  1. I'm sure it was when we played United on Setanta later that season I think they showed them before the game. They did an interview with Clarky and showed the highlights, the only time they've been on TV. I'm sure some Motherwell fan has got them saved somewhere. It was the game at Tannadice where the players had the special O'Donnell footballs with his name and signature on them, some were kicked into the stand for the Motherwell fans I seem to remember.
  2. It's funny how things on here change so quickly. Not long ago we were one of the best non OF teams in the league, challengers for third and were playing some of the best fitba in years.... Now after two bad games we're suddenly shit, can't score and are terrible in defence. There really is no in between on here for some, we're either brilliant or shite. Listen I know we've had a bad few games and we all get angry after a bad performance and post ridiculous things(myself included) but some of the stuff said on here is way over the top. It's not quite time to hit the panic button yet. Football fans are fickle, if we go out the cup on Tuesday and lose again on Saturday such is the ridiculous nature on here I expect people to overreact and it wouldn't suprise me if the McCall must go thread is brought up again, we will go nowhere under him and we will be fighting relegation etc. If we win on Wednesday and Higdon bags a goal, the Humph terrorises the Hibs fullback and the defence keeps a cleansheet we will be back on track for the season and it was just a blip etc. We seem to save our best for the cup under McCall so hopefully we bounce back with a resounding win and a good performance under the lights at Fir Park like the United replay from last season which was one of the best Motherwell team performances I've seen in recent years. If we fail to win on Tuesday well I might just avoid this place for the next few days...
  3. Sadly so predictable. Struggle to break a team down. start to panic and lump long balls forward. Always seems to be the way if we don't score first. Has anyone else noticed that in the 3 games we've lost the first goal this season we've went on to lose by an aggregate of 11-0. Two of those were against the OF I know but it's still pretty shocking. As other's have said it's as if plan A doesn't work we have no plan B and McCall seems reluctant to try and change things, which is so fucking frustrating when you can see it isn't working yet he refuses to change it. In saying all this as bad as we were Saints weren't all that great and we basically handed all their goals to them due to our own inept defending. An own goal, a defence splitting pass from our own left back and the third was just a shambles from the entire defence.
  4. Don't forget getting to the corner of the box for Law to lay it off to Hammell, for Hammell to give it back to Law, Law to cut inside into traffic and pass it back to Lasley, who in turn passes it back to the defence and we're back to square one!!! FFS I'm all for good football but try fucking crossing the ball occasionally!! We over do it so often. At least when Daley came on, he brought the ball down cut inside and had a reasonable attempt at goal, more than the other forwards managed in the previous 80 odd minutes. Good football is great to a point, but there has to be a shot or a cross at the end of it. Far too often today we tried to play too much and basically just ran into trouble and gave the ball away. EDIT- Should add the above criticism was when we tried to play football and didn't just resort to pumping aimless long balls forward, which happend to often today as well. Just a shite day all round, even after the first 20 mins you could just tell it was going to be one of those days.
  5. Would have went for Hammell who I thought was our best player until he effectively killed the game of with his suicidal back pass. Null vote in the end, all utter shite.
  6. Why did we keep hitting long balls to him? It's not his game. I know he's six foot but his link up play with his feet is much better than with his head. He showed in the Dunfermline game he can be a good player and can finsh if given the chance. The biggest problem was we created zero chances for him today which he's partly to blame for cause he was fairly gash as well. If we create chances he wil score and he will get at least double figures this season. If we're playing well and creating chances he will score goals and will be very useful. My biggest problem is if we're not playing well like today and not creating chances for him I'm not sure what he adds. I personally thought he was by no means the worst culprit today, Clancy, Jennings, Craigan and Lasley to name a few were ranging from pish to utter shite. However it will always be the likes of Higdon that will get it in the neck. He's a big boy and I'm sure he can take it. If it's any comfort to the lad the same people giving him abuse gave stick to Clarky for years and to Porter and the Juke when they first came so he shouldn't worry too much about them. I'm fully confident he will be a good player for us
  7. Page in for Clancy. One good and one bad game so far, looks the average filler player Killie fans described. Page should get his chance and in all honesty the defence couldn't be much worse. Forbes in, Jennings can sit his fat arse on the bench. Murder today and has been for large spells so far this season, I know he can do no wrong in some people's eyes but he and Lasley were gash today. Lasley being marginally better as at least he looked like he could be arsed. Cracking player but has been piss poor for most of this season and maybe a seat on the bench would be the boot up the arse he needs. Forbes played a belter at St.Mirren and has barley had a sniff since. Deserves a chance and at least he always looks to get on the ball and can hit a pass. Which would be a huge improvement on today's midfield. Daley looked like he had something about him. Give him a chance maybe even Bob McHugh. Who do you drop? Well after today any of the front 4 couldn't grumble with a place on the bench. Would love a great display after today's dross but as long as we're still in the draw for the next round I'm not too bothered how we do it.
  8. Is it tradition now for someone to start a fucking stupid thread like this after every fucking defeat. Honestly give it a rest. It's boring and tiresome. I would defend him but I have a feeling a certain poster on here will be on to defend him soon enough. This thread
  9. A few times. Not really enough to judge. Most of what I've seen has been highlights from the football league show or a few games on SKY but when I have seen him play he does seem to blow hot and cold. If he's not playing well he's a bit of passenger and certainly doesn't work as hard as our other Jamican winger. Can produce moments of magic but also tries things that don't always come off. As I said game changer on his day and a good option to have but I can imagine some people not taking to him. Though that's hardly new Humphrey, O'Brien, Foran etc. all had their fans but they all have/had their detractors. Hopefully he can produce as we certainly could do with a few more attacking options.
  10. Good have him on board. Pace, experience and seems to have the ability to produce the spectacular. Probably will split the fans, some love a flair player others will hate his lack of consistency, workrate etc.. but he's a good option to have. We now potentially have a game changer on the bench unlike recent weeks so hopefully McCall feels he finally has someone to throw on if things aren't going well. Look forward to hopefully seeing him get a run out on Saturday. Welcome Omar
  11. An early goal is crucial against teams like this, try and make them come out. We beat them 3 times last season and each time we scored in the first 15 minutes and the games were essentially over by half time. Infact twice last season we were 3 up at half time against them. They really seem to struggle with our pace and width and if we come flying out the blocks and grab an early goal as I said earlier I feel we will win it comfortably. However the longer they keep it at 0-0 the more I will worry. People will get restless and we will end up panicking if we can't break them down and start pumping aimless high balls forward. However I think both Murray and Callum Davidson are out and Jody Morris is a doubt, they will be big misses. I fancy us to come out with a point to prove and take the game to them and as I said if we get an early goal we will win it comfortably.
  12. I agree largely. He was immense in the Scottish cup QF replay and SF but was poor as was everyone in the final but I feel that's down to him being stuck wide left in a game where we seemed to have little of the ball and were defending for most of the game. As you say he has always performed in Europe. I forgot he scored at Ibrox a few years ago, I thought he still hadn't scored against either half of the OF but I do seem to remember him helping turn the game in our favour. Don't forget he also had a great game against Celtic in the win at Fir Park last season. So he does have some good OF performances behind him. To say he's "always" posted missing in big games is untrue. He's struggled against the OF in a lot of games but as has been pointed out and done to death in the last few days so have the Motherwell team as a whole. It's not just down to Murphy to perform, on Saturday for example if we were as bad as everyone suggests how was Murphy meant to influence the game on his own? I for one am very interested to see how Murphy gets on this season. Three goals in seven games is a good start but I want to see him carry it on over a season. He will obviously have his bad games as everyone does but he still needs to find a greater level of consistency. If he continues the way he's going 15+ goals should be very achievable for him this season.
  13. Fancy us to win this. People will point out they won at Celtc Park but it was a fluke and they are utter guff from what I've seen of them and they are painfully slow at the back. With the pace and width we have I hope we expose them like we did last season and with Daley hopefully to be registred in time hopefully gives us another option. I'm sure I read the Humph say in the papers today that Daley was faster than him. Hopefully he's a good addition. Motherwell 3-0 St.Johnstone
  14. Folk genuinely seemed suprised we're losing. They are a much better team than us and are beating us 2-0, it happens. As long as we don't lose the place and don't collapse hopefully they make a few changes and take their foot of the peddle and save themselves for Althetico Madrid and Rangers next week.
  15. We can't afford him and Higdon and I'm perfectly happy with Higdon. Thanks but no thanks.
  16. This. Liked John when he played for us, didn't quite get the Richie Foran style man love that he got from certain supporters but he always did a job for us. He wanted to leave, he wanted to join Hearts and things seemed to have gone tits up. No sympathy from me.
  17. He said he expects to be out for 5-6 months. Hope he recovers quicker than expected, looks like a decent prospect.
  18. Or on a big open pitch like Celtic Park we will get torn to shreds on the counter attack.

