  1. Pretty sure it’s not the same guy. I wonder how ‘distant’ a relative he is, that’s us signed the family of two Champions League winners in one season!
  2. From memory he terrorised Rangers in the 3-3 game, he was just unfortunate that the system change last season left him in the cold. I think we’ll see more of him this season and think he’ll score goals too.
  3. Last season Gannon won the National League with Stockport in what is his third stint with them as manager...
  4. I’ve often daydreamed about what I’d do if I suddenly became a multi-millionaire and, while the urge to throw it all on playing staff would no doubt be tempting, I think I’d rather spend money elsewhere. I’d give Fir Park a proper upgrade, subsidise ticket prizes to try and improve long-term crowd sizes (funnily enough had been thinking about this the week the club announced the free youth season ticket scheme) and then really spend big on youth development. I’m talking pumping Real Madrid 4-0 in the Champions League with a team of our own home-grown youngsters big, give us one of the best youth systems in Europe that regularly sells to football’s elite and provides season upon season of pure entertainment . That’s what I’d do.
  5. Still shite, Cambridge fans said so.
  6. If it’s a six month layoff for a preventative procedure, how serious was a potential injury in the first place?!
  7. These are my immediate thoughts. While I’d wanted him to go anywhere but Celtic, the fact that it’s due to medical reasons the impact of which none of us know is quite upsetting. Turnbull has so far acted impeccably for the club, and to see him lose his move under these circumstances can’t be easy for him. Also thinking about when he does eventually leave, what sort of position will we be in?if he’s back in a few months and smashes the second half of the season we may be able to get a higher fee. Another 6+ months in the first team may be enough to convince DT to move south (why I guess he chose Celtic over Norwich). But if he’s out until Christmas he may struggle second half and not be as hot property next summer. As has been mentioned he’ll also only have a year left by then. We may be in a position to have to sell for less than what has been agreed this summer. Lots of ifs, lots of buts.....
  8. Just been forwarded this by a Celtic supporting friend, not the most reliable of sources by any means so take it with a pinch of salt but interesting take on who is to blame here.
  9. Seems like a change in shape to 5-3-2 then.
  10. The rumour that I heard today is that it’s nothing to do with his knee but that he’s been using one of Chris Porter’s legs since Christmas.
  11. I wonder if the delayed confirmation of the transfer is the reason for the delayed announcement of our own transfers, which were seemingly imminent last week. If we were banking on the transfer fee for new players in any way then it just adds extra urgency to our side to get this sorted ASAP. I’m not inclined to negotiate with Celtic, if it actually has come to that I’d much prefer we pulled the plug and went to the ‘transfer targets - plan B’ folder today.
  12. Not the first time I’ve read/heard this in recent weeks. Sheer ignorance.
  13. No wonder there were issues with the Celtic medical, he’s had a good summer by the looks of things.
  14. In an ideal world we’d have kept DT for another season and sold for double next summer, but reality is never ideal. I don’t blame the club for taking the money, again in an ideal world we could’ve held out longer and for more but 99% of us plebs have no idea of what has gone on behind the scenes. The thing that really bothers me about this saga is that he’s away to them. When the Norwich bid came in I was probably as excited as I have been about any potential Motherwell signing. But regardless of whether he plays one game or a thousand games for Celtic, he’ll forever be known and associated as “ex-hoops midfielder”, etc, as others have previously pointed out. My rational self tells me that this is not an important thing in the big picture as DT has more than looked after the club and will always be one of our own, but until we pump them at Fir Park this season I don’t think I’ll be able to shake this feeling of being absolutely gutted.
  15. Do you know what network that is mate? Cheers.
  16. Apologies if its already been mentioned but I'm at work so having to do this on the sly and not search through all of the threads. I'm going to be in Spain at the time of the away leg, can't make it down to Valencia unfortunately but if it was on Spanish TV I could hopefully find a wee bar somewhere that could show it for me. Had a quick wee search but to no avail, anyone else know anything?
  17. Can I get a wee PM as to where "the pub" is also please?
  18. Heard a song prior to kick-off at the Rangers game there that I've not heard in ages, don't think its a new one that we've only just started playing but I only just realised how much I liked it! Its played quite close to when the teams come out the tunnel, if anyone could fire some names of songs at me that they think it could be that would be brilliant!
  19. I'm not saying the price is unreasonable considering the magnitude and importanc of the game, just that it won't do us any favours in attracting neutrals and others who don't usually go to Fir Park along to watch when really we want as large a crowd as possible.
  20. I'm predicting a really disappointing turnout for what is probably the biggest game in the club's history.
  21. I got my tickets pretty much the day they went on sale so I've not been up to Fir Park recently, but has anyone that's been up in the past few days got any idea of how sales are going? I really hope we get a similiar turn out to the Nancy game a few seasons ago, but I can see us having an attendance of under 10000 sadly. Did we not offer free tickets to school kids and their families for that game? Anyone know of anything similiar for this game? I don't know, with tickets being £20 I find it hard to believe we're going to be enticing many neutrals along to watch
  22. Anyone that hasn't yet booked but are looking to do so in the next few days mind if a young 'well fan tags along with them? Was planning on going with my dad but doesn't look like he'll be able to get time off seeing as he goes back after his holidays on the monday before the game, and although I am old enough to go myself I'd rather not!
  23. I think I can get there for about £160. That's return flights from Gatwick to Copenhagen and then return train from Copenhagen to Odense.
  24. Normally I'd of checked myself but as I said I only decided last minute and I really need to leave now. But thanks guys.
