  1. you obviously do not know anything about football - he is that bad he was our top scorer last season. The bit in bold is the only bit i agree with! and you;re last point, if all they need to do is run - why do we not sign a 100m sprinter?? i dont think the second goal is Hammells fault, if i were to point the finger at anyone, it would be Law for switching off and not following him into the box. As I mentioned before, football isnt all about pace........Gary Harkins doesnt have it, but continues to rip through us everytime. An U17 team against an Over 35 team..........the 17s have the legs, but I bet the over 35s would destroy them. You can pass a ball quicker than you can run with it Anyway - onwards and upwards, a good performance on Sunday will put the smile back on my face before heading out to Spain on Tues. Hopefully a few young lads will be given a chance on Sunday as we seem to have a few injuries. With Hutchy out of next Thursdays game, maybe Kerr will start alongside Cummins before being thrown in at the deep end in Spain. I would like to see Carswell start with Las in the middle of the park, a bit more dig.........with Law either being more advanced or put back out wide. He has ability, we just need to find the best way to utilise it SIWY
  2. Matt Jarvis being sold to West Ham for £10.75m, so we can sell Wolves Humphrey for £5m as his replacement! - We all know that Humph is better than Jarvis - Dazzer should be able to confirm this due to his close proximity to Wolverhampton!!! Get Caddis in on loan, who if my mind serves me right, played RM for Utd when he was on loan there a few years back and everyone is a winner!!!!!!!!!! :whistling:
  3. for the father in law - thanks C&A specs off, if i was a neutral......................hearts liverpool is more appealing than motherwell levante at least its available online
  4. have to agree with Jay and MJC..................give me 6 or 7000 motherwell fans who will back the team over 16000 aunts, grannies and long lost cousins who are only there for a day out finishing at 4 and heading straight to JDs - cant wait!! "up and at 'em" approach - Erwin and Higgy in there to ruffle some feathers!!!!! i dont know what tonights approach will be given what has been said recently - but tonight will be good......... lets enjoy it and hopefully we can provide the same atmosphere as the Pana game
  5. will there be any "other" coverage of the game? that may come in "visual" format?
  6. not surprising he said no - but im glad the club actually asked the question - thats all we can do if i was James McFadden, I wouldn't be signing for Motherwell! (just now) and here's my thinking............... he's a top player who used to earn £25k per week ( i dont actually know) now he may not get to play in the premiership again - but he can more than do a job for a top championship team who can pay at least £10k per week - he may not want to go there that much, but its his job and he needs to secure his familys future as much as he can if he came to Motherwell, some people are saying he is in the shop window for a bigger club.......and to an extent he is BUT - if he was to get seriously injured, he's on a short term deal with low wages and thats all he would get or IF he never performed at our club, he wouldn't get a move to another big club as they would say he cant cut it any more......and his reputation would be worse than what it is now money talks, and as much as i would like to see him sign - it aint going to happen just now - he will be looking for one last bumper contract
  7. well deserved 3 points and nice to see Jamie get two goals, thought Henrik put in a great shift - work ethic has defo improved hopefully those 2 mentioned above will be able to take confidence and give us something special on thursday night also good to see Humphrey back in the team - like him or loath him, we're a better team when he plays can take mostly positives from the game - but why can we not deal with Harkins? (everytime we play them?)
