Scottish Premiership Motherwell V Partick Thistle Sat 19 Nov 15:00

I went on the assumption he meant the guy up the back who's about 20 fags shy of a larynx replacement. Fella sounds like a bulldog coughing up treacle. -
Sign me up to the silly club, too then. Much prefer Slack to yet another email I'll probably just delete without opening. And since we're all swinging dicks, that's coming from someone who builds email marketing systems... And as for one poster derailing threads, isn't there an ignore button? (Viewing on mobile so can't see)

It's a good start, but that'll just show you search interest, not how actual site traffic has varied over the years. I know I always visit by either typing the site's URL in or via bookmark, and I'd wager a lot of people do similar. The search interest is probably Scottish journalists looking for a story... What would be really interesting to see, and I think this would require access to the site's own logs/tracking, would be how many people overall visit the site now, and how many actually post, or just lurk. From personal experience there are a lot of times I've come on to post something, seen this place in absolute meltdown, and just thought "fuck it".

McDonald was superb today and worked his socks off. At one point in the last ten minutes or so, I just someone sprint across the pitch to close down a County defender and immediately thought it was either Maclean or Campbell, only to realise on second glance that it was McDonald. I didn't know he could move that fast! Moult had a great game too, it makes such a difference playing him up front with Skippy rather than out wide. This must continue. I thought Cadden looked a bit out of sorts in the first half, and despite a few driving runs, his delivery was very poor. He kept trying and trying though, and turned it round in the second half, which was great to see. For such a young lad, his attitude in every match puts some of the senior players to shame. Ainsworth was at his best today, and worked hard, too. Good to see him getting a goal as well, thoroughly deserved to top off an excellent performance. Special mention to McMillan as well for an assured display at left back. Okay, not the toughest game as it turned out, but he didn't look out of place at all. For me though, MOTM has to be Lee Lucas. To come back after so long out of the game, and only bit parts so far this season. He looked so calm and assured throughout the entire match, and his range of passing was impressive. If he can keep fit and play regularly, he could be a real find.

To be fair, I think that was said with tongue firmly in cheek... At least that's how I took it.

Opportunity seized. And then some. -
The idea of using transfer fees to repay Les Hutchison is interesting, but hopefully not so high a percentage that we don't see any real benefit from player sales. Whether fan ownership is sustainable, we'll need to see, but there aren't exactly a queue of potential investors lining up outside Fir Park so it may be the only option available.

That's the one that gets me. We all know how effective Moult can be when played in the middle, so why not play to his strengths? -

Let's just appoint a new manager every season. It can be like Saturday Night Live with a new guest manager each year. Sure, some will be shite but we'll have a few laughs along the way. -

Unfortunately can't make this one due to travel for work, so I'm expecting a resounding victory for the Well, naturally! -

I get what you mean, and I'm normally right there with you on the optimistic approach to our matches, but our last couple of results at Parkhead, coupled with our relative inconsistency so far this season just give me the fear. Plus the tone of all our press conferences is totally defeatist. The players and manager sound like we're going into the game expecting nothing. It's one thing for fans to talk like that, but the players need to believe they can go out and win. That's the one thing that Baraclough, while a little deluded, tried to bring in with all his "we should aim to win the league" chat. The best sportspeople have the winning mentality and go out believing they will win. Think that you're going to go out and lose, and you probably will. But I do agree with your point about being able to turn defeats into draws. I think we're definitely a bit more robust on that side of things, we just need to start clicking offensively. -

I felt that the first half was incredibly frustrating, letting Hearts have the ball and defending deep. How many times do we need to see it before it's accepted that it's just not our game? In saying that it worked well until a foul (that I thought looked dubious), a horrible goalkeeping mistake, a poor clearance, and a wicked deflection cost us the goal. Second half I actually thought we were by far the better team and it looked like only a matter of time until we scored. Typical then, that another piss poor effort by the keeper followed up by another defensive error led to the sucker punch second. What a strike though by Paterson. After that we just lost the plot. When we actually had Moult and McDonald up top together we looked dangerous. Playing the, out wide is a complete waste of their abilities. Bowman looks like he can do a job wide though, so perhaps an option for 4-4-2. Disappointing to lose Cadden, and I hope it's nothing serious. Hammell had a horrible night, as did Samson. The defence look terrified with him behind them. Surely Brill must now be given a chance? Ainsworth and McFadden both made an impact when they came on, which was good to see, and great news that McHugh is near a return. A frustrating night, but a couple of positives at least. -
He still seems to drop out of games in the second half, I presume his fitness just isn't quite there yet, but he's definitely making an impact. It's nice having a midfielder whose first instinct on receiving the ball is to turn and try to get it moving forwards. Moult needs to do more for me...

Lasley was having a superb game before he got subbed. Heneghan was outstanding with the exception of the goal. Even with that, he gets my vote, as it would have been more were it not for some of his superb positioning and timing.
-
He was outstanding today. Attacked everything in the air and made some crucial, well-timed challenges. Looks like a cracking signing.

Like others Im happy with an away point ,good tae see Moult back. -
I don't care if he's bigger than Pavarotti, anyone who scores 27 goals in a season for Motherwell is alright in my book.
-
Surely that's more to do with the fact that Hall and Cadden were deemed to be the best available players in those positions at the time, whereas the manager obviously feels none of the other youngsters are better than what we have. It's like the old adage, "if they're good enough, then they're old enough".
-
This is hardly the time! :-p

Just seen a tweet about Mike Grella. That the boy we tried to sign a few seasons ago?

Can you imagine the outrage on here?

Bob Malcolm, back to sharpen our attacking options with his exhilarating footballing style.

I absolutely hate those scumbags. As much as it pains me to say it, Joey Barton was excellent. Every time we broke away, he seemed to be there putting pressure on and snuffing out the danger. Marvin Johnson will be having nightmares about him tonight. Some poor decision making on the attack again. Not quite "missed chances", but if we can start playing a bit smarter, we'll be fine. -

I've never been a fan, but Chalmers was far from the worst player last Saturday. -
Put me down for £10, will send the money asap, cheers
