  1. Thanks Andy! The Robbo/Ainsworth thing does ring a bell actually now that you mention it but don't think I ever knew where it had started.
  2. Excuse my ignorance, can you expand on this? Some might call it luck, but I lived abroad for the Playoff season and the beginning of the following year and so was fairly out the loop on things other than what the score on a Saturday was. The only vivid memory I have from those seasons was listening to commentary of the first leg of the play-off final in an airport departure lounge. It was still 0-0 when we took off, spent the duration of the flight fearing the worst - you can only imagine the relief at turning my phone on and seeing we'd skelped them 3-1 at Ibrox!
  3. Source? Can have no complaints with him rejecting our offer if that's where he ends up!
  4. You'd rather we play youngsters not ready for regular first-team football ahead of signing a lower league player that we could potentially make a profit on down the line, but you'd take an ex-player on loan from the OF in order to keep them in the shop window for them? No to both for me.
  5. We could replace Robinson with Pep and those same people would no doubt complain that we take too long to get the ball up front.
  6. Did they not introduce a sort of regionalisation a few years ago to the early rounds, to reduce the distance teams had to travel in the early stages before prize money made it worthwhile? Seem to remember something like this talked about a few years ago, if so Wales/Northern Ireland would be quite likely I’d say.
  7. I'd fully support that. But ideally doesn't come to it.
  8. We could always just socially distance the cut-outs if this were the case.
  9. Almost certain the squirrels in Kilmarnock's badge have since died, should probably get rid.
  10. Not so sure Robbo would be up for the NI job at this moment in time. The latest promo video from the club has a mini-interview with him where he says he's missed the lads, the day to day buzz, improving players, etc. Could all be social media talk but I think he'd miss all of that if he made the move to international management at the moment. Dundee United are a more likely destination I'd say, but given current legal shenanigans I'm not sure how desirable they'd be.
  11. https://www.motherwellfc.co.uk/2020/06/18/2020-21-first-team-squad-numbers/ Do Seedorf and Turnbull's number changes seem odd to anyone else? I know a totally arbritrary thing at the end of the day but still..........
  12. Killie just signed Aaron McGowan yesterday, could mean Tait won't be joining as well.
  13. https://www.motherwellfc.co.uk/2020/06/16/young-four-sign-new-deals/ I know slightly in contradiction to my previous comment, but I wonder if Morrison removes the need for signing a 2nd choice keeper. Difficult one to balance as you want to make sure the guy on the bench is good enough to step in at short notice, but you also don't want to be paying a more senior wage for a bench warmer when one of our own youngsters could benefit from that exposure instead..
  14. We're going to have injuries and suspensions throughout the season, and that's when the youngsters come into the squad. Youngsters promoted into the first team that have yet to play a minute of first team football are not going to pushing for a starting place in their debut season - unless their initials are DT. Maguire is obviously different in that he has played in the first team and will be a bit more experienced, but how many times has he even played 45 minutes in the first team? Agree that MacIver will get more of a shot this season, as last season was his 'blooding in' season. For the rest, this is that season. I imagine that had the season not been curtailed in the way it was, we would have used some of the remaining games to start easing the young 'uns into the first team in advance of next season (so long as the race for 3rd wasn't compromised).
  15. You say that, but has there been anything official to say he's signed? Not that I'm saying he won't, just know how much shite the papers can talk.
  16. Show us the back, confirmation on hoop required.
  17. For some reason I thought all had re-signed except for Long, but don't recall ever seeing anything that said that!
  18. Additional revenue streams not to be sniffed at by clubs of our size/stature. Hopefully not as bad as Everton's Angry Birds sleeve...
  19. Haven't seen the White thing anywhere other than the odd random comment on this forum, any legit sources?
  20. I’ve not seen anything regarding a new home kit, are we getting one or will there just be a sponsor added to this years?
  21. You could be right, it was a good few years ago now. On a slightly different note, does anyone know of somewhere that one could purchase retro Motherwell tops of years gone by? I’ve a hankering now for a genuine vintage number...
  22. I’m sure I’ve bought tops from us before and had the option to not have the sponsor on.
  23. I may have remembered this incorrectly, but I seem to recall Maurice Ross discussing on the podcast some months ago how they try to set up the youth teams to mirror the senior side, so if we play with two wingers in the first team then we have a steady stream of wingers in the youth teams that will hopefully be able to transition seamlessly into the first team when they're ready. This dictates heavily the players that get retained and released each year, and I believe he may also have been bemoaning the lack of attacking/wide players that we had coming through. Again, I may have remembered that wrong. On paper Robinson has some lower level first team experience, youth international experience, is an attacking player, relatively cheap, and was only available due to another club's financial situation (as someone already highlighted, similar to MacIver who hasn't turned out too bad so far). There's plenty other things in the world to be absolutely raging about right now than the signing of one youth player over another...
  24. Agree with this summary. Found the transfer talk hard to listen to purely for personal sentimental reasons, wouldn't accuse DT of pining over the collapsed deal or touting himself about by any means.
  25. Yeah I'd say so, comes across as much quieter than a lot of the usual guests on the show but decent listen.
