  1. Anyone heard anything about the French trialists mentioned by wee g in the Cragg's testimonial thread?
  2. I prefer Saunders to Hateley for purely defensive duties but Wednesday's game showed they've been working on changing direction with long cross-field passing which Hateley was doing well and I think he'll be first choice.
  3. As stated, Forbes needs to make a breakthrough. I heard a recent newspaper article said McCall had a meeting with Forbes and his father to say he wasn't happy with his fitness and he was being given a last chance intensive programme. I don't want to open up the whole Forbes debate again but has anyone seen the article?
  4. There's a big difference between being injured and being unfit.
  5. Higdon seemed to take a knock last night and it was very obvious in the second half that our attacking alternatives lack physical presence. We need someone in as back up to Higdon (I don't think our budget will stretch to someone to partner him) and it has to be someone with a decent injury record.
  6. His goal in the CIS semi against Hearts at Easter Road.
  7. I'm pretty sure Jennings would have been offered more to try and tempt him to stay but, seeing as Sutton was only offered the same again, would have thought Craigan would have been offered the same money, or even less considering his age. McCall's already been quoted as saying the improved deals to retain youngsters affects the budget in the same way as bringing in a new first team player.
  8. If it sells out I'm sure Motherwell will make an area of the main stand available as well.
  9. Good to see him finally confirmed but I was hoping for more than one announcement and the longer Jennings goes unsigned the more I think he'll be snapped up by someone else.
  10. It seems to have been glossed over but the article also states Aberdeen couldn't afford him (and neither could we). It's just Craig Brown trying to kid the Aberdeen fans on they're looking at a standard of player better than they actually are. Novo's agent has now said he wasn't offered to Aberdeen so somebody's telling porkies.
  11. There's no fir trees or Ravenscraig and I've seen teams which make me seriously question whether there should be a ball on the badge either. Maybe we should just do away with a badge altogether for our new multi-coloured tops that button up the back.
  12. No point in them now though - did Jock Wallace not get the blame for them being cut down?
  13. Which BBC weather woman was it that had to apologise after referring to Castle Greyskull when giving the weather forecast for when a game was on at Ibrox? Think she gave the excuse she was a Kilmarnock supporter and it was a perfectly acceptable name for the place but apologised if she had offended anyone.
  14. That was the game when a certain Bob Malcolm kicked Chiba's head as he lay on the ground and pretended he hadn't seen him. Of course, some people won't hear a word said against the lovely Mr. Malcolm.
  15. He got a lot of stick for being so tall but not being able to head the ball but he had a lot of pace and caused defences a lot of problems when given space to go. I remember a game at Love St. where we had a comfortable win because he could knock the ball past the defenders on the half way line and fly by them.
  16. Only 2nd time round surely, although he did score a cracking header to round off a great move against Dundee Utd. which just about exempts him.
  17. I don't like this talk of "Jennings is going to sign". If he's prepared to sign then get him to sign now and then announce it. Zaine Francis Angol seems to have been on trial at Colchester but not taken on and his 100m prowess seems to have been with his school (going by a quick Google check). I had been going to mention Moutouakil in my earlier post about pace not necessarily being combined with footballing ability but couldn't be bothered trying to spell his name. We've had a few other culprits in the past as well.
  18. Is this a proper signing rather than a loan deal? More importantly, can he play football or is he just fast?
  19. I can't make my mind up whose return is less likely - Fagan or the Flask!
  20. Excuse my ignorance but what did he do at Burnley? He was certainly a good player for Dundee and is still young enough to be worked with.
  21. We had a packed defence in that game against Celtic and they dealt comfortably with aimless crosses which they could go and attack. The next game ICT tried to play the ball around in a more open game and we got ripped apart. Gunning struggles with his positional sense for left back never mind centre half.
  22. Experienced man mountain - we've been vulnerable against bigger teams at set pieces for more years than I care to remember.
  23. Rangers offered a derisory bid on the last day of the window for our top scorer which we had to turn down. If we hadn't we could well have been relegated. And this £1m for Reynolds bid which gets bandied about - was that not the usual Rangers media hype about a £300k bid which could have gone up with appearances? I don't think we've (recently) sold players on the cheap but there's a difference between a cheeky low bid and a Rangers' style insulting one.
  24. I think Dundee paid money for him when it was rumoured a few SPL clubs were interested.
