Mains agent did a good job of his Wikipedia page According to Mowbray, Main "came here on trial and trained with the youth team and you could see the power and speed he's got. His finishing with both feet is breathtaking at times. Whether the ball drops to his right foot or left foot, he doesn't hesitate. ... Physicality isn't going to be an issue for Curtis throughout his career. He's a boy who spends a lot of time looking after his physique and he's very, very strong."

In January were limited to players who have been let go for nothing, or those we can get for a very small fee. Then we also have to persuade them to come here. Our options in January are a reclamation project type, where the player has dropped the divisions or is out of favour, but has something there that we think we can bring out. Or a lower league or younger player with potential that we can get for a small fee. In the summer we have a far better chance of getting someone more established as more players will be out of contract. Regardless off the above, it is going to be rare that we bring in anyone whos the finished article, or even close, and theres always going to be the risk of a Blyth or a fletcher. Hartley seems to be the closest to a finished article that we have managed to bring in in a while, and for that one I think weve capitalized on a weird situation with blackpool.

Flow tweeted about trying to get something over the line today, so whether that happens or not, it looks like we wont be hanging about.

Always thought we were quick to bin bara.

Lasley is a stick-on to be our next manager, whenever that time comes.

Do we have he kind of money to buy players from these teams? Id like the approach if we did start bringing in players from Scottish teams, but unless they are guys not getting games, or maybe out of contract players signing pre-contracts, Im not sure how were going to pull that off.

Woooo, skippy comeback! Assuming its the promotion playoff places
-
Not sure why we would bring in a left back. Dunne is clearly first choice, with Hammell behind him, possibly Plummer and then livingstone in the u20s, and tait who can fill in on the left. On the right it seems we have tait and cadden. If we return to the back 3, we could probably do better than frear at left wing back.
-
We definitely need cover for right back, so Id expect us to bring in a right sided version of dunne - i.e. can play center back or right back. I doubt well bring in another central midfielder unless we unexpectedly lose someone. We have more numbers there than any other position, with mchugh, campbell, rose, grimshaw and bigi for central positions and cadden, frear and tanner for attacking/wide positions. Maybe a right sided winger? Id agree with two forwards being needed, Fisher and bowman are at best bench players for any other team in our division.

For a guy who says he doesnt like to single out players in public, he sure likes to single out players in public

We all like passion and fighting for the jersey, and we all hate dougie imrie, but that was stupid and a deserved red card.
-
In robbos Interview he bemoaned having to change how we play, and that weve had to use perceived ball players so that really points to bigi, as theres no one in that team who is perceive as a ball player otherwise.
-
Who can we realistically move out, and how? Fisher and bigi are on two year deals, so for them to go we need to persuade someone to take them and pay the same or more than we are in wages. The fringe players who are on 1 year deals are probably on next to nothing, so would probably be easier to move on, but wouldnt free up much wages if we did.
-
Maybe we can replace him with coyle. The run is terrible, with a couple of key injuries hardly helping. Weve found out what our fringe players are made of and know we have to bring in at least one forward and a defender. Was Martin foyle responsible for finding Moult and heneghan? Or was that the previous guy? I really dont want us to be that team that fires a manager a season, and I think it will take a few games after the break before the panic button is pushed. If were going to put this bad run on the manager, then he must also get credit for the great run before it. We do need ditch the complacency though and stop pointing to bad luck, ref decisions, and individual errors.
-
He might come out and give everyone a wave, but no chance of him being risked.
-
The recruitment done over the summer was praised, and I think overall there are some positives, but if you look at it more closely Id say that Carson and hartley, with maybe Kipre are the good signings, and the rest are pretty average or lived up to their status as backup. So I think that means if we want 3 good players in January, we need to sign 13
-
The weird thing about our current situation is that earlier in the season some of us were raving about how our goals were coming from different places (12 different goalscorers by my count). Unfortunately most of them havent scored again since that initial run. The risk with our model of bringing up players from England is that some wont fit in, and thats just something that cant be avoided. Im sure we do our homework beforehand, and Im sure the players in question assume its going to work out. However, we arent paying the kind of money that can persuade someone to persevere, especially when just about any club in England can pay more than us. Like the rest of you Im hoping the rumoured unsettled ones are the not so good players.
-
Robbos post match interview pulled no punches, saying that hes given some people chances and they havent taken them. hes obviously not impressed with fisher and possibly bowman (gave tanner some praise despite him missing 2 of our 3 chances). The only other player Id consider to be given a chance recently is big, or maybe grimshaw.
-
Tomorrow will be an interesting test for bowman, as Im sure hell be a target. Id love to see him punch one in just to keep the seethe going and maybe give him a bit of a confidence boost. Im sure tanner will play behind him, with mchugh, bigi, rose and grimshaw in the midfield and tait, hartley, Kipre and dunne at the back. Id like to see campbell back in the side but based on the managers assessment of the Dundee game I dont see him changing much, unless theres more injuries.

The manager said that the players declared themselves fit, so Id assume that if frear wasnt up for it he could have easily kept himself out of contention from the game. Hobbling around injured makes no sense, it just runs the risk of further injury. Hartley had cramp, which is different from a hamstring injury. Id agree that theres no point risking Cadden or frear until after he break (if fit). Robbo said that Carson is a case of pain management until the break, so i assume an operation is on the horizon. Just caught the highlights. That was some save at the end. -

Carson makes a couple of saves to save the point at the end. Sounded like we were dropping out of the game even before frear went off, so a point is probably the most we deserved, but we really needed to take more from this one. -

After reading the above I googled trial motherwell and found this interesting one https://m.timesofindia.com/sports/football/top-stories/dheeraj-accepts-motherwell-offer-for-trials-in-scotland/articleshow/61802963.cms

Thanks for the summary. I think it would make for a better atmosphere to have the bois near our own fans, but half the fun is ripping the opposition fans, so I dont see them going for it. So, living wage argument aside, that wages report was the same old lazy reporting weve been used to.

Yeah, were each others feeder club.
