Seems to have a good attitude, contrary to what some would have you believe. Hopefully he goes and does well for himself. Good luck Rossco.

Thought the wee man played very well today. Okay should have scored but his touch and movement were excellent and he was involved in all our best chances(his own, put Humphrey through 1 on 1 and set up Hateley). Not to mention when he flagged incorrectly offside. Tired towards the end though.

I love Hammell, he's been an excellent servant to Motherwell over the years and a consistent performer. However with no disrespect to him I wouldn't break the bank to keep him. Now this isn't just about Hammy, I wouldn't want Motherwell to do so for any player but especially one in his 30's with no possible sell on value. I'm sure Motherwell will offer him the best contract possible(and a testimonial, an extra cash incentive). If he thinks he can get more money elsewhere then best of luck to him, no ill feelings from me. However at his age, as a man with a young settled family, in today's financial climate a long term contract and security is always going to be an appealing option. Like I say I hope he stays but if he goes he goes. Gone are the days I worry about us losing players, they will come and go but we always seem to survive. I'm sure others will be outraged at my attitude to our squad's future etc. but it's just my approach to these things. At the start of McGhee's second season I was sure we'd be fighting for third/fourth again and we were bottom by Christmas, and ended up failing to make the top six. The season Gannon took over with the amount of players we lost and the state we were in I was sure we'd be in for a relegation dogfight. In the end we ended up fifth and qualifying for Europe. You never know what's going to happen next season, no real point fretting. The future will take care of itself, right now we're Motherwell, Champions League. And I sincerely hope guys like Hammell, Craigan & Lasley are around to enjoy it. If anyone deserves it it's them.

He's a good player but he's 25 already. Don't see him developing into a Scotland regular.
-
What he said. Well done to everyone involved with Motherwell.

Finish it tonight please. Don't fancy us at Ibrox needing to get a win to make sure it can't go to the last day. Done tonight and a party at Ibrox on Saturday please. Can't go myself but hope to see beachballs galore etc.

Loved the big man celebrating in front of the us at the end. Big man was loving it too! Great to see.

Jenno for me, was everywhere. Whole team was terrific though, a great team performance. Well done lads.
-
3 assists and just outstanding all game, has to be Humphrey.

According to Scott Burns(usually good with Well stuff) Clancy, Lasley, Jennings and Hammell have been offered new deals. Which by reckoning leaves Forbes, Page, Craigan & Hollis as the other players out of contract not to have been offered anything(yet).

Trio Targeting Jennings Sounds like an agent desperately trying to drum up interest in his client by touting him to all and sundry. Perhaps a sign there's not as many teams interested as he'd hoped as he looks for a potential new team. Also where do I recognise the name Jonathan Hope from? Was he Casagolda's agent?

Sorry my mistake, I meant poor discipline in terms of the number of silly cards he picks up flying into needless tackles. Hutchinson has picked up 9 Yellows in the SPL alone, only Richie Foran and Jim Goodwin have picked up more. I know Yellow's are something of an ocupational hazard of being a centre half but a lot of Hutch's cards are needless and come from him going into tackles he's got no chance of winning. He's got to realise he can't win the ball everytime and learn to stay on his feet more often. Too often for me he charges in like a bull in a china shop and clatters someday and on a few occasions it's cost us and he's been lucky on a few other occasions. Don't get me wrong I like Hutch, he's big strong lad, good in the air, brave, reads the game well and isn't too bad with the ball and he can be a big presence in both boxes. However he's getting to the age as he approaches 22 where he's got to start ironing out some of the faults in his game. He's got to work more on the mental aspect of his game if he wants to progress and play at a higher level. I'm hoping that will come with experience as I'm sure even though he's in his 20's he's only played about 60 times for us through injuries and what not. It just annoys me that some people are getting a bit carried away with how good he is as of this moment and seem to have a blind spot to the obvious flaws in his game, they'd much rather just blame Clancy or Craggs etc. As for Clancy I quite like him and wouldn't mind him getting a new deal but ideally I'd like to see a Saunders and Hutchinson centre back pairing for next season. They;d compliment each other well im my opinion and impressed in the limtied time I've seen them play together and have the makings of a really good partnership.