    Faddy

Aye, whatever you say big man. I'm sure we were better off without him, I mean we had James Forrest and David Goodwillie to bring on Real Game Changers.

If only he'd been fit today..
  21. Agree, think as long as injuries and suspensions don't pile up I feel we're in for a good season. 13 points from 18 is a fantastic start and it's great to have points on the board early to have something to build on. Although I don't expect us to get much from our next match against Celtic we then have St.Johnstone and Aberdeen back to back at Fir Park which are two very winnable games in my opinion to continue our great start before we head into some tricky away games. Quite looking forward to this season, was a bit down about us at the beggining of the year when Brown ditched us and McCall first came in and we were awful, however despite a tricky start I'm really enjoying the way we play under McCall. Lots of pace, width, ball on the deck, add in the ever improving atmosphere off the pitch and I'm really enjoying the football again, long may it continue.
  22. Belter. That's why you've got to love deadline today, who doesn't love being linked to random players playing for clubs you've never even heard off. Doubt we will sign anyone now, have we ever signed anyone late night on transfer deadline day?
  23. Not saying there's any basis of fact to us getting Fleck but I would take him on loan given the chance(not in any exchange for Murphy though). He's certainly got talent, just hyped up beyond belief and the knuckle draggers that inhabit Ibrox will probably hound him out much like they did with Charlie Adam. Could be very useful. All quiet on our front the now.

  25. Twitter account for the Sky Sports guy is fake, still no basis to the rumour, hopefully it is just a rumour.
