Always nervous when playing ICT for some reason. I think I'm always expecting them to finally get their revenge. That said, ICT 1-4 Well. Higgy hat-trick and Ojamaa with the other. Let's finish this season with our tails up, record points tally, Higgy on 30 goals, and set a real benchmark for other teams (and ourselves) to try and emulate over the next couple of seasons.

Totally agree with all of the above. Sure, he's made mistakes this season, as a young player is likely to do. However, I think he's shown an incredible amount of maturity in his game this year and has really stepped up to the responsibility of being our main central defender. Just look at how he did on Sunday after being booked in the first few minutes. I thought he'd be a shoe-in for a red card, but he kept his head, concentrated and still made some crunching tackles throughout the game, something a lot of more experienced players would have struggled to do.

Wasn't me (went for Higdon - the value of a goalscorer speaks for itself) but there's an argument to be made there. Not necessarily in front of the others, but Humphrey's mere presence is often enough to create chances for us. Teams are well aware of his pace and often adjust their tactics accordingly, leaving gaps for the likes of Ojamaa (and now Faddy) to exploit. Even if he doesn't kick his own arse, simply having him on the pitch is sometimes enough!

Some immense performances today. Ojamaa ran himself ragged and didn't give them any chance to settle. Humphrey tracked well, caused problems in attack, and was unlucky not to score with his deflected shot, stopped only by some superb goalkeeping by Forster. Randolph was outstanding again, with the exception of their goal, for which he was partly culpable. Definitely made up for it with some incredible saves though. The defence was solid, and Hutch especially did well to settle after his early booking. I was convinced he would get sent off, so well done to him for keeping his head and putting in a great shift. It all stemmed from two huge performances in the middle of the park, however. Hateley had a great afternoon, one of his best this season I would say. He protected the back three well, was diving into tackles and coming out with the ball, and played his role superbly. Coupled with a fantastic Captain's performance from Lasley, who harried, tackled and used the ball well, these two gave the rest of the team the confidence to go and play. Great stuff to watch, going for Lasley for MOTM. Led by example and was everywhere today.

Yes and no. Foul throws are one of those things that you see in almost ever game but referees rarely seem to give. So you can understand players being less concerned about sticking to the letter of the law. On the one hand you could say that perhaps the referee yesterday was more observant, but given the context of his overall performance I'd be more inclined to say he was officious. Not to mention some of the fouls he awarded that were completely baffling. Any mention of Ojamaa's offside? Thought he was an absolute mile on at the time, running from behind his man. Faddy's throw in attempt was hilarious though.

Remember though, that just because he's fit for games now, doesn't mean he's able to get back to a similar level of performance. Could be the injuries have hampered his development. Think of the likes of Kevin McBride, Brian McLean, even Martyn Corrigan, who were all excellent but were never the same player after coming back from serious long-term injury.

St Midden give me the fear. It's very rarely an easy game for us, just due to the way they play, getting right in about us and not letting us play our game. In saying that, my optimism is overriding my logic so I'm saying we'll win 3-1. Higdon 1st scorer.

Every time I manage to forget about Moutaouakil someone goes and dredges the memory back up. See he's at Portsmouth these days?

I imagine it's probably because The Rangers aren't in the league this year, so the 12 or so goals we usually concede to them each season are shared out amongst the other teams, therefore conceding 1 or 2 goals more often. Maybe. Great to think how many of our records we're beating under McCall, and I hope we can kick on and beat our previous goals and points records in the remaining games.

Very sad news, thoughts are with his family and friends. RIP big man.

I'm sorry, but I'm really not getting the outcry here. I appreciate there's not much of a story here, but he's not saying anything of which the Sevco scouts won't already be well aware. In some way, he's flattering out club by highlighting what we already know: we have a bunch of high quality players whose contracts run out at the end of the season. Far better things to get the rage about in my book, like the financial allocation this season.

Apparently that's Johnny Russell out for the rest of the season now, wouldn't be surprised if that scuppers their top six ambitions.
-
Only incident I remember was a point where Ojamaa went down under what looked like an unfair challenge, and Brines told him to get up. He just got his head down and kept running after that point though. Could have been something else that McCall was talking about though.

