I didn't say there was no point in trying, just not just now while the virus is not under control. There have been countless cases of the small minority being at fault for local outbreaks over the last few months, don't think anyone is saying everyone is an idiot but now isn't the time to say "fuck it, let's try it and see what happens".

It's an outside event, but it requires a sizeable number of people being funnelled in and out through confined spaces, sharing cramped facilities, etc. Also relying on fans behaving themselves and following the rules, every club has it's share of zoomers that will ruin it for the majority. As wellwell91 says, how do you control what happens before and after games, travel to and from the stadium, milling around before going in, etc? Policing and managing all of this costs money that clubs wouldn't be spending in normal times. Then the practicalities of choosing what fans get in. And say we find a solution that works for all parties, why do I need to stick to the rule of 6/2 households when there are literally hundreds of different households all at the same event sharing the same facilities? Fuck this, I'm doing my own thing because if it's okay for football then why isn't it okay for me? Playing devil's advocate here, but the point is that it's a can of worms that could exacerbate things. I know everyone has their own view on how things have been handled, but the fact is that we have rising numbers in the country just now (almost certainly linked to schools/universities being back, but not exclusively because of). Letting people back into stadiums when the death toll is slowly creeping up and you can't even go and visit your granny would not be good from either a PR or public health perspective. That isn't going to change until it is clear that we had the situation under control. Other countries having fans back in stadium may work for their situation, it doesn't mean it would work for us at the moment or that it is even the right thing to do.

That is blatantly against the rules, they'd spot we had 18 players on the pitch in no time.

Gillespie starts again in the League Cup tonight v Morecambe.

Glad to see people at the club have been listening to the outrage over the use of non-uniform masks in previous rounds.
-
I saw Robinson say that they are staying in a hotel that is currently closed and only being opened for us, so minimal contact with others there.

Possibly could be taking results from a different season into account. I hear that's all the rage when you're trying to paint a picture.

The problem is that if we value Campbell at say £1.5million, how much would his replacement cost? Our business model is well known, we aren't going to start splurging cash on new signings. I agree that quality over quantity should be the deciding factor here but can't see anyone being signed from out with the usual places.

You must be new here.

I would imagine the same line-up as today, with McGinley coming in to defence and Lamie shuffling over to the middle of the 3.

The performance was more pleasing than the result for me. We looked like we could score every time we went forward, and the only 'negative' would be that we only got the 3! You could put some of that down to Aberdeen starting slow and then tightening up as the game went on, but I enjoyed watching wee Al steamroller through the back of their midfield time and again as much as I would've enjoyed a fourth. It felt like Campbell was playing a much more disciplined roll today, and rather than just belting about the pitch for 90 minutes he sat a bit deeper and read the game in front of him really well to break up Aberdeen possession and then belt up the pitch on the counter with numbers in support. It may have been a tactical thing (especially given how tired he looked at Coleraine) but I think him playing in that deeper position really set the tone for us. Feeling slightly optimistic for Thursday night, which is probably the worst thing that could happen.

Actually don't think we had a bad performance today. Even the usual scapegoats of Grimshaw and O'Hara had good games. But Campbell was by a country mile best player on the park, dominated throughout.

Livi wanted to keep Crawford due to him being a good player, but Crawford wanted to leave Livi. They’ve come to an agreement with us to cover his wages for now, and all going to plan he’ll sign for us in January. FYI he signed for Livi the same summer Dec joined us, so this isn’t the alleged old pals act. There’s an actual player in there, he’s just not at the right team. I’ve made the above up based on a forum rumour that there’s a PCA being signed in January. To me, there’s as much (if not more) plausibility to this scenario as there is a mid-table SPL side loaning another mid-table SPL side’s below-standard player in a panic following winning in Europe/to make up numbers.

Who says Crawford isn’t good enough for Livingston? Other than people on here who probably have never seen him play.

Disagree with those questioning playing 5-3-2 against lesser opposition. If that’s the formation we’ve been playing and are going to continue playing, why not play it? I much prefer 4-3-3 personally and did think the change to that last night worked for a while. In lieu of performing wingers, I’d still be keen for us to play this with three more central strikers. Having said that, I do think getting Carroll and Donnelly into last night’s XI would make a big difference. Even Dunne, if he ever gets fit enough to play for us again, would be better than Lamie/McGinley as the left sided centre back. I can’t see us strengthening at either end of the pitch given the numbers we already have there unfortunately, but think CM reinforcements are essential. Maguire needs to be given more of a chance also, but at the same time can understand why it would be difficult to drop a young inexperienced guy into this team at the moment. To echo what others have already said, I can’t figure out what the root cause of the problem is this season. Lack of leadership maybe, lack of confidence probably, players missing, teams treating us differently, who knows, but on paper I thought we looked improved on last year at the beginning of the season. Robinson will walk away some time before he’d otherwise be sacked so talk of that happening any time soon is naive, but we need to see some more intent on the pitch going forward.

Same guy.

Using the same criteria of 'sign for free' and 'sell for free', Bigirimana was a more successful signing than both Premiership goalies combined.

Is the business model not partly about getting players that should/could be playing at a higher level, and give them a platform to put themselves in the shop window? I'd say it's working spot on in that respect.

Kipre makes debut in 3-0 West Brom win over Harrogate. Scott sets up opener for Hull away to Leeds, 1-0 halftime currently.

Aye, but Sturgeon!!!

Is he good enough for a chance? Or does he need first team experience at a lower level first?

BBC One NI is available on Sky, but not showing the game. Looks like it's website only.

Genuinely forgot that happened.

I think consistency in selection is key here. We may well be able to win with an extra attacker or two on the pitch, but I'd much rather we persevered with the formation that has now got us 2 wins on the trot and that we'll likely be playing against Aberdeen on Sunday. I don't think we'll see any changes to starting lineup personally, although would be happy to see us change it up earlier than we did on Saturday. Not holding out much hope, but if we are in some miraculous way looking comfortable it would be good to get some youngsters (Maguire, Cornelius) some game time.

If our closest rival came to us shortly after making £3-5million in transfer fees and tried to buy one of our starters to fill the gap, reckon we’d be willing to sell for anything other than a high fee?
