Could just be speculation based on the pic from the main stand, along with the mention in the media that the new guy is foreign, then the German link with the chairman. A search for baldy German unemployed managers on transfermarket brings up a couple.of guys, Lieberknecht being one of them. He looks like he has a decent record of promoting a couple of teams to the Bundesliga, and relegating them back. I'll enjoy the speculation for now until reality hits tomorrow.

Tierney was injured for a huge chunk of his time with us and when he was out on loan, and seems to have landed at his level. He had the knack of getting on the end of things on the box, but was anonymous in midfield.

German cos of the chairman's links to there? (stole that from P&B, I forgot about that link).

I think the ketsbaia stuff is all from his agent, it definitely cones across that way. Either way, I hope the announcement brings a bit of excitement and sets us up for another win against utd.

Without the numbers in front of me, 3 weeks seems to be about normal for new appointments, with some taking longer. The surprise nature of SKs departure, and the CEO reportedly mourning the loss of a close family member not long after, probably slows things down too. If we are still interviewing, I'd guess we're at least a week away, but we've been less leaky since Caldwell came in (or others left), so who knows? We're not guaranteed to get this appointment spot on, but at least we're doing our due diligence to get close. We're still in a relatively good position, with decent points on the board and our better players coming back from the dead (I'm sure someone is crocking themselves as I write this), and woth the new appointment getting the checkbook for a rebuild I'm the summer, we need to take our time and be careful. I'm not going on holiday, don't want to risk not being allowed back in.

They said McGinn was pretty much done for the season, and seddon was months in the last update that SK did on injuries. I'd only expect further updates there if something changed. Think they're just hoping we forget callachan.

We have been a lot less leaky with stuff recently. I'd see that as a good thing. Not sure what info the club is going to put out other than that we're reviewing/interviewing candidates. Pretty sure it takes a few weeks usually. The initial names that came out would have been from those guys' agents, making sure the names were out there while people were paying attention. Also, the Scottish sports media will be focusing on other more sensational things right now to be hounding our dinner lady to find out who's been stopping by.

Thought Forbes was going to be a big deal when Gannon started playing him, then it turned out he doesn't like running, at all. Some left foot though.

Does Lennon have a backroom staff that he sticks with?

Most of the league outside of the OF play a back 5, and it's been successful for us to date, so I don't see us switching system, at least until the new manager is in (and fheres a good chance they will prefer a 5 as well). We would probably benefit from keeping things simple until then. Getting the right players in each position is probably more important. I don't particularly like a back 5, but when the wing backs are on form, it can be effective. I think it was Robinson who played down the importance of formations, stating it's just moving players a few yards either way, and what you do in each box is more important. We have definitely been poor in our box, with our suite of right backs being equally poor at that. The formation didn't lose us the game against St J, it was being soft as shite in our own box, and not being clinical in theirs. Hopefully we have Casey back in, he has his flaws but is better than SOD or Blaney.

That first line doesn't come across well on a phone screen 😄 I'm confident our fans will be behind whoever is in the dugout and on the park next week. In general, we read the room well as an overall support. Seeing slattery back in training, and hopefully Miller and AP to follow, is encouraging. I wouldn't expect any of them to start, but they're all capable of making an impact from the bench. I don't see Frail changing the system or personnel to a great degree. He will likely see the 2 week break as a solution to our lack of energy, and that our home record is pretty good to date, and want to stick with what worked previously. it will most likely be subtle changes. It will be interesting to see if any of the new loanees start, and at who's expense.

Who would we consider as "forward thinking" or "dynamic"? Courts? Fotheringham? Maloney? Are we looking for someone that switches up tactics in a horses for courses way? Because that seems pretty rare. We're never going to accept someone coming in and changing a philosophy (whatever that means) because that takes time. If our new manager starts the way Simo did at St J, there will be pitchforks aplenty. Even though it looks like their patience could pay off. Of the names touted so far, lowe looks like a great option, with success at multiple teams in the english lower leagues. However, he was getting slated for defensive performances and not scoring enough goals at preston, so we may not get the swashbuckling style he was lauded for at bury. This is a great opportunity for someone to come in and figure out the league in preparation for a big summer, where there will be scope tonreshape the squad then all the loans and out of contract folk are away. As such, I'm good if it takes a bit longer to get someone in. Ultimately a portion of our support is going to be underwhelmed, or furious.

Is some of that not covered by insurance for injured players? Also, I'd assume loans are cheaper than full time transfers. So, it ls not ideal ans no doubt costs us more than we'd like, but probably not at blowing our budget levels.
-
Forgot we need one of those, any good managers that used to be a keeper?
-
Most people expected a bloodbath, it wasn't. Armstong pushing the celtic player for our goal was nice, that's the kind of shithouse we need. Thompson looked fine, and some nice touches for Dickson. Hard to gauge the new ones against that mob, but good to have it out of the way after a shite week.

Well everyone is spouting the unbelievable 33 man squad pish, so I'll keep going.

Can definitely see a number going out. As per my post at the start of the week, we generally make signings on a one in one out basis, with most of this year's outs being injuries, of which we have 9, and 10 if the Vale rumor is true (and add the likes of Slattery and Nicholson on limited minutes due to injuries). Callachan, Watt, Tavares, Vale, Moses seem like candidates to go. Miller potentially for other reasons. Can't see mair hanging around with his broken hand either. Callachan, Watt, Tavares, Vale, Moses seem like candidates to go. Miller potentially for other reasons. So, out of the 33 we have, 10 aren't available, some for a considerable time. With 9 on the bench you need 20 for a matchday squad, so we're sitting at a surplus of 3 available players. Two of whom are Moses and Koutroumbis. If we want the much mooted squad of 23, then tomorrow we'd have 2 subs and making the rest up with kids. On the strikers, we signed Stuparevic, Robinson and Stama. Two of those are injured and one isn't up to scratch and was sent out on loan (whether that changes next season, who knows). Watt is clearly done, and Moses is a chaos sub at best. Tavares is injured and Vale is suspended and maybe injured too. Before we signed armstrong we had Watt, Moses and JT available. Not giving us any options on the bench. Of the three that have come in, 2 have replaced Stama and Robinson. The third suggests someone is off. Signing Stuparevic, Koutroumbis, Callachan and Tavares all seem like legit mistakes, the first two are just how it goes, the other two are plain dumb. If we sign any more forwards by Monday (unless 2 go out), I'd say logic is out of the window, but you can't always sign the players you need in the perfect order. Hopefully a midfielder that isn't a child is one of the remaining signings. Why we don't have any young players that can step up, or why we aren't using them, is it's own discussion.
-
It's hard to look for any strategy in a season where at least 8 of our signings have been to cover for injuries, or to cover for the cover. I don't believe we were going for quantity at the start of the season, but I'd rather we bring in loan players for cover than take on someone full time that could bleed into next seasons budget. We're in a good spot to clear out once this is done, and we aren't onn the hook for too much should the worst happen. However, signing permacrocks is a bad idea in any situation.

If we can get away with 12 players, we might just turn this around.
-
He was possibly involved, but the point of having Daws is continuity, so good to see that in effect.
-
Frail mentioned they're still trying to recruit.

Assistant manager somewhere I believe

Is our best chance of the manager unifying the fanbase to get someone we all hate?

I'm guessing Huguton is via bookies odds, which isnt worth much. He'd be an excellent appointment, but probably still has some better paying jobs in him yet.
