  1. Looking forward to his third stint as manager already.
  2. Are there any other hypothetical situations that we can get pissed off about? I personally think it would be a disgrace if we sold Moult to rangers for a tenner.
  3. I've heard plenty of managers say stuff along the lines of "we'd like to bring in one more, but that will depend on moving one or two on first" or "we couldn't afford to keep so and so" As for McDonald, is there any chance we can wait till something actually happens before we all start freaking out at the club? At this point in time there seems to be no substance in the story.
  4. And, I think some of the trialists were for the u20s
  5. Maybe we're actively trying to move some players on, so it would be a good idea to have a look at the possible replacements while we can.
  6. I don't believe a word McGhee says in interviews, and a lot of the time I do t think he does either. I am sure we will see at least one outgoing, not including loans. However, if this is the squad we're stuck with I think we have enough to be in the discussion for 5th -7th, but one or two injuries could see us struggle.
  7. Rangers are keeping the ball well and we seem to be set up to hit on the break, which is a good idea since their defense is shite. Hopefully we don't end up regretting those missed chances, we should have put a couple of those away. McHugh looks decent, and chalmers isn't having a bad game. Ainsworth is doing his best to get himself an assist or two at either end if he park.
  8. The transfer fees paid for two different players doesn't really indicate who the better player is. The fee relates to age, the time left on their contract, how long is left on the contract, whether the player is in demand, and how inclined the club is to let him go.
  9. Guy on the left definitely looks taller

    Well Bois

    Awesome, that makes it canon
  11. Our physio is off to eberdeen
  12. Going from our development squad to one in England, which will have so much moire resources behind it, and getting paid a fair bit more for the trouble seems like a no brainier. Surely if you're good enough you'll make it through the ranks?
  13. I'll be right back, just getting some popcorn.
  14. He'll be a too old and inexperienced former Motherwell player who is not the WWE wrestler we were looking for.
  15. We should all go on holiday too.
  16. Is this a new thing? The majority of players a premiership club would be looking at will be pretty sure that they'll be getting paid in a couple of weeks when they sign for whoever. Negotiations also take time, so I'm sure these all go on while the guys are on holiday, then it's a case of signing the contract with whoever on their return. Making a decision that affects the next couple of years, or maybe a whole career, based on not wanting to go without pay for a couple of weeks would be silly.
  17. My guess is that we'd be happy to have the wage off our books and a fee won't be the deal breaker. I like ainsworth but he is probably getting paid too much for his limited role, and we have Dom Thomas ready to play a bigger part this year.
  18. You have to pay players when you punt them, contracts work both ways, they don't leave money on the table and they shouldn't. If we take the approach of signing everyone on long term deals on the off chance that they become a saleable asset, and paying them off if they don't, the club will be finished before the deals are up.
  19. And if we sign Moore on a three year deal and he ends up shite, what do we do?
  20. I'm sure the club is well aware of when contracts have to be offered. These are just the first three to accept, there will be other factors in when people sign such as holidays and negotiations. If anyone is signing the first offer put to them either we're idiots or they are.
  21. Not surprised by any of them, not much to read into with this at this point, I'd expect the less sexy business to be done early.
  22. Much of the transfer value is determined by how much the player has left in their contract, what they are getting paid, and the cost of development, i.e. Compensation. The value can be driven up if the player is in demand, so clubs have to bid against each other. Selling guys with a year left on their deal to the only club that wants them isn't going to generate millions. Other clubs aren't out there to do us a favour, if they are low-balling us we can always reject it, but there's more to it than that. Also, clubs dont just rely the well society q&a on periscope or quotes in the sun to know our situation, clubs do their homework.
  23. I have always disliked both sides of the OF but have tended to dislike rangers that bit more (to eleven). It may just be personal experience, but their worst seems to come across as more vile as celtic's, and they have always seemed to have the media in their pocket.
