@SPLstats on twitter has us playing Celtic and County at home, ICT, St J and United away - only his prediction mind
-
are the fixtures not totally screwed because all the diddy teams have finished in the top 6? for eg - If it were to be based on who has played who already home and away, Celtic would only be playing Killie away, and the other 5 games at home? and probably for the first time since the split came into effect, no "big" teams in there to help boost the attendances and put money into the kitty - I cant see any of those teams bringing a big support to Fir Park - maybe the South Stand has been used for the last time this season! re the Scottish Cup - i was under the impression that Celtic winning it would help us too, thought they changed the rules about the runners up after the Dunfermline(?), QoS and Gretna games I thought.........if you win it, you have gained European Qualification. If Celtic win the cup and win the league - you take the higher place, which in this case is the league, as it gets you into the Champ Lge - then the European spot allocated to the Scottish Cup is then passed to the league (this never used to happen, the runners up got it) I 'think' the Scottish Cup holds a higher place than that of the league standing - therefore whoever gets this spot, enters at a later stage. Not sure how the Scottish co-efficient looks now after Scotland losing its Champ Lge place Another angle..........if it were a Motherwell v Celtic final, Celtic win the league and we finish 2nd, and they won the cup - we would be allocated the Cup place as it has a higher standing than finishing 2nd. And our 2nd place spot would go to 3rd, and 3rd would go to 4th Not sure if that is correct or I have explained it well!!!!! lol So someone feel free to correct me!

Any roads works on the way? Or need to avoid?

glad that McCall has committed for another 2 yrs we've not heard much chat this year of the budget being slashed, so hopefully what we have now is also available for next season too if we offer Higgy a new deal on similar terms, then i think he'll stay. The problem arises, as I mentioned a while back, if Daly goes to Rangers. United will come sniffing about. Thats means more money for him and he doesnt need to uproot his family (which is his main priority) I think Randz and Law are offski - too good for us, and deserve to play at a higher level I think Hateley will have his head swayed by his dad - he's been a great servant to us. Not sure he can play at a much higher level than us and for that reason, I think he'll chase the £££ while they are on offer (that may mean Rangers or going down south) I think seeing all the young boys sign on means that McCall sees some of them as a more central part of the team for the next few seasons it would be a nice send off if these players can get us that 2nd spot
-
they should personally appear on the video - mugshot of the person holding their forum name, and they should have to accept that they are fools!! the big man is exceptional and for those who cant see that or cant accept that - its time to move on! nothing he does, or any praise sent his way from any other professional player or manager - obviously wont change your mind there are plenty of people on here who should be eating a large chunk of humble pie :bad: the main one being DEWELL, I hope big Higgy sends a personal GIRUY your way
-
thats a shame - i think he has potential and although he has made some mistakes, like everyone has, i'd like to see him sign on and get a prolonged run in the team intetrestingly, if McCall is not going to offer him a new deal - he must think that Hateley is going to stay on or that Ramsden is better at full back we have to trust McCall - he sees them everyday from what Ive heard re McCall, he wants to stay, and wants to sign..........he is just seeking some assurances from the club. To what, i dont know - but it could be what was listed in the Herald story I also heard that Randolph is defo offski to an "unfancied" team in the Championship, doesnt surprise me though.........he'll be on way more money, and if he does go to said team, he will be the No 1 and it will also help with his aspirations of being the Rep Ire No 1 also - which is what he eluded to when his story was in the press............my best wishes go to him, he's been outstanding for us and definitely deserves his chance at a higher level
-
i wasnt in JDs that night, so cant comment - but i did go mental in TREFOR Park!!! (so much so i was told to calm down!) i was also in France when Faddy scored - and it wasn't just the goal, it was the march to the stadium, the party under the Eiffel Tower, the fact the ground was taken over by the Scots.......everything together made that very special but i'd still say I celebrated Marc Fitzpatrick scoring at Easter Road more than the above two.......so much so, i had tears in my eyes!!
-
what was the score in the "David Ferrare" 2nd half hat trick game??? what was the score at HT when we went down early to Hibs, and then pumped them 6-2 (McLeish first game as Hibs manager) Why do we always pump Hibs?!?!? hahaha everything is about money in this day and age, so I wouldn't trade in our continual top 6 performances for a cup win...........however, I would trade in a Scottish Cup win for a disastrous season in the SPL, where we got relegated (as long as we could manage financially) so that it stops the rot of playing the same teams over and over and over and over and over and over again. It would be nice to go to some other grounds for a change!!!

The broadcasters are the ones that matter to SPL, the SFL and the chairmen - because without them, the clubs lose money. The SPL/ SFL and the chairmen all know only too well that football fans are mugs and have blind loyalty to their team yes supports may be dwindling - but the TV money outweighs anything that fans can bring in football is just too expensive these days, i think ive said that a million times i wont be renewing, i'll be selective in what games i go to yes, i love this club and i do what i can to help and support them but that doesnt give them the right to shaft us at any given oppurtunity i used to love my saturday day outs - but the money is drying up and i now need to be selective
-
im thinking McCall is going down the same road as Houston now - does he feel he has taken us as far as he can? does he feel that with that many players leaving, the rebuilding job is going to be very difficult (maybe more cuts ahead) and it may prevent him from moving on as it could potentially damage his CV - when the last couple of years have made him a hot prospect i think he is stalling - because he knows come the summer, there will be other jobs out there. it might even be a case of, when he spoke to some of the out of contract players agents- more of them said they were leaving, rather than staying on and thats has swayed his mind he might even fancy going back down south but if nothing is announced soon, with league reconstruction, potentially no manager, half the squad leaving.........how will this affect season ticket sales and the well society?? for me - it doesnt look that promising

