  1. The concern was for the safety of the fans and players. You can't ask the players to only play on one side of the pitch.
  2. The manager said that they would be in for training today.
  3. I didn't miss Anier until yesterday.
  4. What are the numbers for a Lasley/Carswell midfield since Carswell broke into the team? Seems kind of unfair to only take a sample from the season where we've been utter shite, and not the ones where we were 2nd.

    Injuries

My response was to the post right before mine, try reading the whole thread first.

    Injuries

There are multiple other threads where you can spout your pish about who needs to go, this thread is about injuries.

    Injuries

So, it was mentioned that vigurs and Moore would be back next week, but any news on Lawson and leitch? What are their injuries? What is hammel's injury? It seems that this has been one of those seasons, but is it reasonable to put this down to our long time physio leaving? Did he have an effect on the prevention of injury, or was he better at spotting the bullshitters?
  8. Alan Burrows earned a job with the club he loves and made it his own, then the board deemed it appropriate to promote him when the opportunity arose based on information only they could have. I think some of the folk on here either still see him as just the guy who started this forum and have conveniently forgot the years he put in working for the club earning his chance like anyone else, and others might be a wee bit jealous. Whether he is any good or not isn't going to be apparent to the casual fan. When was the last time the fans even gave a toss about who comprised our administrative staff? Our problems are due to the poor planning over the last year, leaving us with a bunch of guys who are happy to pull down a wage until June, when they can all go and pull the wool over someone else's eyes. But this is happy happy land compared to the Facebook comments, wtf?
  9. You aren't going to get any fight out of a bunch of guys who are on their way out of the door. The best we can hope for is St Mirren and County to keep losing.
  10. We are showing all the hallmarks of a relegation team - no confidence, players hiding on the pitch and in the treatment room, poor decision making, poor discipline, numerous injuries, and the apparent refusal to admit that we are in trouble. When we do go down we will go the way of falkirk, we don't have the resources to bounce right back.
  11. I think it is accepted that it will cost millions because it isn't as simple as piling a load of dirt on the low side. Our stadium has been built around the slope, so work would need to be done on a couple of the stands too.
  12. I think they pay for those players though, we won't do that.
  13. Based on his reported wages, if we can get rid of Neilsen we can pay Les back early!
  14. I might quit my job to go work at Sea Space between the poles of the best end.
  15. Rumoured interest in guy from Morecambe http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/550799/Motherwell-target-Morecambe-midfielder-Ryan-Williams Listed as a striker on Morecambe's site, and scores a free kick here
  16. Scotland and the rest of the UK are years behind in this regard. This issue bothers me since you would think a footballer would want to extend his career for as long as possible, and fitness/diet is one thing they can 100% control.
  17. Another thing to consider is whether having a plastic pitch would put doubt in the mind of potential signing targets. I think that as these pitches improve we'll see more of them in Scotland, but while the plastic clubs are in the minority you've got to think that this would be a factor when a player is weighing up his options.
  18. Here is one article talking about the perceived injury risk.
  19. My guess is that rectifying the slope would prove to be a big obstacle on top of the cost of installing the pitch. It may be that the savings from being able to use it for u20s, u17s etc, and train on it (as well as income from leasing it out) could recoup that cost. We have a couple of case studies in Dunfermline and Hamilton and others to see if this is the case. I'm not convinced it will make a significant difference on the playing side though. Hamilton's success isn't due to their pitch, it is down to their players playing well under a manager that has a plan. I also think we've had these pitches around long enough that we can start to understand whether there really is an increase in injuries compared to grass.
  20. You can lump Black in with all the out of contract players, as a problem that we'll deal with at the end of the season when we don't have to worry about paying them off (on the assumption that he can be let go at the end of the season).
  21. He was on loan at Tranmere, so my guess is that he'll sign on there considering his history with them. Here is Jennings saying as much
