  1. The best thing about Moult's second on Sunday was that moment of silence where the whole stadium waited to see if it was under the bar, followed by sheer bedlam when the net rippled. It's moments like that which show why we all put ourselves through it.
  2. That's disgraceful but not entirely surprising. He was fouled. Yes, he went down theatrically, but the bottom line is that it was a foul, therefore not simulation. It's surely only simulation if he has invented the contact and tried to con the referee?
  3. A few of the best I've witnessed: - Jutkiewicz v Hibs. Incredible strike and the sheet emotion of getting back level after seeming completely out of it was incredible. - Moult yesterday. Enough said. - Fitzy Vs Hearts in 2005 semi - Clarkson's chip v Dundee Utd in the Phil O'Donnell game - For sheer emotion, Porter's equaliser in the cup game against hearts after that.

    Rangers Motm

Although it should be considered that the guy doing the ratings was Willie Miller...
  5. I think it said something about 27-1. No idea what thats in reference to however. Bit of a shit attempt to goad us I guess. Theres some beautiful irony to hearing rangers fans moaning about the ref cheating them out of decisions!
  6. What a game, never had the usual fear of them getting back into it either! Anyone know when we last beat Rangers (aye the old club) at Hampden?
  7. I wouldn't put too much stock in that as both Griffiths and Fisher are on it too.
  8. I also think some of that was due to the way our season was going. Get into a negative spiral, heads go down, nobody wants the ball, and before you know it, none of your players are capable of passing the ball ten yards. It's a bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy. The belief, determination, and work-rate in this current side are credit to Robinson though, and it's much easier to keep doing good things when you're getting the results.
  9. No, you're correct. I remember him claiming he deserved a bonus as it was his work that got us there. Absolute roaster. We also had the bold Steve Jones playing for us in that game...remember him?
  10. What time's the christening? Maybe you can wear a well top under your shirt
  11. I actually thoroughly enjoyed the first half. Not a lot of quality on display, but two teams going at it hammer and tongs. The referee wasn't great at all, but did generally try and let a lot go, which helped the pace of the game in the first 45. Disappointing to lose, as we certainly matched up to Aberdeen, but it felt like the subs killed any momentum we'd built. Why bring on Frear and then resort to lumping the ball high to Fisher, instead of getting it wide? When Frear did get on the ball, he was dangerous, and should have done better with his cut back for Tanner. We definitely missed Rose's physicality and energy, not least at throw-ins, where he always offers an option. Also, that was the worst I've seen Kipre play. Hesitant and some poor decision making. Given his size, it's hard sometimes to remember that he's very young and still learning. I'm sure he'll bounce back next week though. Still, not too disappointed, as I feel we'll not be in any bother in the league this season, so getting to a cup semi final is huge, and vindicates the decision made to snub Aberdeen's offer for Moult. I get the feeling that much like Stuart McCall's run ended with a season of playing poorly and scraping results, Aberdeen are in a similar position. They've had a couple of seasons as '"best of the rest", seen their squad dismantled, and are learning that second place doesn't really get you anywhere unless you have the finances to build on it properly. Delighted to see that Allan Campbell looks to be going from strength to strength. Huge potential there if we handle him properly.
  12. I think Frear was the right call, but we didn't use him. Just continued to lump it high.
  13. Louis Moult's interview last night just summed it up perfectly. He was so enthusiastic and passionate, and you could just see he was absolutely buzzing. Even Chris Sutton was complimentary FFS...
  14. That match and the 2-1 earlier that season were absolutely superb. We played some excellent football that season with Higdon, Ojamaa, Murphy and McFadden. In terms of attacking quality that was some team.
  15. Really strong looking bench with plenty of options. It's still really refreshing to see it...
  16. Umm, how about their second goal where he tries to fanny about with it instead of launching it into row Z? I don't totally disagree with you as I thought Dunne had a shaky start, but I think "bombscare" is a tad harsh when you consider what we witnessed last season. It was hardly Zak Jules!
  17. A key part of Robinson's philosophy is hard work and pressing the opposition. Rose is certainly doing that. He also won the ball a number of times today and made some intelligent passes, as well as always showing got thrown ins, but don't let that get in the way of your argument, steelboy. There's a reason the manager keeps starting him, even when he's been subbed in the previous match.
  18. Totally agree with this and was saying the same to some mates. Rose seems to be the choice to provide graft and pressure in midfield to establish a foothold in matches, then when the game opens up later on, Bigi (and/or Tanner, as per today) can come on and make more use of the gaps. He's not a glamorous player by any means, but provides a degree of solidity that Bigi/Tanner don't. We make take a different approach in other matches, but I'd argue that he's doing his job since the manager keeps picking him. And while we're discussing midfield players, take a bow Alan Campbell. Another assured display in the middle and he really set the bar early when he clattered McGinn and a couple of others, and was fighting for the ball at a free kick. Never looks out of control though, it's a measured aggression, backed up by some genuinely excellent tackling ability. Looks experienced beyond his years.
  19. Nowhere near as bad as the ref. Hibs players are literally throwing themselves to the ground when they lose the ball and he's calling for it every single time. Our players are fuming.
  20. No, I disagree. I didn't make the game yesterday, but on previous weeks he's covered the whole pitch and made up for a number of mistakes by McHugh, while also popping up at the other end of the park to support in attack. Nothing glamorous at all, and I'm not suggesting he's the lynchpin of the team, but I do think he's been really unfairly dismissed by a lot of our fans while doing an extremely effective job.
  21. I'm struggling to remember such a whitewash in our MOTM votes before. I missed the game for family reasons... Good to hear Campbell really took his chance today. He's looked impressive any time I've seen him, and it's nice to see Robinson recognising that with a start. Hopefully he can kick on and make the place his own.
  22. Can't make it today due to family commitments, so no doubt it will be a thumping victory for the Steelmen! A shame Frear's out but I suspect we'll have a bit too much for Killie regardless.
  23. Isn't international clearance needed for any cross-border transfer (including from England -> Scotland)?
  24. Robinson said as much in his post match interview as well, and intimated that while he was happy with the right and work ethic on display, we needed to do more on the football side. Still early days, but I'm really impressed by how he's gone about his business so far.