Point I've tried to make a few times on here recently, Hutchinson is just as prone to the odd error or rush of blood as Clancy. Don't expect 'Big Hutch' to get any of the stick though, just blame Craigan/Clancy instead.
-
What about Hutchinson? He's also got poor discipline and is liable to make mistakes, should we be replacing him too?
-
The defending for the winning goal was poor all round, you can't just lump the blame at Clancy's door. Jennings originally misjudges the ball and should have dealt with it better. Clancy seemed caught in two minds about whether to attack the ball or not (probably because if the ball's filcked on he'll be caught out) as it was he got caught in no man's land and you could see him realise this and begin to furiously back peddle when he realised he'd misjudged it. Hutchinson then gets beaten to the ball far too easily and was caught flat flooted. He failed to anticpate it and allowed McCulloch to nip in and score. It was an all round farce, with poor defending and seemingly a lack of communication all round. Some poor play from Jennings, Clancy and Hutchinson switching off has cost us. Your being excessively harsh in your singling out of Clancy who has been fairly solid for the majority of his Well career.

I too am sadly all too aware that we make an arse of things when we have a big chance. Doesn't always happen that way though and I just felt(not necessarily just you) some people were going a bit OTT(myself probably included) over Yesterday's performance or lack of. We've been doing pretty well ourselves lately in the league and under McCall more often than not in my opinion this team/last season's as well have risen to the occasion. I'll hold you to that.
-
So what pressure game(s) apart from yesterday have we failed to perform in? By my reckoning before yesterday we'd played 5 SPL games since Rangers went into admin/Champs league became available and we won 4 of them(including the 3-0 game against Hearts) and the only one we lost was away to Celtic a team who have a budget 5 times our own and who we have no right to be beating. And we only lost by one goal! So I'm sorry your point won't wash with me. If these pressure games are the ones since the Champions league place became available then we've won 4 out of 6 and yesterday was the first one you could say where we didn't turn up in a game you'd hope we'd win. Sorry but I just can't see your logic.
-
Did you miss the back to back wins over Saints when they were breathing down our necks? Or the comprehensive 3-0 victory over Hearts at Fir Park when they had the chance to move within a few points of us? Were these not pressure games?
-
Yup. Although having watched them today I'm not too confident it will make much of a difference.

Apps: 36 Goals: 4 Assists: 8 Cleansheets: 16 Boo Hateley, you're shite etc. No surprise him Higdon etc. are getting the abuse. Yet Golden boy Hutchinson was pish in a mistake ridden performance from him but we'll brush over that*. He's the Geordie Baresi. *Ducks for cover for daring to criticise 'Big Hutch',
-
Should have stuck with Page. Hutchinson was horrific, maybe some will now realise he's nowhere near the player some on here make him out to be. Jennings was awful. Ojamaa couldn't trap a bag of cement. Murphy, we will struggle to get £250 based on that performance. Pass marks to Randolph. Humphrey as well was by far the best of the forward players. However that's not saying much. Trying not to be to critical given the season we've had but fuck me that was as bad as I've seen us in years. 1300 fans badly let down. A real lack of fight and nobody looking to take responsibility. Very poor. Fear for us now. United and Saints winning, and I've got the fear we're going to get pumped next week.
-
How do you expect Page to prove himself over a number of games if you're willing to dump him after his MOTM performance on Saturday??
-
Young Carswell looks to have a bright future. Thought he was very good in the middle, really grew into the game. Got stuck in, got from box to box and was unlucky not to get a goal. Can see why McCall likes him and gave him a new long term deal. Hopefully more of the same next week.
