  1. I don't think the team would be too effective in the trenches, we're lucky if we get one shot away every 90 minutes.
  2. Nick Walsh for the County game, Don Robertson for United the midweek after.
  3. Would happily take a point, don't think we have the character within the team to get it unfortunately. I think it'll be between us and the Accies for 11th/12th.
  4. Probably employing some Bigot Brothers style paranoia here but I see that, on the back of Lennon's rant, the BBC are reporting that Derek McInnes has also raised concerns that some Clubs are failing to provide suitable changing areas that comply with Covid protocols. No names mentioned but an accompanying picture of St Johnstone players coming out of the South Stand at Fir Park. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/55753738 As I said, probably just being paranoid!
  5. Always good to see a happy face around the Club. Long back in training.
  6. Weeks behind reading this thread so apologies. The Smith and Wilson mentioned in the team could be Joe Smith, who we signed from Aberdeen (and the player in the photo is far too svelte to be him) and Paul Wilson, the ex-Celtic winger.
  7. You could be right Gullane, Long could be fully committed to the club and is trying his best despite a few injuries. However, his general demeanour on the park does him no favours. Its not just that he often looks like he'd rather be anywhere else but on the pitch during games, but his petulance hasn't helped at times either. The red card at Hamilton was the one that immediately springs to mind but a few times this season he has also given away free kicks in dangerous areas due to reckless, unnecessary challenges he has made. Again, these could have been honest attempts to win the ball but were challenges he didn't need to make and just looked like petulance at the time.
  8. Rooney was freed by Alexander at Salford last March as he wasn't in his plans, Wikipedia states he has only played twice for Solihull since. Not sure if he's had injury problems or has just struggled to get a game but could take a few games to get up to speed.
  9. We just need to hope the Club and our coaching staff can use this to motivate the players, instilling a seige mentality that will bring the dressing room together and a bit more determination on the pitch. The danger is though that it becomes another kick in the balls that demoralises the dressing room even more during what has been a bloody awful season.
  10. So we have The Graduate back, here's to you Mr Robinson ... I'll get ma coat.
  11. I see McDonald played alongside Alexander at Burnley so a link there too. Think it was mentioned the player was Scottish, I thought Rooney was Irish.
  12. Knowing our current fascination with ex-Livi players is Lawless a possibility? Unable to get a game for a Burton team that have struggled this season.
  13. Paragraph from the BBC story on this: - And, while a verdict could be announced late on Thursday, it seems more likely that the panel will take time to reach its decision, with most parties braced for a conclusion early next week https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/55610371
  14. Alexandra? Is there a story here I've missed about our new boss? 2021, so I'm not one to judge.
  15. I think Weeyin got in just in time. The BBC reporting that Lafferty has agreed to terminate his contract at Reggina. Cue the 'but he could do a job' posts.
  16. Officials in Scotland would use VAR in the same way they officiate other aspects of the game. You could have the identical 'ball to arm' situations at both ends in the space of 2 minutes, one will be deemed a penalty and the other denied. It all depends on the team involved. As usual our expert pundits will contradict themselves to justify both decisions with differing versions of what a natural silhouette is. Its the same with challenges in the box. "Kipre did touch Sinclair so it was a penalty and a red", happens in another game the same weekend and "there is a touch but not enough for him to go down". End of the day the clubs who are normally the beneficiary of the big decisions will still get them.
  17. Darren Randolph in goals for West Ham away to Jim Gannon's Stockport in the Cup. The Hammers have opened the scoring after 83 minutes.
  18. Anyone from the area seen any players hanging about the landmarks of Motherwell getting their pictures taken for the club Twitter account? Liam Kelly outside the Civic? Dolly Menga outside Mecca Bingo? Anthony Stokes outside the Police Station?
  19. My heart says avoid Wright as the way his teams at SJ played would make your eyes bleed. Head says he's the most obvious choice to ensure we're still in the top flight come August. We need someone to grab these guys by the scruff of the neck, get them organised and (hopefully) motivated .
  20. Polworth was reported to be in the cream puff early in the season as Turnbull was getting a game ahead of him. To be honest his effort when he got back in the team suggests he's never really snapped out of it. Even if he decides he finally wants to try a leg for the rest of the season I'd be more than happy to see him move on at the end of his contract this summer. Not exactly one that can be relied on when the going getting tough.
  21. The only positive I can take from watching that tonight is that I didn't have to freeze my bollocks off while watching it from the East Stand. Although to be fair if I had been then I wouldn't have had to listen to the inane shite from Jock Brown. Swings and roundabouts and all that.
  22. We better hope to feck that we don't lose those 6 points from the postponed games or we're in deep shit.
  23. Turnbull one of the U21 players who tested positive for Covid.
  24. Normally I love a Cup run but winning next week gives us yet another game in December. I'd be happy to forget the LC this season and give a few of the young guys a run out next week.
