  1. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Any increase in the local population will hopefully help attendances in the long term.
  2. Are there still roadworks on Airbles Road and the dual carriageway to Hamilton?
  3. Yeah, I looked him up and was genuinely surprised to see that- thought he was much older.
  4. Gavin Gunning has scored for Solihull Moors against Bromley. Didn't know he is still playing.
  5. Polworth was my stand-out performer, tremendous game from him. Honourable mentions to Maguire, Campbell, Gallagher and Hartley.
  6. So we're going with Tait as expected but Barry Maguire is given his chance in midfield. He's done well any time so it will be interesting to see how he gets on with a league start in midfield.
  7. I'm expecting a similar game to Ross County but hopefully we've learned some lessons from that. Goodwin's success at Alloa revolved around them being stuffy and hard to beat and it looks as though he's setting St. Mirren up in a similar way. I expect to see Tait at left back and probably O'Hara in midfield if he's considered fit enough.
  8. I'm surprised Joe Wark hasn't been mentioned yet (unless I missed it).
  9. It's not just down to rating him - Dundee United paid a hefty fee for him that few clubs could afford or justify. They'll look on it as justified if his goals get them promoted.
  10. Sorry to hear about your dad- recognised him from the Cooper Stand. Glad you made it along- it sounds as though it's what he would have wanted and, as you say, the most typical Motherwell performance.
  11. It's easy to forget that this was in the days before budget flights and most of our support went by bus. I was on one of the buses that left Fir Park at 11pm - seemed like a good idea at the time! Cracking trip and Dortmund had some set-up and they've kicked on since then.
  12. He was moving well enough to be at the Scotland v Belgium game on Monday night with no crutches.
  13. If we had 3 deals fall through then I assume any signing after that would have been well down the pecking order. Maybe we were better not signing anyone than someone for the sake of it. That's not to say that we won't be wishing we had signed anyone at all in a month's time.
  14. That's sad to see. Real shame at that age.
  15. I can't think of any examples offhand but I'm sure we've picked up players after the deadline who have been released by their clubs (or negotiated an exit).
  16. I can remember a game in the 80's when one of our players (I'm thinking Forbes) dived up to the top corner to save a goal-bound shot at the old Douglas Park. Straight red and penalty which Accies scored. Very late in the game so he probably figured he had nothing to lose apart from the one match ban. The rule's been in place for a long time and if it wasn't for the threat of being sent off players would be doing it regularly and taking the booking.
  17. Would we try and put Dunne out to left back again if we brought Hendry in? His pace would suit the position but his passing ability wouldn't and remembering his positional sense makes me want to sit in a dark corner.
  18. Although he played for Rangers, I thought Paterson was very much a Hibs man. Don't know about Ferguson but you're probably spot on with McLean and Forsyth although wee Tommy certainly had no problem buying and playing Celtic-leaning players.
  19. Has Robinson not regularly used League Cup games to give the second choice 'keeper a game . Playing Carson against Hearts wouldn't necessarily mean he's dropping Gillespie, just rotating the squad.
  20. We're trailing 1 nil at Clyde. Goodwillie the scorer.

So the colour of shirt we had a few years ago is based on an incorrect cigarette card?
  22. I get the impression that's what most clubs drawn against an under-21 team do.
  23. Considering we were hammered over the play-off pitch invasion, and there was a much more confrontational element to it, Rangers seem to be having numerous pitch invasions without a word said from the governing bodies. Strangely their incidents all occurred at away games which might have something to do with it as well.
  24. I think it would be more newsworthy if he hadn't been booked.
