Fuck's sake man,he's a bloody kid! Get a grip! He's stilllearning the game and needs to learn when to blooterit and when to pass it in. It'llcome with experience. He did well enough against Dundee... Unlucky today lads, good effort. Hateley's best game in a while and some spirited performances all round.

What can I say, it's just hard to keep a track of all the protests going about these days! Rangers vs. the above, Celtic vs. Everyone, Motherwell fans vs. positivity. I'd love us to be on better form coming in to this but at then end of the day it is a cup game and it's the old adage that anything can happen in the cup. I'm sure come Sunday morning, we'll all be right up for it.
-
I asked a Rangers supporting friend if he was going on Sunday, to which he replied "What's on Sunday"? He then stated that he would rather stay at home and watch it on the BBC. So I'm guessing they're just as apathetic (pathetic? ) as usual, it's just that there are a lot more of them to go around.
-
Similar story in Forres, where I grew up. It's all Rangers/Celtic and the occasional Aberdeen fan. Think I only knew a couple of Killie fans (random) and one semi-Hearts fan. The rest supported one of those 3 or just English teams.

Probably ducking down with the tin hats on after breaking the news about Grella. Wouldn't blame them either, after some of the shite that was thrown about on here!
-
The pitch looks bad but it doesn't seem to play that badly really. Plenty of players were passing along the deck or running with the ball and not having too much trouble.

The Sunday Mail's at it as well. Have to say I'm rather surprised as I though the ref missed a lot of decisions that should have gone our way too and Murray and McBride both got away with murder. Maybe it's just the C&A tinted specs but I didn't think they got a raw deal any more than we did.
-
Aye, I thought the same about McBride getting 2 bookings too. Murray's a complete thug and some of his challenges today were horrific. The ref seemed determined to let them walk with as much as possible today. Much better performance all round though and we're beginning to get some shape about us. Looking forward to seeing some more of Jones and Hammell down the left.
-
Hammell for me. Great delivery for both goals, plus several others in the match. Also defended well and looked so much more confident with an actual left midfielder playing in front of him. We had an outlet on the left today, something we've not had for a while and I was very encouraged by what I saw from Hammy and Jones. Cracking game from Hutch and Saunders too and Craggs had a good game as well. Couldn't do too much when he got mugged but to be fair I don't think he got a shout although he recovered well. Sutton worked his socks off again and won his fair share, just need Murphy to start feeding off his knock downs. More positive this week though and something good to build on.

Absolutely spot on. The venom in some of these posts is ridiculous.

A disappointing day to top off a disappointing last few weeks. It's unfortunate that this technicality's caused us to miss out on Grella and just compounded by the fact that the club announced the signing before it was finalised. I understand the reasoning though. If anyone else had broken the story, the same faces would be on here moaning about the club never telling the fans anything. I personally think that the amount of communication the club has with the fans is excellent, just look at how things were a couple of years ago. Now we have a media officer from these very boards and a chief executive who actively looks to engage the fans whenever possible. Motherwell aren't any worse off than most in the SPL. Sure, some have a bit more cashflow for the time being or are on better form at the moment but plenty of clubs of similar size or with similar backgrounds have had much worse fortune than ourselves. Most clubs go through good and bad spells and we've had our fair share of good the past few years. Hopefully by being prudent now, the board are at least ensuring that we have a club to support in a few years' time, better that than run it in to the ground. The thing that I'm most disillusioned with in Scottish football right now....the incessant moaning and constant pessimism. I don't want to go and watch my team on a Saturday only to spend 90 minutes listening to some dour faced sod going on about how shite all our players are and how bollocks the football is. How is that fun for either of us?
-
I can see the lineup tomorrow being: Randolph Saunders - Hutchinson - Craigan - Hammell Humphrey - Hateley - Jennings - Jones Sutton - Murphy I think getting Jones in as a natural left sider is a no-brainer but hopefully McCall won't immediately disrupt the pairing of Sutton and Murphy. They're beginning to click a little and could do with more time to build up a partnership so I wouldn't like to see Grella walk straight in to the starting line up at the expense of one of those two. if we're struggling though, then get the boy on. I always worry about playing Hibs as pretty much anything can happen so I don't want to jinx it by making a prediction.
-
Straight in his pocket my arse. It would go towards the ever increasing upkeep of our stadium and the many other expenses we have to pay. Or perhaps towards our youth development. None of us may like the fact that we don't have transfer money to spend but we've been down the road of spending money before and look where it got us. It doesn't help us compete short term but £200k would certainly help keep the club in the black and at least give us a future. Bit of a moot point though, chances of it happening are surely slim to none. Much as I rate the big guy, I don't see Rangers coming in for him.
-
100% agree. I also think Sutton's the perfect foil for a player like Murphy. He's good in the air, wins the majority of knock downs that he goes for and has an eye for goal as well. Couple that with Murph's ability to run with the ball and a bit of pace and you've got the makings of a very good strike force there.
-
Has to be the way to go for a club like ours though. We can't afford to have 2 players for every position so we need people who can adapt and play a variety of roles.
-
Only part of your post that I felt the need to comment on. While I agree that Humphrey's critical to our chances of launching a fast counter, you can't lay the blame solely on others for him not getting the ball until he's covered. I've noticed a few times this season that Humphrey's a bit like Forrest Gump...give him the ball and say "run" and he'll go for it. However, he doesn't do much to open himself up and could do with working on his awareness and positioning a bit. Too often he's been one-on-one with a defender out wide (without the ball) with someone waiting for him to move so they can play him through. If he'd learn to make the run when in that position in anticipation of the pass, rather than making the run once he's received it, I think we'd be ripping teams apart.

Wankers. I'm not one to get all worked up as we usually manage to pull off a couple of decent loans/free-signings but this season's beginning to concern me a bit. We were a bit thin on the ground anyway and have since lost Gow, Blackman and Fitzpatrick, with the possibility of losing one or two others later in the window. It's worrying that we're struggling to find any suitable replacements, even on loan - I'm assuming that clubs are starting to ask for loan fees, which we're unable to afford. It looks like we're going to have, if not now then in the summer, a situation where we're going to have to start looking to several youth players to step in and get up to speed quickly. EDIT: I hope Craggs kick's Blackman's c**t in when we head up to Pittodrie.
-
Sorry to see him go but totally understandable for both parties. I'd imagine the club didn't offer a long-term contract and he's got a chance for a longer deal and first team football. No-brainer to be honest. Good luck to the lad, hope he makes a go of it.

Surely we'd need a more fundamentalistic religion. I can safely say that I haven't seen many Buddhist bigots...

The game against Hibs has to be it for me, especially Jutkiewicz's equaliser. As our 3rd goal went in you could sense the belief in the stadium but I don't think anyone could quite have predicted the match ending in that manner. He had absolutely no right to score from that long punt up the pitch, or the weary-legged chase and the fact that he just hit it because he was too tired to run just put the icing on top. One of the most purely ecstatic moments of my 28 years following the Well.

Cheers Gaag. Got a season ticket so I don't normally pay too much attention to whether they're all-ticket or PATG. Got the old man down for xmas so need to sort him out a ticket.
-
Is it all ticket for Sunday or can you pay at the gate?
-
Brilliant interview. Well done to the lad for coming out and saying what everyone's thinking. Hope we do it!

'Flow was probably away meeting Stuart Milne's representatives out of common courtesy.

First game in 3 and a half weeks, our players were getting booted up and down the park and the ref was turning a blind eye to any Jambo wrongdoing... No wonder they didn't look up for it. Bad day, that's all. We'll pick up again.
