Not many of us there on Farningham day but we were definitely hidden away up the back of the Main Stand (before they built that Club Deck thing on top). Most extreme case of robbery in a football game I have ever seen - brilliant!

I saw him yesterday outside my office rummaging through balls in his boot. He was wearing a Street Soccer sweatshirt so can only assume he's doing some sort of community coaching. He never seemed the type you would let anywhere near youngsters as a role model. He was in my older cousin's class at school and she didn't speak very highly of him as an individual (that's putting it politely).

The one on the left looks very much like Davie Irons. I must have mellowed with age as I find it hard to get very worked up about a lot of the more recent names mentioned, apart from a few dishonourable exceptions. Seriously, what has Andy Millen, Stewart McKimmie, Hamish French ever done to stand out from the crowd? But you'll get no argument from me regarding Andy Smith, although did somebody say he works for us at youth level?

Yes - but only up to 3. As for hated players, Hearts in the 1980's, early 90's. Take your pick! For starters I'd go with John Robertson, Kennny Black, Dave McPherson, Walter Kidd, Henry Smith and Wayne Foster.

The strange thing is, the way I remember it (possibly with claret and amber tinted glasses), is they seemed to score with almost every attempt whereas we had loads more chances and should have scored more. I also think we applied a lot of late pressure with a few close things but it was 10 years ago so my memory may be playing tricks on me.

I don't know what Driver's preferences would be but when he was called up for the England U-21s that was the only nationality available to him. He might have grown up feeling Scottish but it's highly unlikely he would have grown up feeling an irrational bitter hatred of the country of his (and his parents') birth. As for Chris Humphrey, he's obviously eligible but (as he himself says) he hasn't yet done enough to be due a call-up.

I remember being absolutely livid when Bob Malcolm was sent off and a few friends who support Celtic even thought it was only worth a yellow. From the away end it didn't even look like a foul but when I saw it on tv I had to admit I was wrong. Ridiculous, foolish challenge he didn't need to make. Ah well, it all worked out in the end!

I didn't watch the game but I did read he was capped. It used to be players got capped immediately after leaving us for Celtic, now it just seems they have to go anywhere in England. I wasn't aware of Hughes being particularly on form for Norwich but it looks as though you're suddenly worth looking at if you leave the SPL for League One. Don Cowie is a very similar case, although at least he's in the Championship.

I'm sorry but threads like this just tempt fate too much for my liking. Now that this has appeared I'd say a win for ICT tonight is a definite!

To be honest Celtic and Rangers have produced quite a few players that have gone on to make a living in football, just not that many have progressed to their own first teams. Admittedly it is harder to break in to Rangers or Celtic's first team than it is to one of the other teams'. We just have to look at McLean, Hughes, O'Brien, McBride and Smith in our own team over the last few years. It is great to see our youth development looks as though it is continuing to produce players but it is a pity we don't get to see any coverage. Before the demise of Setanta we were able to see thier games against the Old Firm on Rangers or Celtic TV and before Flow's 'transfer' to the club he occasionally posted highlights on here. I thought he hoped to continue to do this, albeit in a more official capacity, but it wouldn't surprise me if there's a copyright issue even for under 19s.

As Leeann points out there were a lot of Cooper season ticket holders who did not attend while attendance of season ticket holders in the other two stands was strong. It has to be remembered that the Cooper Stand contains the Family Section and I'm pretty sure the majority of non-attendees would have been kids as parents left them at home. Let's face it, matches against Rangers or Celtic are not what everyone would consider to be a family occasion.
-
I assume it's the southern end as before. What made matters worsefor those of us moved from the Cooper to the Main Stand was that, despite this requirement for stands not to be shared, we still ended up beside the opposition fans. On several occassions I was re-seated towards the southern end of the main stand. The last section had been given to Rangers fans ( I don't remember it happening with Celtic) and the only segregation was the stairway between the sections. I don't know if this was supposed to be a family section but the occupants were all supporting Rangers and they did not all have kids with them. I saw a good few of them being ejected by the police after being warned several times for their behaviour. I won't now be subjected to their behaviour, which generally left a bad taste in the mouth, but pity those that sit in the main stand that will again. I imagine they won't be as supportive of the decision to return the Cooper to home fans and that side of the main stand to visiting supporters.