  8. anyone else making a wee holiday of this??? We're staying in Benidorm - Tues- Sat. Anyone else staying in the Levante Club Apartments? Or anyone booked flights but no hotel? My mate is looking for a wing man!! He's got his flights sorted, but is trying to get the price of room down by not having single occupancy
  9. its Friday - and tomorrow is a big day (any day is a big one when supporting the Well!!) was looking forward to going to the game with the wee man - then I had to think twice about it. £27 plus whatever it costs me to get there, isn't exactly enticing me to go (fair play to Killie though for letting in U12s for a fiver) - but £22 to see an SPL game (especially this one which is historically pants) is too much. i've just spent a fortune on trips for me and the mrs to Athens and Levante plus over £150 on tickets alone. i've not even bought my season ticket!!!! had to pay in to the St J game which I haven't had to do in about 20yrs!! there is a temptation for me to miss this one and just watch the start of the premiership! the point im trying to make above, is that currently we have a smallish fan base - and the money seems to continually come from the same small group. If we can expand that group, no matter what it takes, it should be what we are trying to achieve. Football must be made more affordable - but how can we do this without cutting ourselves short? i suggested a while ago, there should be an away season ticket - i still stand by that. I think it would be a definite attraction to alot of fans. does anyone know how many schools are actually in Motherwell?? if schools are not helping out, then what other groups can we target? local football teams??? (although you would need to hope their coach is presumably a well fan)
  10. This part was tongue in cheek, as I know the club have never even approached him about any sort of deal. We may end up with egg on our face if we offer him something and he says no, but at the same time, we'll never know unless we ask. We've signed ramsden and Kerr, and I hope they both do well, but I feel we need a wee something extra. Something to try and produce a spark. Someone mentioned Forsyth in another thread, and that got me a little excited. Off the field, are things really rosy behind the scenes? Are we making the most of our potential income? I've heard a few rumours an also first hand that the club don't appear easy to deal with when it comes sponsorship/hospitality. Surely something is better than nothing in what can b classed as hard times for everyone. And before I'm shot down for being negative, I don't particularly like slating the club I love. I want to see us prosper but when u hear certain ramblings, it does make me wonder
  11. as the title says............ what is good? what is bad? can anything be improved? i've been thinking about this for a while, but came to the forefront of my mind again today with Hearts drawing Liverpool (we now know £45 per ticket, TV companies will also be interested) an absolute cash bonanza for them and also word from Aberdeen that they have sold 14000 tickets for tomorrows game i think we will be lucky to break the 6000 mark tomorrow............ what is the latest for those who are in the Well Society? have they recieved their membership cards? do we know the latest numbers imvolved?? and lastly - why have we not signed James McFadden?!?!? anyone have any thoughts?????
  12. does this mean we might see Ramsden move into a holding midfield role? Or Hateley into midfield? or did McCall like the look of a back 5??
  13. what's your thinking behind surprising? most folk who were there cheered when he came off!!!! he's got something about him, he looks tricky, he's got pace............but he doesnt do it consistently enough and IMO, doesnt work hard enough for the team (we aint a team of super heroes, we're a team who work for each other and again IMO, doesnt do enough) from wed night only, the amount of times Ojamaa made a run into one of the channels - he never passed the ball when he should have and when he did pass it - he just stopped and never back Ojamaa up. did he ever take their left back on? did he ever try and go past him? Randy with a few saves, Ramsden looked comfy coming out of defence with the ball, Cummings looked promising and took one for the team (even though they eventually scored) but for me, Lasley again worked his socks off and had a few shots on goal there isn't an option for my true MOTM which was actually the fans - never stopped singing "lets pretend that we've just scored" "we are all Stuart McCall" well done everyone who was there
  14. apparently they had words on tues night.................. out today and maybe on wed too
  15. hahahaha that will be the goon balls that always sit there Busta every week they shout it, no matter how many times I laugh at their patheticness they certainly dont look like they have played football in their life - so im giving them the benefit of the doubt, even if they are fannies i even used Panda as a demonstration one day, put both my hands on his shoulders and told him to jump - about ten times i still dont think they got the point
  16. contrasting reports on MFC twitter
  17. going on from the shoutbox............ and without berating the club in this busy period, surely they don't want to start selling tickets tomorrow in what will already be a very busy day IF they can get them today - and they can publicise it (website / twitter / facebook) it might take a bit of heat off the staff
  18. it doesnt matter if you are at the side of the park or behind the goals - at this stadium, every seat is miles away
  19. a mixture of these quotes - its a huge stadium, but unless its full it will have an atmosphere like hampden - very poor!!!!!!! as someone else mentioned, would much rather have went to their "own" stadium i've been to the Olympic stadium and i wasnt overly impressed (from a footballing point of view) - we will be miles away from the park. will them having to "offer" us 3750 tickets, then there will be plenty of space for standing / sitting debate!!!!!!!!!!
  20. i've not bought my tickets yet!!!!!! put waaaayyy to much time and effort booking up for Athens
  21. he had a hip flexor injury he said he should be back training today
  22. anyone else thinking of making a holiday out of this?
  23. i decided that Woods was useless when he tapped in Durie's cross at Fir Park in the Cup!!!!!!! appears to have a far greater coaching career than a playing one!
