a return to Fir Park. And as I said earlier I'm not sure he's what we need at this moment in time with our limited budget.

According to twitter Megan Fox is deid, I'd like to see something a bit more concrete..

Brought a tear to my eye! Good luck Jamie in the future, a model professional for one so young, scored some really important goals for us and as I've said before at a time when young Scottish players are jumping ship at the first sign of some cash Jamie has always done right by us and has ensured we'll at least get something him. Good luck to him.

Can't blame McCall for that one. Textbook performance in Glasgow, keep it tight, ride your luck a bit, hope your keeper has a stormer and the only part we fucked up, take your chance when it comes. Chances don't come much better than a free shot at goal from only 12 yards out. Knew Hateley would miss it and you could see the rest coming. Just not ruthless enough, same as Jim O'Brien a few years ago. Have them at our mercy and just can't finish them off. Hateley may have shat it but did anyone else want to take it? Guess we'll never know.

'Fuck it up' by allowing Hearts to offer him more money??
-
Do you really think an armband being around Jamie Murphy's arm rather than Lasley's in going to make the slightest bit of difference?
-
Sounded quite confident too, my money would be on Kallum Higginbottom.

You say it's only 100k but how much money has Murphy won us in prize money over the years with his on field exploits? Third place finish Scottish Cup run to the final European runs Three consecutive top six finishes How much does all that add up to in prize money etc.? None of which could have been achieved without Murphy had we sold him for 500k or so a few years ago. Look at what Aberdeen are going to get for Ryan Fraser, 6 months out him and 200k lump sum. We've had four plus good years out of Murphy and he's helped the club achieve a lot in that time and earn a fair bit of money in the process. We need the money, simple as and although he's probably worth a fair bit more you can't say we haven't got our money's worth out of him over the last few years. For those saying 'fail' by the board what would you have them do? They tried to sell him last year for a bit more money but the lad didn't want to go. Apart from that we've never to my knowledge had another bid for him except from Hamilton fucking Accies a few years ago! Good luck to the lad wherever he ends up, at a time where Scottish youngsters are jumping ship at the first sign of a bit of cash this boy has done right by the club and has been nothing but a model professional and hopefully with some good performances down South he can earn Motherwell more money in the future.

I've seen Porter play a few times for United, to be honest I'm not sure he's the player we all remember due to a succession of bad injuries. I'm also not sure he's the player we need at this moment of time when you consider our tight finances, his big wage, his injury proneness in the last 4 years and the fact we already have Higdon.. In the 4 years since he left us he's played only 110 games and scored just 19 goals. I loved him when he was here too and there's no doubt he was a cracking player for us but will he be the same player he was and is he what we need right now?
-
Also looked like Murphy waving goodbye at the end. Best of luck to him if/when he does leave. Thought he had a good game and another goal today as well.

Stick yer 170k right up yer arse Lech Poznan.

We won't get a million for Hutchinson.

We have Kallum Higginbotham on trial ahead of a proposed loan move in January from Huddersfield according to the Sun. He's a forward/midfielder who use to play for Falkirk, his impressive form for Falkirk last season when they were knocking the likes of Rangers and Dundee United out the cup saw him win a move to Huddersfield for a six figure fee. Helped them up through the play offs but has struggled to make an impact as yet in the Championship. Hasn't kicked a ball for them this season but he has been farmed out on loan already this season to League 1 Carlisle. Looking at his career stats he looks like more of creator rather than a goal scorer. Was linked to both arse cheeks during his spell at Falkirk as well.

Ojamaa stole the show and was a joy to watch but in fairness the whole team deserves credit, not a failure amongst them.
-
Anybody that's watched us can see we're crying out for a natural central midfielder and knob or not Ferguson would fit the bill perfectly. I'd be quite happy if we got in a semi decent hardened lower league player from England in Janurary that could 'do a job' let alone a former Scotland captain with experience of Champions League football and who was playing in the Premiership as late as 2011. Even if he's half the player he was he'd still walk the SPL. The amount of abuse he got for being 'Barry the crab' or 'square ball Barry' was ridiculous. Imagine Scotland producing a player capable of putting his foot on the ball, retaining possession and being able to dictate a game eh? Nah, we prefer our shitkickers who run around the park like headless chickens who boot anything that moves!! Ferguson was a very good player who if he was up for it could improve our team nae bother. Don't actually think he would come but if he would I'd love to have him at Fir Park.
-
And who set up McHugh's last two goals? Take your time.
-
Wow, I know you don't like Ojamaa and look for any reason to criticise him but to make up things that didn't happen to suit your own agenda is just sad. If you watch it back I believe you'll find Hammell wasn't 'marking his man', infact it was his man that crossed for the 1st goal after Hammell was caught ball watching and the boy he was marking spun in behind him whilst Hammell was standing with his hand up claiming the ball had gone out. Don't let facts get in the way of a bit of Ojamaa bashing though.I'm surprised you haven't tried to pin their second goal on Higdon yet.
-
Ojamaa for me. Second half in particular he was the one looking to make things happen. With better finishing he could have had a couple. He left a couple of Saints boys for dead but topped his shot wide. His touch and turn when he controlled a high ball in the air dropping into the box down was sublime but again his finish was tame. He kept going and eventually set up McHugh for our goal with a great ball into the box. Never stopped running, chased lost causes was creating space time and time again with his movement. Don't know what's happened to his finishing this season mind you? Apart from his strike off the bar against United I've yet to see him not sclaff a shot this season. Credit as well to ZFA and McHugh who again made a real difference when they came on.