Those really show what a fantastic couple of assists Nicky Law had today. His cross for the second was absolutely inch perfect and equalled by a sublimely deft finish from Higdon. Well done to Humphrey as well for following in on Law's shot to score the first. Very similar to Higgy's from Ojamaa's shot against ICT, good to see we've got players prepared to gamble on the loose ball. Excellent stuff tonight, absolutely buzzing!
-
Gone for Nicky Law, for setting up both the goals and his general impact on the game. Could really have been any number of people tonight though, such a turnaround from Saturday. Ojamaa was absolutely tireless tonight, and he kept getting kicked and knocked down but just kept picking himself up and making a nuisance of himself. Relentless stuff from the wee man, brilliant. Faddy showed some moments of magic too, and seems to have brought that little bit of extra fire and aggression to the team that's been missing since Jennings left. Cannot wait until he's up to full speed! Great stuff from the rest though, and almost every one of them was a genuine contender for my MOTM tonight.

Randolph was the only one deserving pass marks in my opinion, as he prevented it from becoming an even more embarrassing scoreline.

Poor in all areas today. The tactics were wrong from the off, playing the ball through the air just allowed Munro and Boyd to dominate at the back. The idea was understandable, given the state of the pitch (which is shockingly bad - on a par with ours under McGhee) but it quickly became apparent that it wasn't working. On the rare occasion's that Humphrey did get free down the right, we looked dangerous but it was all too rare. Terrible defensive performance and not discounting a lack of cover from midfield, the back four should be hanging their heads tonight. Randolph looked totally exasperated as the third goal went in, and quite rightly so. Poor marking, decision making and tackling cost us dearly today. Well done to Ross County, who soaked up the pressure well and played a direct game, using the whole width of the pitch and exploiting our inability to get bodies back in number. Very poor performance for the second game in a row, and I fear for the Hearts game, as they're bound to set their stall up in exactly the same manner. I'm actually more optimistic about Celtic, as we'll at least get some opportunities on the counter.

Unfortunately got plans, so need to get back earlier. Otherwise...

Aye, just had a look. Staying with the folks in Forres this weekend and the first train back after the game isn't until after 7. Looks like it's going to have to be the car.

Well, I think he can stand on it like a boss. Agree about Hateley. He's really struggled this season, and so often seems to do the difficult part well (winning the ball, a little bit of skill etc) and then just make a complete and total arse of it. There's no doubting his commitment, he's certainly one of the few that you see throwing himself into challenges and putting himself on the line, but it's like he's lost all confidence or something. His delivery this season has been, for the most part, woeful. I'd say get Law/Hammell on corner duty and let someone else (Hammell?) take free kicks for a while. On another night, we could have been 2 up by the time they scored, as we started well. It was just one of those nights though, every time the ball broke, it landed at the feet of a United player instead of one of ours. Frustrating stuff, but we just need to draw a line under it and focus on taking the 3 points on Saturday.
-
You mean the mandatory goal that we didn't concede on Saturday?
-
Same eleven as Saturday, with Faddy to come on as an option later on. This is a tough one to call, but I think it's going to be a goal-fest. 3-2 to the Well, with Faddy scoring the winner
-
Same line up as Saturday, Carswell covered the back four pretty well, not a coincidence that Nicky Law went on to have a superb match because of the increased freedom. Faddy to come on off the bench and take Russell/Mackay-Steven to skill school.
-
Nicky Law absolutely bossed that game today, no question.

Delighted with the result today and the overall performance. While not our best of the season, we definitely looked a bit more solid at the back today, and the whole core of the team played extremely well. Higginbotham looks like a good find, was always looking for the ball and trying to take people on, and he's not afraid to have a dig. Should fill the "Murphy" role well. Not Higdon's best ever performance, but he took his goals extremely well (the second especially) and kept battling. He even started the move that led to his second goal. Overall though, the two ICT centre-halves handled him pretty well I thought. Nicky Law was the standout for me though, as he was at the heart of just about everything good today, and caused no end of trouble for Caley. Good performance, great result, and the best natural shape to the team we've had in a while!
