I’m sure if you go back over a year on this board, there will be plenty examples of Johnson, Frear, etc being classed as not good enough. just because they’re scoring goals elsewhere does not make them any better than they were.
-
Some mount of revisionism in this thread over the last 24 hours...
-
If we’re ignoring the games we should be winning, can we also ignore the games we expect to be beaten in? Rangers, Celtic, Aberdeen, HBS.... If they aren’t any better, there will be plenty who will get sick into them in the same way current players are getting. What then?!?

The same posters on this forum who moan about us signing people from down south and not from Scottish teams, will be the same ones moaning about us signing someone from a Scottish club. I'm all for giving our youth a chance but what margin of error will they have in a team lacking in confidence quite badly at the moment? As soon as any mistakes are made, they’ll be savaged by the usual suspects here in no time. Crawford at least has first team games under his belt at a level neither Cornelius and Semple have so far

BT have no interest in the rights as their central deal only takes effect from The group stages of the EL. In qualifying, the home side is always in control of the sale of live rights. Coleraine will have made money from this in the same way that we made money last round.

Sure I’ve read in Q&A documents somewhere that it is only valid in UK and Ireland

Every chance that UEFA will regionalise the pots before hand so likely looking at Wales, N Ireland, Ireland and Faroes?

To allow it to be streamed, you’ve got to have proper filming and editing in place. Unsure if that will be the case unless one of the TV channels pick it up and share their footage with us. The coverage for the league games so far is filmed by an SPFL supplier and we get access to that Stream Digital package that into MFCTV

A bit more of an update from Grant on the online streaming plans during an article at the link below: https://www-nottheoldfirm-com.cdn.ampproject.org/c/s/www.nottheoldfirm.com/interview/how-to-media-and-communications-during-a-pandemic-with-motherwell-fc/amp/ Online Streaming As clubs move towards online service to get games in front of fans’ eyes, Motherwell have had to think about how they plan to do it. Clubs have taken different approaches as to how to bring a good live experience to their fanbase. A different approach. (Photo by Scott Baxter/Getty Images) Some have gone for pre-match buildup shows with special guests, Aberdeen for example having former captain Graeme Shinnie on Red TV prior to their game with Rangers. For Motherwell though they have their own thoughts on how to bring the matchday experience to the small screen. “We had a judgement call to make,” Russell said. “The money and resource we do have is put into delivering an everyday service in the level of stuff we do. When it comes to trying to have an all singing and all dancing live experience, that would mean diverting resources. “Season ticket holders enjoy it for free and we have no idea how successful pay-per-view will be. We will improve the live-streaming service, it will be like you’re watching a live game on Sky. Broadcast material. (Photo by Andrew Milligan/Pool via Getty Images) “We’ll update the commentary team. We deliberated on whether we should have a half-hour show, half-time pundits, something after the game. The money you would need to put into that is significant. For us, we want to find the balance of people are coming onto watch the game primarily. “The service will look and sound better. But in terms of a host and guest, we didn’t feel we could justify the resource and cost. We aren’t trying to short-change anyone, we would have to compromise in other areas. We run a tight ship. It’ll come on at 2:30PM, various bits of video content. We aren’t going to go down the road of a full production. “The reasons being it would be money better spent elsewhere at the club. People could turn round and expect this and that, but we would like to think people would understand why we have done that. “We will slightly enhance the matchday side of things on Twitter. And very soon, this month, there will be a, live data service on the website which will give you play-by-play updates on what’s going on.”

LIVE STREAMING ISSUES FROM RANGERS FRIENDLY 18:37 We are aware that a number of fans experienced difficulties connecting to our live streaming service on Wednesday night. Firstly, we apologise if you were unable to watch all – or part – of the match with Rangers, which was used as a fixture to test out the service. There were a combination of factors which caused some of you to be unable to get on. Firstly, the unexpected late change to the kick-off time caused issues, as resources had to be quickly redeployed to allow the stream to be able to be broadcast. This was not an easy task, but our providers did everything within their power to ensure we were able to carry the match. Planned maintenance on the streaming servers was also due to take place at 8pm and, unfortunately, this could not be immediately rescheduled, which caused some of you to be unable to get onto the live website for a spell around that time. Both of these factors were out of the ordinary and we are confident things will be smoother for our first home league match against Dundee United. If you are experiencing any problems with your username and password in trying to log in to the service, please email tvsupport@motherwellfc.co.uk as soon as possible, so that you are set up for the opening game at Fir Park.

Looks like the SPFL are (again) following English football by having sponsors on the sleeves of player’s jerseys.

There’s two different parts to this: Furlough - a scheme offered by the Government to pay 80% of wages while unable to trade. PAYE - HMRC are offering companies the opportunity to delay payment of their tax for a period. The report I read said that it would be the latter that may cause issues for clubs looking to pay a transfer fee. I don’t think anything has come out to say we’ve asked for a tax payment holiday.
-
I’ll likely have these but will need to check as they are spread about a bit!
-
First part is good but not sure how you work out the second part about the OF getting more? The payment for a live fixture was reduced from about £82,500 to around £30,000 a few years ago. This was because clubs lucky enough to be on tv once and put out were earning vastly more than teams making it through 3 or 4 rounds!

What Trust got their fingers burnt and in why way? Local amateur team associated with a former Celtic player got their Councillors in toe with them and got it thrown out on the basis that they wouldn’t have first dibs on the pitches
-
Scotland Youth international Reece McAleer attracting the interest of Leicester and West Ham. Could be another to travel the same path as McKinstry and leaving before a first team appearance.
-
Harry Hood, who I didn’t realise played with us dies aged 74. Mostly thought of as being a Celtic player but built a huge business across Lanarkshire too.
-
There is no other football this weekend until the FA Cup Final at 5pm. Surely they could relaxed the blackout period for this round of fixtures?
-
Hope you caught him before he seen red...
-
This is the guy who wasn’t afraid to clear out the deadwood left by McGhee, including binning players like Pearson, McDonald, Lasley and McManus?!
-
There was a job advert posted a couple of months ago in advance of Lewis Irons leaving for this role. It seems they have not replaced like for like there. She is one of the people who have been doing the extra filming of games this season too.
-
PSL will have control over which manufacturer they choose, subject to final club approval I’m sure. Howver, they do seem to have consistency across the different professional teams they are contracted for. Both ourselves and Hibs with Macron, with Dundee moving to the same supplier next season.
-
Big Derek Townsley doing the same when he moved to Hibs had the same folk spitting feathers!
-
What a shout this is... Johnson was done in after 75 as had ran himself into the ground. The other change was bringing an attacking player on for a defensive midfielder. Robinson has gone for it at that point and had 4 forward players on the field chasing an equaliser.
-
I’m not sure the club should have anything to do with it anyway. It’s between Robinson and the player. I’d imagine any statement would be issued via the LMA if SR is a member of that union.
