  1. Was hard to see, but the whistle went before the shot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Game wasn’t great, but not anywhere near the dross we served up against livi in both games. Had we got a point out of that I think it would have been fair, as hearts weren’t a whole lot better outside of their long throw ins. They got their goal from a half decent cross that just fell their way, then they made as many chances as us after that. Even though we put on the pressure in the last 15 minutes we didn’t make a single chance all game. Our corners were poor, and and the long balls were pretty aimless. Berra strolled it. I thought bigi was really poor when he came on, with a lot of stray passes, but we had to try something as we had zero creativity. It would be nice to have at least one player in the team on the same wavelength as Turnbull, there were times where he showed great composure and got in a position to make a pass and there was nothing on. Thought McHugh had another good game (if we have a back three he needs to be in it), and dunne got through the full game, which is a bonus. Johnson went missing in the second half, he had a half chance where he should have laid off to Gorrin, but after that he disappeared. Results went our way at least, but the bottom 4 are now isolated. 3. That could potentially be a 442 with dunne at lb, but I’m pretty sure it will be a back three of McHugh, Aldred and Dunne. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  5. That was my thinking. We are going to have to rotate the team over the next month, and I think last night was a good opportunity to use Sammon. It may also put whoever comes back in on Saturday on notice, it will be on them to put in the performance that will keep them in the team. I’d assume that Hartley will be back in for Saturday, and dunne may be ready too. I wouldn’t be surprised if bowman is rotated in for Sammon, but I think it will more likely be main. 6. As expected Celtic dominated large parts of the game, and we were lucky with that second goal being chalked off. Although we maybe deserved a little luck after losing two defenders in the first 15 minutes and losing a goal from Donnelly’s position while he was off injured. The penalty didn’t look as much of a stick on to me as it did to other folk, but compared to the pens Celtic normally get against us it was a stonewaller. Gillespie made a really good save and the follow up punch was excellent. I think we’ve seen enough to agree he was a good signing. We didn’t look like scoring, and in the main we played like a team that just got beat by livi and lost two defenders early, but we kept Celtic from making many clear chances and at 1-0 you’re always in the game and Johnson’s finish was superb. Shame that my screen froze just as he hit the shot, then I had to head to a meeting, so didn’t know how it ended up until well after! I thought Sammon did a decent job, particularly when he hasn’t had a sniff of the first team action in months, and was certainly no worse than some of the performances main and bowman have served up. Livingstone did himself no favors today, but it is still early in his career and I hope he takes the managers comments on board and comes back better. One thing in his defense is that he was probably caught cold coming on so early in a game he was only ever going to see action in if two defenders got injured. Tests like this are part and parcel of developing young players. Turnbull lost Christie for the goal, but a lot of folk have been losing Christie lately. Whether we deserved a point or not doesn’t matter, neither does the fact that Celtic were “there for the taking”, which is a myth anyway. The fact is we earned a point from a game most of us expected to be a total humping. The 4 points from the last 3 games is probably what some of us would have expected (or even hoped for), but maybe not in the order we ended up with. I’d like for us to not have to bounce back so often, but we know this season is about results and getting points wherever we can. Changing the football philosophy and half of the personnel at the club mid-season just isn’t going to happen. We budget for 10th and we’re getting what we paid for. Traditionally the teams that outperform their small budgets are the ones that avoid injuries and can field a consistent line up. It’s a sad day when some of our own fans seemed just as disappointed with our equalizer than some of the Celtic fans were. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. At the same time there is an article about how much Robinson wants Turnbull (a footballer) to sign a new deal. Turnbull must really love the club, as there is no other reason an actual ball playing midfielder would want to stay. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Based on the squads we have put out recently, the style of play/formations and the managers comments my guess is that the outgoings would be bigi and frear, and possibly Sammon if that’s a thing we can do. If I was bigi I’d be banging down the door to get a move since he’s apparently the go to scapegoat for our losses. I’d be curious to see if our loanees come back into the fold, and if we’ll loan out some more of the reserves in prep for next season. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Forced to put footballers in the team against his will, jeez. