The BBC are reporting that Hearts are in for Quinn. BBC Surely he'd go for a move south before Hearts should we accept a bid? Wouldn't like to see any of Clarky, Quinn or Reynolds playing against us.

Has anyone else had a ridiculous amount of bother trying to phone for tickets for the home tie? Been trying to get through for 3 days now and keep getting the same f**king menu over and over again. "Key 2 for box office". Just cannot get through to anyone!

I hope that's meant tongue in cheek? Clarkson has busted a gut for this club year after year. Despite dips in confidence and a ridiculous amount of abuse from the stands (which he never moaned about and never reacted to - Fagan anyone?) he continued to put heart and soul into every game and has started to show in the last couple of years, the fulfillment of his potential. If there is one player to whom no Well fan should begrudge a move, it's Clarkson.

It's true but like it or not players like Quinn and Clarky are the heart and soul of our team and if we were to lose both I would really fear for our chances next season. We're short handed as it is and even replacing those 2 with 4 or 5 lesser players may not be enough. We've got a fine balancing act to perform here; selling 1 or 2 players may give us the cash injection needed to get a few new names and boost the squad. Sell too many (or the wrong players) however and we could find ourselves really struggling next season.

I think being charged £20+ to sit in that shitehole may have had something to do with it!?

Disappointed to see him go to Aberdeen as I thought he had really taken the Well to heart. Bit of a bombscare in defence, better in midfield and added some much needed bite to our team. That said, he can be replaced. Wonder if he'll get sent off against us next season?

Had a quick look at flights to Albania. Looks like you'd have to go to Tirana and the only airlines that fly from the UK are BA and Albania Air. Not going to be cheap methinks!

Just arrived at my work in the post! Nice book this year and good to see a few money off vouchers creeping back in. Interestingly there are some vouchers for special offers at the club shop etc so we might see some good deals throughout the season!

Maybe the idea was to provide a bit of cover for defence while giving the option to play Hammy in left mid?

For anyone getting a bit nervous about not yet receiving their tickets (I know I am). I phoned the ticket office this morning and was told that the last of the early bird season tickets were sent this morning first-class so that we'll have them in time for getting Europa League tickets.

I would be delighted with Lawrie Sanchez. Don't know an awful lot about his tactics but he's got a good history and can really motivate his players (NI anyone?). In saying that, I would also love to see Chris McCart back at the club, maybe not in the top seat but the job he did with the youth at 'Well was superb and it would be great to have that presence back. I was interested to read Sanchez's comments about Craigan as they mirror my own thoughts on the guy: an experienced, intelligent player who is also very underrated.

I think the reason a lot of people are worried about getting an ambitious manager is that he'll be off in a couple of years and leave us in the lurch again a la McGhee. This is the main area where McGhee failed IMO, he didn't put anything into place for the club outwith his own time. If we were to get a talented manager, looking for a good couple of years with us before moving on to bigger things I would bite your hand off...provided his planning is for the long term and he gets the team into a good position for the future, even if he won't be part of it.

Good article that, despite the fact I can't stand Tom English and the Scotsman in general. Why though, can no journalists be bothered learning that it's Klimpl, not Krimpl? Positive sounding stuff from McGhee though and hopefully he is keeping his mind on things here as suggested. Interesting to read his comments that the media are way off with both Celtic and Aberdeen jobs, makes it seem like he will be here next year after all.

My thoughts exactly, Juan. Sutton is a much better player than some give him credit for. He's not overly mobile (although he does run his ass off as much as he can) he's not got a great touch but if you get a decent ball into the box he'll be on the end of it. Cracking penalty box striker, unfortunately we just don't use him correctly at the moment. Get a left winger in and we can play proper 4-4-2 and start pinging balls across the box, then Sutton will get us plenty of goals.

Think we were the architects of our own downfall today. Backed out of too many challenges and really looked like a team just going through the motions. Some good performances from the likes of Clarky, O'Brien and Murphy, who I thought made some brilliant runs with the ball and always looked like creating something. I can't believe Malcolm got on though and I actually thought he was being subbed off for being knackered. It could be a really strange off-season for us with the possibility of a huge number of players leaving. This summer could be a real test of McGhee's ability in the transfer market.