Anything I've ever read said blue and white and it was changed to claret and amber as there were too many teams in blue. I'll need to did out the centenary history book to make sure though.

I noticed on one of the televised games towards the end of last season they seemed to be allowing sharing at St. Mirren's new ground. It did make me wonder.

Like Numpty, I was in the same year (and a few classes) as Stephen Wright at the now defunct Earnock. He didn't stand out in PE as he wasn't a showy player but he was a decent guy and knew he was signing for Aberdeen from an early age. It was a pity his career was ruined by injury. My cousin was in the same class as Derek Ferguson and had the same opinion as Weeyin. He also knew he was going to sign professional early on and he made sure everyone knew it. There weren't many Motherwell supporters at Earnock and not too many Accies supporters either to be honest but they all came out of the woodwork after that Albert Craig game!

Yes, following the No (means No) vote we had the Cooper Stand. I was in there as usual and there were plenty of guys in who were obviously Celtic supporters and a few even had colours on but the stewards couldn't have cared less. In general, I don't have a problem with opposition fans sitting in other ends as long as they can behave themselves. We live in what is supposed to be a civilised society after all and I would certainly do it if it was the only way of getting to see the 'Well. To be fair most of them did behave themselves, kept quiet and didn't even cheer their goal but there were a few who did jump up and that was what caused any problems - especially as the stewards generally turned a blind eye. The next game at Fir Park was against the same opposition and I had to sit in the Main Stand but there's been enough threads on that and the situation has now been put right.

Yes. Announced as part of the new season ticket prices and early bird discounts.

With much of the transfer activity being pushed by agents it wouldn't surprise me if everybody knows how much a certain club or player is looking for. He may even have been offered to Aberdeen or perhaps Boyle told him during dinner on saturday to rub his nose in us spending more cash than he could!
-
Christian used to be a regular panto performer in the days of the Krankies and was once a director. To call him a celebrity might be pushing it and I don't even know if he's still alive.

I know it's McGhee-bashing season but he has an interview on the BBC website lamenting a lack of funds where he makes some very interesting points. From a Motherwell point of view he mentions that we are paying Lukas Jutkiewicz more than they are paying anyone up there. Makes you wonder how much we are paying for a player with potential but who is relatively unknown. If people are able to take off the blinkers, he does speak very well and honestly but also complains so much about the lack of cash you wonder why he went there in the first place!
-
Accies are one of the few clubs to have made cash bids for players and their left back has just left. Of course, they could just be putting 2 + 2 together (as many of us are).
-
I'd be disappointed to see Hammell leave although if he was to go I'd like to think we'd be looking for a fee. Other clubs wouldn't believe their luck if they were able to get him on a free transfer. It would also leave us chronically short for left backs. Much as we could play Reynolds there, I get the impression that Gannon likes to make changes during games and for his team to be flexible. Losing Hammell and replacing him with Reynolds at left back would reduce his options. If he was to leave, I think Accies would be keen as their left-back Luis Rubiales left today after a fall-out.

Completely up to you but my 4 year old doesn't have the attention span to sit in one place for 5 minutes never mind for a full game of football. He'd be quickly bored so I haven't taken him yet. I know my dad started taking me when I was about 4 or 5 but in the days of terracing it was fairly common to see young kids down the front at the wall where they could move about a bit when they get bored. Rather than your daughter's age I would say it's more down to when you feel she's ready and showing a bit of interest.

It has never felt more worthwhile than when Fitzpatrick scored that very, very late winner at Easter Road. I don't think anyone thought it was a diddy cup then!

It's Lukas Jutkiewicz according to the official site!