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. The well society’s purchase of the club was contingent on paying those loans, and I’m sure it was done on more than just a handshake, so just refusing to pay them isn’t going to work. If the parties involved decided to forgive them, that would be a different story, but I don’t see why they should. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. What did McInnes say about Turnbull’s goal? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. A lot of good performances today, after a shaky start where Aberdeen could have had a couple. Aberdeen’s heads went down after that first goal for some reason, and the game was done after the second. Grimshaw put in a shift at right back, and improved as the game went on, and in general it looked like we were more inclined to take the extra pass instead of just limp it. Having Bigi and Turnbull on the field at the same time helps in that regard. As others have said, Johnson is a natural goal scorer, and it looks like he’s added the extra work rate that is required and has got the rewards. Also thought main had a good game. Have to call out Gillespie on a good performance in his first start. Looked solid. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Harsh sending off, but a dumb thing to do. The highlights were a nice watch, hastie looks like a handful. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Realistically, who could we see in the first time sooner rather than later? Livingstone? Maguire? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I think whether the board decides to part ways with him would come down to how confident they are that we’ll finish 10th or above. Since we’re only a week away from beating two of the teams below us (and having a game in hand, and a surprisingly superior goal difference) I’d be surprised if the board took action right now, particularly since it costs money to sack a manager. We have St Mirren, Accies and Livingston before January, and chances to get points against Killie at home, so I could see a scenario where a decision is made at the turn of the year based on the games we’re “supposed” to get points from. I did see someone on twitter allude to Robinson offering his resignation at some point, which would surprise me even more. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. The first yellow may have been harsh, but he then goes and does the same thing seconds later and is lucky not to get a second yellow right away. That’s a pen any day of the week, but doesn’t necessarily have to be a booking, but Thomson likes doing what the OF tell him to. Either way, McHugh took the risk and paid for it. He had a similar few minutes of madness against St J. Few managers are going to take a player off just because he got booked, especially so early in the game, but in this case even if Robinson wanted to the replacement wouldn’t have been stripped in time. None of this should be an excuse for losing 7 goals, but McHugh needs to be sidelined for his recklessness. Not sure why our captain wasn’t the one doing the interview apologizing to the fans. 17. We got humped, it sucks, this shit happens sometimes when you’re us. No need to over analyze this one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. McHugh almost got sent off before the pen incident, and the pen looked pretty fair. Shame, because we deserved to be in the game st that point. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Turnbull called up to the u20s. https://www.motherwellfc.co.uk/2018/11/05/david-turnbull-gets-scotland-recognition/
  20. Club website has bowman here until 2020. Tanner is too (I thought he was 2019). I also didn’t realize Carson has until 2020, I thought he was out of contract next year and as such we’d try to move him on. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Are Aldred and Sammon’s loans for the whole season? As for the younger players, we seem to have a habit of giving them one year deals until they break into the team, then we give them a 2-year extension. We also have to factor in the possibility of Carson or Cadden going in January.
  22. If you had a game with just moussa and main on a pitch playing against each other with empty goals, neither would score. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Bowman and Main putting in the work again, mainly bowman, but both really should have scored a couple each with the chances they had. Both are terrible at heading crosses too. Turnbull’s touch is just ridiculous, and the midfield has a good balance about it right now with grimshaw and Cadden linking well. Cadden was really good again. Aldred and Hartley were rock solid today. I think having McHugh in front of them, rather than a back 3 has been effective. Special mention to Bigi throwing himself at everything towards the end there, other than one blip I thought he had one of his best game’s for us. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. My best guess, maybe not what I want, but most likely what will happen: Carson Aldred McHugh Hartley Cadden Campbell Bigi Turnbull Tait Main Bowman Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. I wouldn’t go to this game even if I lived there and it was free. It’s going to be terrible. In these situations it’s easy to go with the “tried and trusted”, which is why i see the same turgid 3-5-2 with the usual suspects in the lineup. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
