Iam very sorry to hear this. My condolences to you and your family. -
Freudian Slip!!!!! Butcher urges Rooney to accept new deal Motherwell manager Terry Butcher says Adam Rooney risks gambling his future if he does not put pen-to-paper on a new deal that it is one of the most "substantial" in the club's history. (Record)

I understand your frustrations and I have been there in the past. However, supporting the Well was never meant to be easy. Scottish football is going through a bad patch and some teams (Hearts/Dundee Utd) are just lump it teams and this does nothing for attendances. However we can and do play better football than that it is just when it does not come off (like last night) we look disjointed. However, there is no escape you are in it for life

I hate to break up this collective depress-in. I think we have a lot to look forward to as Well fans. We have a new manager to look forward to and no doubt some new players to follow. We have some exiting young players already in the first team and others ready for breakthrough. We are in the semi final of the LC against a very poor Rangers team. We are challenging for Europe. On our day we play some of the best football in the SPL (even other fans say this). Yes Craigan is a bit hump and hope but he is an honest guy. I do agree the standard of referreeing is piss poor but this has been the case for many a year. I think this is a time to rally to the club and not walk away (I know easy for me to say up in Aberdeen) but if we do the downward cycle will continue as the club will have less cash to invest in the team.

I just saw Freddie Dindeleaux coming out the club shop!!!!

Good point, but as was said earlier loyalty in football only goes as far as an increase in salary unfortunately.

Heard from a colleague who knows a member of the youth coaching staff at Aberdeen that the players hated Leitch (I know the old "heard from a friend of a friends cousin etc!!"). He seems to have been left to do a lot of the work himself whilst MM was down in Brighton and he did not get on well with the players or Willie Miller. The deal to allow Dingus to stay after the Celtic game was that everyone had to work harder and the team needed to train more and Dingus needed to be around more. This did not happen and Leitch cancelled training last week and he seemingly got pished in the club canteen (with MM who arrived at lunch) and this led to the strangely timed sacking. Players apparently ecstatic. Could all be just Sheepymeh rumours mind you.

Malky, I would have actually included many of the players you mention but was trying to keep to an era where 50 somethings would have seen players play. MacFadden would be in any of my all time Well teams and Cooper would be too. I disagree about the average quality of players bewteen then and now and as others have said modern day players may be fitter and faster but have no where near the skill. You only have to see that in Scotland international teams when in the 60/70's and 80's we were a team to be respected. Now we are just utter p%sh and full of ordinary players. -

Ian St John - went on to be top player @ Liverpool Perter McLoy - International keeper Tam Forsyth - International player lots of caps Willie Pettigrew - International caps sold for £100k ( a lot of money back then) Joe Wark - God Dixie Deans - Internatinalist went to the Tims for money Not bad plaers at all and everyone I quoted would be in current team easily. -
Aye we are all in hiding until Gow makes his first mistake, then we will be telling you so in no uncertain terms

Shotts Well Fan replied to Tartan Copper's topic in Club Chat
Really up for this now. Leaving at 12.30 from Sheepdom. Get the carry out on way to station 21/2 hours of drinking and bullshitting on the train with the GD's and then down to JD's for a further session. We will have won the UEFA cup by the time we get to Queen Street. Majical being a Well fan on these ocassions. -
But you have been 39 for about 10 years!!!!

Welcome to East Stand Hell Estaban
-
FFS So the stuff he telt me about McGhee and Aberdeen was pish

A bit confused on the ticket front. Just bought 2 tickets for the home game in the East stand. However I could not choose where to sit. I assume that season ticket holders (rightly IMHO) will get their seat and the rest will be distributed on a First Come basis. I am worried I get a seat behind a pillar (or wose still near a moaning barsteward - hold on this is the East Stand!!!) Anybody know the scoop as the lassie on the phone was not very helpful.

I just had a pint with Estaban in the pub here in Aberdeen. Nice guy but looks like he will sign for the Sheep. He feels that Jack and Victor are moving too slow and Jack got a Gamm from his burd last week. Also Estaban felt that Dingus's long contact book will help him further his career. A bit gutted as I feel that he could have been the new Wullie P.

I had the floodlight strip when I was a wee laddie back in the early 60's. My Granny bought it for me for my birthday (1962 or 1963) out of a sports shop in Station Road in Shotts. I dont remember ever seeing them wear this (although never saw a floodlight game) and dont think it survived much beyond this.I Remember being gutted when I got it because none of my mates belived it was a real Well strip!!
