  1. The pitch looked dreadful but I actually thought it played a lot better than Accies'. I don't recall too many strange bounces and it didn't kick up the way it does at Douglas Park.
  2. To be fair, anyone who wasn't in the queue by quarter to three would have missed kick off, not helped by the early kick off and the size of the queues (although a lot better than Broadwood).
  3. Yeah, he was done and had disappeared from the game. The booing was only when he was going off, not when Sammon was coming on.
  4. Finished 1-0. Scrappy second half.
  5. Campbell on for Gorrin who was having a decent game.
  6. They've been good shots as well, not half-hit sclaffs.
  7. 1-0 at half time. Thoroughly enjoying the game. Lots of attacking football and could easily be 4-4. Very impressed with Bigi trying (and generally succeeding) to make forward passes and he's taken some cracking corners.
  8. It's one thing being caught out at the start of the season but another entirely not to sort it out during the season.
  9. It looked horrific on Sportscene's highlights of theirgame against Killie- black crumbs everywhere. Players were getting up with their faces covered in the stuff.
  10. Game at Livingston tonight was abandoned due to floodlight failure. Shouldn't need them for a Saturday afternoon game in August thankfully!
  11. Twitter updates raving about the performance.
  12. I thought that rule was in place to cover clubs who maybe sell a very young player for, say £10k, and after a couple of moves gets sold for a large fee.
  13. I thought all previous clubs received a development fee for subsequent transfers up to a certain age.
  14. He's 23 and there's talk of Kilmarnock not standing in his way - no mention of whether they're getting a fee. Would we be due a development fee?
  15. They still supposedly outplayed Hearts got the first half hour last week but their heads seemed to go down when Hearts went in front and Hearts stepped it up a gear. My concern would be if we fall behind and are left huffing and puffing to try to score.
  16. Are we due a development fee to Leicester or did they release him?
  17. The first time I saw McFadden was that 3 - 2 win over Aberdeen. Elliott put two cracking crosses in for him - the first header was saved and he headed in the winner from the second.
  18. We've got to be realistic as a club and sell players when fair bids come in. That's our ethos as a club and how we sell ourselves to players- if we start messing players around we might not be as attractive an option to future targets. It's fine to dingy derisory offers like Celtics for Carson but if the offer for Kipre is anywhere approaching a million plus add ons then it's fair and we have to take it. If it leaves us short on players we can afford a few nominal fees, even after paying our creditors.
  19. I'll take your word for it. At the time I seem to remember going on about cash-strapped Motherwell trying to bring in cash. The inconsistency line makes sense though. Who else did we sell immediately following administration? Eric Delomeaux for £100k? Did Greg Strong also go to Hull? Anyone else? McFadden was the big one but he was after the summer.
  20. Yeah, that's how I remember it. He was heavily involved in the church on Airbles Road and would only go somewhere they had the same church which severely restricted his options and he went to Hull. That was the rumour anyway but seeing as we were in administration and desperate for cash we would have sold him anywhere. I used to know a Hull fan through work who spoke highly of him but they were playing at a lower level in those days.
  21. Other than Ayr United or playing them at home, I don't think we could have got a better draw.
  22. I assume quite a few that were there yesterday saw Bowman walking up to the ground wearing one of those protective moon boots- anyone hear how serious his injury or how long he's likely to be out for?
  23. I looked him up on Wikipedia to see what it said about him. He played nearly as many times for us as he did for Clyde (87 to 110). He's listed as 68 and 6'5" - wonder if he still cuts as imposing a figure.
  24. Good to see Willie McVie is the special guest.
