It's been hinted at but not mentioned specifically: the 4- 0 cup defeat in a monsoon op open terracing at Tynecastle wins it for me by a mile. I'll get back to you with the other four but I've seen some right humpings in my time (mainly at the hands of Celtic). In fact, no.2 is the 6-1 cup defeat at Tannadice.

With Lasley injured and our midfield being over-run against Accies, our options were Fitzpatrick or defenders or forwards. We are short on midfield options - not that I think Kerr is the answer.
-
We've got no real idea of what he can offer us but, if Murphy is to miss a few games, how far is Casagolda away from a return?
-
There seems to be an assumption that if we get Aberdeen it'll be at Tannadice or Easter Road. Tynecastle's easier to get to but is it considered out of the running because the Main Stand is a dump and Hibs have a shiny new one?

Radio Scotland also talked about up to £250k with the pooled gate money. Not sure if there would be more money if the Old Firm were kept apart - wouldn't have thought there would be too much in it. Hopefully the money will enable us to strengthen the squad in January or prevent us having to sell anyone (other than Reynolds). Can't see us getting Blackman as there would be no benefit to Blackman but hopefully we can sign up Gow and make contract offers to a few of those whose contracts are running out, like Jennings.

CIS's advert in the programme showing the progress so far has the semis in 1st and 2nd in February. More to the point - who will we still have playing for us after the transfer window?
-
I thought it looked as though he went over on his ankle when he landed which can take a good while to get back the strength.

Was Freddy's not a 25 yard header back to Main who had already come out to collect the punt (sorry, long diagonal through ball) and it rolled into the empty net? For some reason I remembered it as being Van Der Hoorn who scored both of them, but if Beaumont got one, then even better!
-
I'm sure we'll sell himif we get a respectable offer. I think the club has stated in the past that they make it clear to all young players when signing contracts that they won't stand in the way of them furthering their careers as long as we're treated fairly as well. To muck Reynolds about would only discourage other players from committing their futures to us.

Is Rhys Weston not their right-back? We've already had him on trial and decided he's not for us. And please, let's not open up the whole Klimpl thing again. Had his time and we've all moved on since.

Remember it well and it was fantastic with a well worked goal. Don't want to put a dampener on things but were we not only top for 24hrs. as the rest of the league played their games on the Wednesday night?

He scored from well out at Dunfermline on the last game of the season. I remember it being a nice sunny day and I thought he was over towards the Well support in the old terracing along the touchline when he hit it but that would put him on the left which doesn't sound right. He looked a very promising player but unfortunately he just wasn't quite quick enough for midfield or full-back in the top flight.

They then went on to have a team that kicked anything that even thought about moving and we always got suckered into losing the plot, getting someone sent off and ending up on the receiving end of some heavy defeats. Very frustrating.
-
I've gone for Randolph for the saves and an all-round commanding performance. I appreciate Page scored two good goals but I thought he looked out of position too many times to look like an automatic left back pick on the basis of this game.

It's been seeded up until now. Is it still seeded for the quarter finals? If so, we'd be a top seed and could only get Kilmarnock, Falkirk, Aberdeen or St. Johnstone?

I certainly didn't see Brechin kicking us off the park although the tight park meant that players of both sides were closed down very quickly. They may have sat back when we had the ball more than they normally do but they created a lot more than we did by playing the ball on the deck. At times they more than matched us with football and were very unlucky not to score in doing so.
-
I forgot that we also took the worst free kick from the edge of the box I will probably see this season. With Forbes, Hateley and Lasley around the ball they somehow decided to tap it between each other to set it up for Lasley who then stood on the ball, allowing a Brechin player to take it off him and run upfield , setting up a break-away. Why they thought it was a good idea to tee up Lasley for a shot, when the other two have at least scored from free-kicks, I have no idea.

Enjoyed my trip to visit a ground I hadn't been at before but we were pretty lucky not to concede and it was a bit worrying a 2nd division side created much more than we did. They had about half a dozen really good chances and only a combination of very good goalkeeping, last minute challenges and poor finishing prevented them from scoring. Anyway, we're through, 2 great headers from Page (wasn't far away with an earlier attempt either) and I had a great fish supper from the chippy round the corner so I shouldn't moan too much.

If the guy writing this had done any research he would realise that a firm of quantity surveyors would have nothing to do with checking out the pitches. Considering we change ends at half-time I really don't see what UEFA's issue is unless the pitch is ludicrous. They have to apply common sense and perhaps set a maximum allowable gradient that takes into account the fact that many grounds are a century or more old.

I'm between 35 and 65 and I'm overweight but I don't meet the 38" waist criterion so I think I'm allowed to stay on the Chapman's pies for a bit yet!

Tickets weren't available this afternoon but if you phoned up and gave name, address and passport numbers they were reserving tickets to be picked up later.

Most of the teams we expect to be competing with for a top 6 place have maybe made one signing where you think they might do quite well for them but that is more than made up for by the amount of players they have let go or lost. With the probable excepetions of Celtic who have spent a lot of money and Dundee Utd. who have done next to nothing, everybody will be weakened this season and not just us. Take a look at the BBC's page summarising SPL ins and outs for an indication - it's not completely accurate as they haven't included all the departures. As for Hearts in particular they've lost Kingston, Stewart, Goncalves and Nade and brought in Barr and Kyle. Yes, Kyle will score some goals for them but the last I heard he'd already picked up an injury and could miss the start of the season.

Me + 4 = 45 but this method is wide open to duplication and we'll end up with ridiculous numbers!
-
Remember they've got to flog their charter (with gauranteed ticket) first before they know how many they have left.

Against Breidablik, I thought they were much poorer than I expected and would have been very surprised if they had put us out over there. From watching the 2nd half did they look a good team or one we should really go and beat?
