Not too much for him to do today. Had a hairy moment early on when he let a shot squirm free but there were plenty of lacklustre balls into the box (crosses and shots both) for him to catch that should hopefully help give him a bit of much needed confidence.
-
I would imagine, if true that he's being signed as a bit of experienced defensive cover should Craigan be out injured or we need an extra bit of experience at the back for certain games. Could be wrong though, maybe he would be our new starting right back...

Goncalves is out for Hearts today which is good news. He saved 3-1 becoming much more last time we played. According to Sky Sports, Craigan and Jutkiewicz likely to play with Ruddy and Lasley doubtful. Reckon we'll see: Fraser Saunders Craigan Reynolds Hammell O'Brien Hateley Jennings Murphy Jutkiewicz Sutton 2-1 to the good guys! Well up for this! Heading out to the pub in a while, just a short bus ride across town instead of the usual 30-odd mile drive for a Well game!

Yeah, he slipped on the half way line and from then on he never looked like getting back in position. All 3 goals were definitely contributed to, if not directly caused by the pitch.
-
I'd agree with that assessment. The referee didn't seem to know what he was doing and Brown criticised him on the radio over the Sutton/punch in the face/penalty incident, albeit in his own over-polite way. That was a shocking decision though, you could hear the slap from halfway up the Cooper. If someone stuck the nut in the goalie it would be an automatic free-kick, so why not when the goalie lamps the striker?
-
I'd reserve judgement on that until we've seen him play outfield!
-
The 2nd goal as such wasn't really his fault but the corner leading up to it was. Better marking would have sorted that one. Can't really tell about the 3rd. I sit in the Cooper so it was the other end of the pitch but it looked like the 2 defenders just dived in and got suckered by a quick turn, didn't see much to do with Fraser there although that could be down to the distance.

Didn't think we played too badly tonight. The first half definitely was a marked improvement over the last couple of games. We don't really have the cover for Craigan which is a bit of a worry, hopefully his injury isn't anything serious. Important games coming up though but if we can beat Hibs and match their results against the other 4, we're home and dry. Hibs are woeful just now whereas we've shown a bit of improvement tonight. We need to play better but it's still very much in our own hands to get 4th place. I'd be willing to bet that we'll up for revenge for tonight in a couple of weeks time.

It's good to see that the club's challenging this. Even if it doesn't get anywhere it's important that we don't do what St Mirren have done and stick our heads in the sand. The scheduling of our fixtures is really pathetic and only punishes the club for having a better than expected season.

Yeah, I think it's time to sell him. He's made it pretty clear that he's ready to move on and he wants to get what he can for the club while he can still be sold. He's done well for us and just got on with things despite any speculation. I don't begrudge him a move and the time's right to sell while we can get a decent fee. Personally I'd love to see the PSV move come through as I think he'd be more suited to the technical style of game than the physical nature of football down south. Either way though, I wish him all the best. He's done well for the club and earned himself a decent move. Once he's moved on, we can get the next youngster in, be it Saunders, Hutchinson or Page.

It's bad enough that season ticket holders are losing out due to one less home game. You'd think that it would at least be compensated by scheduling one or both home games on a Saturday at 3pm. I don't think I've ever been to a football match at 16:15 on a Sunday in my life.
-
Gutted! I was hoping for both Hearts and Hibs through here so I can spend the day getting bevvied! Oh well, saves £25 off a ticket and all that drinking money I guess!
-
Bit of an overreaction to the defeat I think. Sutton and Murphy have done just fine while Jutkiewicz was out injured and normally link up pretty well. Just unfortunate today that the quality of pass and support weren't there.
-
Craigan for me. Although he made a couple of mistakes, he more than made up for them with a number of crucial tackles and some great passes (including one that nearly set up a goal for Jennings late on). Said it all that he was the guy trying to kick start some of our attacks as the game wore on. For the short while he was on the pitch, I also though Humphrey did very well. Had we got the ball to him more often it might have been a different story.
-
Yeah, that was a fair sight. I didn't even recognise him at first, thought it was some well-dressed hobo wandering about.

Boils down to personal experience I guess. I've had all my Bukta shirts discolour over time, as have others. Could be we're just the unlucky few. Not had any bother with my new Canterbury shirt though, it's not bobbled or anything.
-
I had the same trouble with my home shirt but took it back for one of the newer ones (which now have the sponsor embedded rather than printed on) and haven't had a problem since. Bukta were just as bad for quality though. I have a couple of Bukta shirts, as do some family members and they've all lost their colour and come out in weird greenish patches all over. A shame as the 07/08 home shirt is one of my favourites and now it's all patchy and messed up.

Went for Sutton myself. Did a power of work as usual but also did a great job defensively and covered well down the left. Was unlucky to strike over the bar late on, I don't think he realised how much time he had.

The funny thing about that semi final was that Kaiser had been superb all season, totally consistent and was just getting on with things without getting all the headlines that others were. I was at the game with an Aberdeen supporting friend who had been asking about Hammell as he was linked with the sheep at the time. Even after the pass back mistake he was amazed that they were after Hammell and not Corrigan. One mistake in a superb season is hardly enough to rub out all the good work done. Ruddy's made mistakes this year but his name's still chanted at every match. Got to respectfully disagree on this one, I think Corrigan was a great player before he was seriously injured and it's such a shame he hasn't been able to finish off his career in the same form as he demonstrated for us.
-
One of my favourite Kaiser memories was actually a more recent one (in terms of his Well career). When everyone was raving about how good Shunsuke Nakamura was, Celtic came to Fir Park. The Kaiser spent the next 90 minutes with Nakamura in his back pocket and frequently ripped the pish out of him with nutmegs and the like. Such a shame to see him go but absolutely no hard feelings from this end as he had to move to keep playing. Never got the recognition his performances deserved IMO.

I'd be surprised if that were the case considering that the SPL had their own people there to ensure that the job was done properly. They were obviously satisfied at the time that everything was up to standard.
-
Mind you, watching the Man U v Villa match and Carrick can't even beat the first man either. How much did he cost again? £18M was it? Humphrey does better usually, just didn't cross too well yesterday. Understandable though when the ball's bobbling all over the shop. Other than that I thought he did well but there were others more deserving of MOTM. I don't think we missed O'Brien too much as Murphy and Humphrey took over the running. In saying that, I'd still much rather have him in the team than not.
-
Does anyone have a link to Jamie Murphy's turn on the showboat?
-
Humphrey had an off day in terms of crossing but we've seen him put good crosses in before so maybe just an off day? Read somewhere (BBC I think) that Jim O'Brien was ill.

We'd need another couple of officials if we're playing the "rebound" rule to throw the ball back over their head when it hits the "post".
