Why would he have got a big pay-off from Birmingham? I thought his contract expired.
  2. We've had some cracking games against Hibs over the years as both teams tend to have a go and often have better forward lines than defences. O'Connor and Sproule give me the heeby jeebies but Murray's not going to fancy being continually skinned by Humphrey again. Another 2 - 2 draw for me. Unfortunately I can't make it. I don't make many away games these days but that 10.14 train for Hibs was always a grand day out.
  3. A work associate said he heard from a MFC director that the club had been alerted the day before the game that an unusual level of bets had been taken on a Motherwell player being sent off. All very third hand but who knows?
  4. There was a smoke bomb at Dens last season and, while I wasn't at Tannadice on Saturday so I don't know if it's still the case, the same stewards worked at both grounds.
  5. Their official report describes it as "an entertaining game that raged from end to end". Seriously - is that the level they've sunk to or are they trying to brainwash their fans into believing they're trying to be entertaining? I don't think their reporter would have survived our cup game with Hibs if he was excited by that.
  6. Inside left - but we haven't played that formation for about 60 years.
  7. Was he not reported to have been offered slightly less by Ross County but went there for the longer deal. If he had been made to feel unwanted towards the end of his contract with us that may have made his decision easier.
  8. Do you really think he was paid a lot of money at Motherwell?
  9. And not Walker's equaliser in the same game? Bonner fell for his body swerve so completely he had to pay to get back in! I'm still traumatised by the ending to that game though. I'd have to go for either O'Neill's semi-final goal or Lucas' equaliser against Hibs just for the sheer drama associated with both goals. An honourable mention goes to Softy's 35 yard volley at Cappielow.

    Highlights

It was a draw if you don't put yourself through the penalties! I don't think Brown could have avoided saving Murphy's penalty unless he deliberately jumped out of the way.

    Hibs Coverage

Don't know if it was open all mics as I was in the ground but they had somebody covering the game as I heard team line-ups and comments on the traffic problems on my way to the game. Fairly sure I caught the end of the programme as well once I got back to the car. No idea what's on tonight though.

    Hibs Coverage

Radio Scotland covered the last round so I'd expect open all mics again.
  13. Really? Playing on the pitch in heavy rain has led to the pitch cutting up and mud. The sand was added to try to address the mud and improve the surface.

    Big Hutchie

Edit: missed a page by mistake. Good luck to him. I'm afraid I've not been to impressed wit Page when I've seen him so hope he's back soon.
  15. It does but so it should at this time of year. It'll be judged on how it lasts the winter and whether we're playing on a blanket of mud and sand in February.

    John Sutton

He doubled his wages to go to Hearts - he's not going to return.

Carlisle were one of the teams who made him an offer but he opted for Hearts. Might be any port in a storm now though. However I don't see Sergio lasting 3 years so he could try and stick it out.
  18. Surely Celtic fans can wave it in support of McGinn, McCourt and of course Neil Lennon. Our fans will also be waving Irish flags in support of Randolph and Clancy. Or we could all just get on with watching a game of football. Edit. This was supposed to be in reply to weesacs Craggs flag post but I hadn't realised we had gone on to yet another page.
  19. If he's fallen out with his club then they're more likely to want rid of him than put him out on loan. The previous post regarding Barnsley seems to have too many details to be completely made up but it doesn't mean the reference to us is correct.

He was trying to transfer his course from Glasgow Uni. through to an Edinburgh one so obviously Jeffries didn't have a problem with it. Maybe Sergio does?
  21. Fergus McCann's 1st home game was indeed a belter with about 3000 of us on the terracing. Sieb, Sieb, Sieb, ...

We offered him the same again and Hearts offered him double - we couldn't afford him then and can't afford to bring him back. He's moved his family through and bought a new house so was obviously committed to the move and it will be a big blow to him. It's not the first time a new manager has come in and not fancied certain players but I can't see that he's done anything wrong. He did receive better offers down south but didn't want to completely uproot his very young family. Hearts would be the highest paying option to him in Scotland so can't blame him for the move.
  23. Is anyone going to claim to have actually witnessed our goal? Can't remember why everyone was late - terrible traffic probably.
  24. I remember the John Reilly goal but still think there was a belter from Harrow though. It was a long time ago and I do get a bit confused sometimes so I could be talking rubbish.
  25. I remember him scoring a cracker from over towards the dug-outs but I thought it was against Hibs.
