Mckinnon probably just read the Record article or heard it on Twitter/Facebook. Doubt he has any inside info.

Realistically the only players we can "get rid" of are the loanees, everyone else is under contract and we would have to pay that up for them to go, and I doubt we can afford that and the cost of whoever we bring in to replace them. Not much chance of other clubs taking them off our hands either considering how shite they are.

If my memory is correct, we installed Davies, Butcher and Malpas immediately on announcing their predecessors being sacked, but McGhee, McCall and Gannon were all out of nowhere. I am sure that when we appointed McLeish, Kampmann and Black the papers had the story a few days in advance, and had their names mentioned. I have released memories I shouldn't have, off to sit in a dark room.

Why is Adams such an unpopular choice? Seemed to do well overall at Ross County.

Why anyone would think the Solano thing is a good idea escapes me. Look at what happened to Airdrie, Dundee and Hearts. When owners like this get what they need, or can no longer make money, they aren't going to do what John Boyle did and write off part of what is owed to them, they will screw the club over. The reason fan ownership appeals to me is that the fans are the only people who truly care about the club. Not the players, employees, or owners, because they come and go and there are hundreds of other clubs out there. But if we lose our club, then that's it. I also believe that we deserve the club we pay for. If the current level of investment from our fans is the maximum we can bear (including gates, merch, and well society), then that is what we have to live with. I know what I'm prepared to pay and I don't expect 2nd place every year at that price.

Do we have enough strikers at the club for ardiles to use?

He showed interest in the hibs job and previouslt managed Royal Antwerp. Would be an interesting one.

Not sure if we would be able to move that quickly. Either way, I guess if we're looking for someone to bring through the next wave of youngsters Stark would be worth a shout? Or is he shite?
-
I'd probably just start again from the first season. Always pick up stuff that I missed.

This is going to be a difficult one because we need a turnaround with the squad we currently have, so a Gannon type with "contacts" isn't going to be the answer, and I'm not sure if someone with a completely new philosophy is going to be able to get their ideas across quickly enough. Although we enjoy a good comeback, I'm not sure if Butcher would come back without Malpas, who was our last internal appointment and that didn't go too well for both parties and I'd be surprised if he came back. I think his appointment was also the last time we made an obvious appointment! I'd love it if we went for a manager who is proving himself in the lower leagues in Scotland, but other than Ian Murray I don't know who there is. So. Former player/manager, no bridges burned, Scottish lower league experience, and not too radical, and unemployed = Derek Adams. He also has previous fir park scapegoat experience. Shit, maybe it is going to be Leitch.

they making the goals bigger again?

Reminiscing over a TC hat-trick and the worst refereeing performance ever, and found some Roddie, Lehtonen and Meldrum
-
On the subject of ferrerre, does video exist of that hat trick?
-
Kevin Christie deserves a spot. There are plenty of guys mentioned who only had a couple of appearances, but the likes of Christie and Roddie somehow got a decent number of appearances despite their shiteness. John Hendry was also awful, and I'd agree with ferrerre, he was found out after that amazing debut. The trick was to not be Hibs. someone I haven't seen mentioned is Johni Lehtonen, midfielder. He started a game at tynecastle in the snow, and we got leathered and he was atrocious. Saying that, we've never been short of a CM to hate!

Open up some new franchises.

Hibs were horrible too. As bad as I've seen us play and win, but I'll take these shitty wins for now, points are points.
-
Maybe we would have signed higgy if we hadnt already signed the guy who kept him out of the team last season. I didn't see much of him other than that one goal, so I don't know what the fuss is about. Partick will finish in the bottom half.

Hatelely was a good player for us and anyone who thinks otherwise has a problem. We offered him terms to stay and he chose to try his luck elsewhere, that's his prerogative. His dad has fuck all to do with anything. If he ends up at killie then that's his problem, not ours. Some folk take it way too personally when a player leaves. You have supported the club all your life, they work for the club during the term of their contract. That's how it works and it isn't going to change.

Usually when we beat the more financially priviliged teams its through a higher work rate and pressing them when they're on the ball, but if anything Kuban did that to us. This resulted in most of our possession being harmless as we didn't have the spark to break them down. Saying that, we had some decent shooting chances on the edge of the box, and two headers for Sutton, but we didn't get the bit of luck that we probably needed.
-
Fair enough if Hammel's mistake was as bad as written, I didn't catch how the ball broke to them for the counter.
-
Yep, there was no edge to our game with just Sutton up there. Faddy was his usual self, trying too much and giving the ball away regularly, but he's our best chance at a spark of genius so you have to take the rough with the smooth. I thought they looked a lot quicker than us, and that told when they hit us on the counter. My one compliant is that McCall went on in the presser about how he'd learned his lesson about committing to much to attack and being hit on the counter, then the 2nd goal happened to us. 0-1 wouldn't have been a horrible result to take there.

They weren't great, but they had the quality and composure when it mattered. Number 99 looked good. Not sure why Hollis was getting so much stick (other than that he was singled out before the game), he was hung out to dry on both goals. We had some chances, or maybe half chances, and a wee bit of luck and it could have been a different story. I don't think we can single out a scapegoat for this one, as a team we just weren't sharp enough. 3 goals needed now but stranger things have happened. One thing I'll take from this is that it is going to be fun watching Vigurs and Faddy this year.

I doubt we can afford experienced backups. The young players would fill in if there are any injuries. For clubs like ours the key to a good season is avoiding injuries. If you look at our best seasons, it has been when no one has been out for a long period, whereas some of the worst were when we were missing experienced guys (TCs long injury was a bitch). My guess is that we'll sign one more wide player, giving us ZFA, Faddy and winger3, then we will supplement with our other midfielders and forwards.

Well 4 Europe's summary is pretty good. Erwin, Moore and Murray are in the 1st team squad, so are part of the depth for their respective positions. I think there's a tendency to forget these guys because they aren't new signings. Three of our most experienced players came through the same system, then there is Hutchy, Cummins and McHugh. If we are going to make money from selling players we need to see a good few new youngsters get first team exposure each year.
