What's the chances of it being at 3 o'clock on the Saturday now that it's Aberdeen?
-
I think I'm the only one looking at the league table and thinking we've just about confirmed our top 6 place. One step at a time.
-
Can't see a translate button but I'm using my phone so might not be on mobile version - I was just thinking Gaag's Estonian is a hell of a lot better than mine. I hope it'll boost his confidence even further but it'll be quite a week for him having to fit in going to LA between visits to Celtic and Dunfermline!
-
Please let Queens beat them. I've got a horrible feeling Aberdeen would go for their high ball approach and pap us out in a disgraceful football match.
-
I'd prefer Celtic to take their chances at Tynecastle and leave us to get on with a home tie against lesser opposition. By that I mean lesser than Celtic - I'm not presumptuous enough to think anyone is lesser than us.

I take it the snow hasn't arrived? It's pissing down in Maryhill but it can be a lot different 15 miles away.

I assume we budget for bottom six and anything better is a bonus. Those two home wins put us 14 points above 7th with 9 games before the split. It would take a massive collapse now for us not to be top 6 this season. Does that mean there's a wee bit of unbudgeted cash on its way?

I'm sure most of the abuse shouted contravenes the umpteen stadium regulations so they could get stewards to put people out. I think the abuse would have to be sustained and exceptional for them to do that.
-
It's all coming across loud and clear on BBC Alba just now!
-
Seeing as Sportscene also highlighted Griffith's gesture while preparing to take a corner, I can see him picking up his third ban. Fenlon must be going crazy with him! I can't see Higdon avoiding a ban due to Griffith's precedents.
-
I don't see his tweets - does it sound as though he's off? I feared that from his reaction as he left the pitch. He's kidding himself if he doesn't think he'll get abuse anywhere.

One of my friends really disliked Woods and the rest of our group always had a wee laugh at his annoyance when the chants of Woods Woods went up after a good save. Of course the posters saying he was the worst goalie ever didn't join in with the chanting! Or they hadn't seen John Gardiner.

I was told that at the start of the season McCall gave Forbes one last chance and he was given his own training regime to see if he could shape up. I thought he looked fit and sharp against Clyde but he's maybe lost that with lack of games. We're not going to just let him go with our size of squad, no-one is going to buy him so he's here as a squad player until the end of the season when he'll probably be let go and hopefully progress elsewhere.

Whisper it, Stevie Woods actually made some fantastic saves and ensured we won some games. I'm sad enough to have kept the old highlights!

Randolph seemed to get extremely upset about being called a dick and seemed to over-react. Hopefully just frustration but he appeared to throw away his shirt at the end.

I don't know if we don't have the budget to allow it but it's noticeable that we haven't brought in loan players in the way we have done previously or other clubs are continuing to do. It's been both a success and a failure for us but when it has worked (Ruddy, Blackman and Jutkiewitz), we've been able to say that the player involved will most likely be a first team starter. I'm not sure McCall feels he can say that just now as I don't see him leaving an established first team player out for a loanee who would likely be an inexperienced youngster with potential. The only exception would be if he is prepared to play 2 up front but doesn't think we currently have the personnel. I know we've signed Ojamma but it does feel as though we're missing the boat a bit compared to some of our recent successes who have been able to return to their club and get good moves on the back of their time with us.
-
Brown said "any striker in the SPL". My money would be on Omar who we have played as a striker at times.
-
The only player I could see us receiving offers for is Randolph and I think we would struggle to replace him with similar quality. I'm sure it would result in points dropped but we would sell him if it was a decent offer. Saying that, I didn't think we would be able to replace Ruddy.
-
Taking Randolph and Hutchison out of it, I think that would just about buy our whole team! Cue lots of two-faced Murphy responses.

As far as I know it's still technically a contact sport and the goalie can make contact with the player as long as he touches the ball first. Different story mind you if the challenge is considered dangerous. Radio seemed convinced it was a penalty but I've not seen TV.

Does anyone know where I can find the results from old seasons? I know people have talked in the past about putting an archive website together but I can't find anything. I've found that the old www.motherwellfc.org gives results from 95 -04 but I was hoping to get more recent seasons. I also found www.motherwellfc.net which is in Greek (or similar) - I've got a fair idea who could be behind that! Can anybody point me in the right direction?

They had some tremendous kits with most of the best ones being variations on the themes of stripes down one or both sides - I like Wales Home, even Aberdeen and of course ours look great (particularly the Away). Surprised they went to the effort of doing different strips for us and Bradford.
-
When I was a boy I had a poster on my wall of all the Admiral strips. Must have been from the late 70's / early 80's. I can only remember the Well, Coventry and Leeds tops but it had enough strips to go all sound the perimeter with an action shot of two players fighting for the ball on a mudbath of a pitch. That brown Coventry strip was something else.

Now that was a proper floodlight failure! Although on my way home Radio 5 reported we got to half time on Friday before "descending into darkness ". Classic case of putting 2 and 2 together to get 5.