"Find out more about the five UK charities that have been selected below (by clicking on each link) and cast your vote in the form below." I dont see a form when i click on that link
-
they dont care - not many clubs take a decent support up there so they rely on the home support however, i do agree the prices are fecking shocking - the other side of the coin is that they will argue that they have the expense of coming down to the central belt every other week and they still pay over the odds (flawed argument as Aberdeen have a very big support in the central belt anyway)
-
hopefully he will sign on the dotted line - hes made vocal attempts to say that he wants to stay (family reasons are more important than money) and i think we might be come up against a John Sutton type scenario. If he continues to slam the goals in for the remainder of the season, then teams will no doubt be having a look. He stays in Stirling, and wants to remain there - that to me says he can play for almost every team in the SPL apart from Aberdeen and the 2 HIghland teams. However, if he hits that magical 25 goal mark - we might even see teams from down south offering him money he just cant refuse - 3 or 4 times what we are offering. He wants to stay - thats half the battle, lets offer him something now and hope its enough for him to sign
-
on TV against Celtic, i personally think we have just waved good bye to Nicky Law - great performance from him last night but what concerns me most is that this season we moaned about not replacing Jennings - we're 2nd in the league just now! But I think this player is going to be near on impossible to replace he has been outstanding for us and i think he'll be missed more than Jennings - obviously completely different players, but we have no chance of keeping him, bigger teams will come calling he's wee, he's braw
-
and then we all go to the Tallship to celebrate
-
i would argue that our best football has come when we have played Higdon and played the ball to his feet - not the long punt up the park however, i do take your point that sometimes for the good of the team and depending on who we are playing, some players need to be left out - and i would leave out Higgy for this one (although i cant see it as McCall knows his importance for defending set plays) Humphrey I would leave in! He seems to cause Izaguierre problems - but we need to play to his strengths, and get good balls in behind - too often he makes the run, the ball doesnt come and he turns and its played to feet Other than that - I agree with your team, we need to nullify Commons, Forest if he plays will roast Hammy which has been evident in the last few weeks, so ZFA to double up seems like a good plan And we need to hope that between Law, Henrik and Faddy - one of them can produce a bit of magic and make it count
-
that team has got 0-5 all over it you need to go and get your head checked
-
maybe so Buxe.................I cant argue with that, but we dont have that many fans!! Most people recognise one another - so what I am saying, is............if you see these guys (they are pretty obvious) and you don't like how they support the team - then don't sit near them. it might not be to everyone's taste - but these guys put in alot of time, money and effort to support our team and on the whole tryt to make it an enjoyable atmosphere without them - there is nothing
-
DEWELL is a CACK supporter he should probably do everyone a favour and fuck off to watch the Accies it appears he has no clue about how to play football and most weeks his patter is the same - "i'll just abuse the players so it looks as if i know what i'm talking about" why do you bother going to the games? or do you feel because you have went, that you need to share your shambolic opinion? like Haggis said, there are some folk on here who post fair and accurate comments and i tend to judge the game on what they say (if i've not made it myself) but you just frustrate me with the amount of crap that you type
-
So we've established there wasn't that many Motherwell fans in Dingwall - therefore there are plenty of seats to choose from. So if you see these guys, and you dont like how they support the team................get off your arse and sit elsewhere They may well not be everyone's cup of tea, but their efforts are appreciated by most. I don't like singling people out for criticism - but honestly some people need to have a right good look at themselves. Without these guys, our game is dead. They are the life and soul of the game
-
this is going to be a harder game than most people expect. they will sit in even though they are at home and will make it very difficult for us to break them down. McCall has already indicated that players who arent up to full speed fitness wise, wont be playing this one as the pitch is too heavy for weary legs - that may well just be him trying to throw Adams off, but who knows. i think it will be the same team as the other night - with Las coming back in and Carswell going out. (maybe ZFA for Hammy depending on how he is feeling) play like we did at Killie and we'll win - we created more than enough chances, we just lacked killer instinct in front of goal
-
how would this make any difference?? we are going to have some good games and some bad games and sometimes like last night we come up against a team that knows how to nullify us. If that is the case, then its up to the manager to change it i honestly think we and Dundee Utd are very alike, we both have very good attacking players - what dissappoiinted me most about last night was not being able to take advatage of Daly playing in defence for them - and to me, as soon as we found out Daly was playing, big Higgy should have been sacrificed but hey ho, we're Motherwell, we wont win them all and last night was just a bad night at the office all round if you want someone to control a game, and ball and shout at players to tell them what to do and where to go - then it needs to be someone who see's alot of the ball. I honestly thought there were a few positives to come out of last night if we ignore the result.
-
its got to be the same team as saturday..............with McFadden on the bench, and probably one of the younger guys losing their place on the bench cant see a big crowd tonight with it being midweek and CL football on the TV I'd love us to win, and could probably accept a draw - which would keep us 7 clear of Utd, 3 clear of ICT and 4 clear of Hibs with a game in hand!! United have goals in them, but their fans are probably sitting saying the same as us
-
totally agree could only press the "green" button once, but i would do it all day im 32 and im bored of going to the same grounds time and time again.........how must someone who is older than me feel?? clearly they are not listening to the fans - i just wish one of the "pundits" / interviewers would question them on it when they spout their shite - put them on the spot and see what they say, but they probably cant do that or they wouldnt get another interview
-
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21249184 is this not a player who could have done us a turn???