McCall got the praise for Saturday and he'll have to take some stick for tonight because his tactics weren't good enough and he took too long to change it. Our defence is shite, not just Hateley as some would have you believe but all of them. They do however get fuck all protection because of the way we set up. With Law and Lasley both pushing forward along with our usual 4 forwards as soon as we lose the ball we are caught out and all it takes is one ball and we're on the back foot. It's happened time and time again this season and again tonight. Two free crosses with no pressure on the ball and two Saints goals. The Saints midfield had free run on our defence time and time again. Don't let the score line fool you, we were poor. As well as their two goals Hateley and Ramsden both cleared goal bound shots of the line in the 1st half. They also had several good chances to finish us at the start of the 2nd. We could have snuck a point in the end with a break of the ball but it wasn't to be. We can't keep waiting to be two down and wait till the last half hour to start playing. Too little to fucking late. McHugh and ZFA both deserve a start for me, both made a huge difference when they came on, well done to Bob on another goal. He really must have the best minute to goal ratio of any Motherwell forward this season. Ojamaa was my MOM, a real bright spark always looking to make things happen. Created a number of good chances for himself, set up the goal and never stopped running. Murphy was decent as well, Humphrey faded in the 2nd. The rest were below par, and that was possibly Keith Lasley's worst game in a Motherwell strip. I mean he was Shaun Fagan bad tonight, couldn't pass, couldn't tackle and when he ballooned a good chance over at the end that about summed up his evening. Talk of McCall getting the sack is ridiculous, it is however frustrating to watch us repeat the same the mistakes over and over again. He MUST shake things up for Wednesday and he has to offer the defence more protection in future.
-
You're either at the wind up or a fucking idiot. Was our best player tonight, set up another goal as well.

POLES PLAN £170,000 SWOOP FOR OJAMAA My link There's been no bid as of yet and is no more than speculation at this stage. Not the done deal it's been made out to be.
-
From the official Aberdeen site. My link Appears it's all ticket for Aberdeen fans as they are actually expecting a big away crowd.
-
Tough one. Ojamaa set one up, Higdon had a hand in two of them, Lasley put in a hell of shift, Bob nicked the winner. The two best players for me were Humphrey and Murphy. Murphy made a big difference when he came inside and Ojamaa moved out wide. Humphrey was pacey, direct, worked his socks off and his end product was as good as it's been in a Motherwell strip. Great ball for Murphy's first and he done well to pick out McHugh again late on only for the latter to miss. However for his two goals when it mattered and for looking like the most likely source of a goal all afternoon Murphy just edges it for me.
-
We were brilliant after we pulled a goal back, should have won by more! Higdon, Humphrey, Ojamaa all missed decent chances and how Bob missed from a yard out I'll never know but he more than made up for it a few minutes later. Humphrey was brilliant, 2nd half was one of his best Motherwell displays and he never stopped running. Murphy took both his goals well and was a real menace when moved through the middle. Higdon had a hand in the first two goals with a nice dummy for the 1st and good knock down for the 2nd. Hateley's delivery was better this week, still a bit hit and miss and he seemed to settle a bit better in the 2nd half. We also scored from one of his corners, finally! Law didn't look fully fit but fair play to him for sticking with it. Not Ojamaa's best game but he kept going and set up the winner. Bob never stopped and got his reward. To be fair everyone deserves credit for the fight shown in the 2nd half. Defence still a concern, Hutchinson lost Doyle for the 1st and Cummins was caught out for the 2nd and I would consider putting Ramsden in there for Friday night. However fuck the negative shit, today should be all postive. Well done as well especially to McCall, took some baws to take off a centre half for a striker away from home and go for it so well done to him. Great celebrations at the end and you can see what it meant to both players and fans. Great day out, I do just fucking love Motherwell some times..
