  1. What's different about a Friday night in the lead up to Christmas? How is it different from a Saturday afternoon in the lead up to Christmas? Not having a go, just curious what difference it makes...
  2. Based on the evidence so far crowds have increased slightly for games on a friday night I'm sure. Don't think it's a terrible idea as it maybe lets the people working weekends get to the game and some people can go from work, have a few pints, go to the game and still have the whole of saturday & sunday free so there could be less grief from the missus. Swings and roundabouts I suppose but you have to try something to boost interest / numbers.
  3. Can Lasley not be the anchor player? We appear to be playing with two anchor players at the moment which is causing a severe lack of creativity.
  4. Hateley is never a midfielder (except maybe in his own head)... although I would agree he's been one of our best players this season, but always at right back! Would also disagree with the statement that Jennings has been playing well, no where near his best this season and has left Lasley trying to cover for him during a few games this season. I'd take Hughes in a second and a straight swap for Jennings at the moment would improve the team in my opinion.

Pish yes... hell no. A kick in the baws is also pish, many things are but I just feel the phrase "hell and back" is a bit ridiculous in the context of a footballer with an injury.

His agent says he's "been to hell and back"?! Aye, sitting about picking up 30 grand or so a week followed by a big payoff when he left Birmingham and his only worry is whether he'll be able to kick a ball about again... sounds pretty hellish that.
  7. Any home game against the old firm I'd say Kasabian - Underdog, start it just as the players are coming out.
  8. Nonsense... surely nobody is genuinely offended by reading a post on a forum directed nowhere near them or anyone they know (admittedly I'm guessing you don't know Dazzer). Seems like mock outrage to me...
  9. So play with no wide players at all and have everything go through the middle? Not sure I like that idea, the game against rangers showed a lack of creativity as it is and not sure playing narrower would be the solution to that.
  10. From what I've seen of him he's a better player than Maurice Ross... improvement on last season's squad and doubt it'll break the bank. Pretty sure Martyn Corrigan wasn't particularly outstanding with Falkirk but he managed to do alright with us (not that I'm comparing Clancy to Corrigan in any way).
  11. Comfortable win against a rotten Clyde team but those who are saying Forbes should start, who exactly should we drop for him?! Being able to have a steady yet unspectacular game against Clyde does not erase a couple of years of being woeful...

    Clyde

I'm amazed at people going for Forbes! Granted he wasn't as bad as he is against SPL teams but that's because he's a 2nd division player and was playing against a 3rd division team... anyway, Law for me was miles ahead of anyone on that park last night.

Just noticed this there and went for Hateley. Delighted to say I am the exact opposite of Stipe, don't particularly rate Hateley but thought he was the only one who wanted the ball and tried to make something happen on Sunday while working hard all game. Hopefully he'll keep playing well and change my general opinion, just as long as he doesn't try to convince us he's a midfielder again!
  14. I would say yes... Craigan has been here since 2003 and we've had plenty seasons in there when it's not been so successful (that's forgetting his first stint at the club). We've had John Ruddy and Darren Raldolph recently, I'd say that's got more to do with the clean sheet statistics.
  15. Not really sure he is a workhorse... if so he should maybe be focusing that work on getting onside a bit more regular. Sutton was a workhorse and I think that's the problem, Higdon will never be a straight replacement for Sutton as most people hoped but I do think he'll come good and score goals for us.
  16. Bearing in mind Craigan is still at the heart of our defence I think most centre halfs would walk into the team... just my opinion right enough. Watched that legends game the other week and thought Dion Dublin would even be an improvement in there. (Maybe I'm taking that a wee bit too far)
  17. Would be delighted to see O'Brien back. Stick him on the left and move Law inside... might mean Lasley getting benched right enough. Can't see it happening though since it feels like he's the 20th ex-player to be mentioned on this thread and none of them have had any substance so far.
  18. The draw's tomorrow i'm sure... Anyway, I agree with the Airdrie away shout
  19. Stevie Woods?! You're joking surely... Bob Malcolm is the worst for me, John Davies and Michael Fraser also get a mention...
  20. Getting £3.5 million for Humphrey in Football Manager would be some achievement never ming in reality... I can only assume this rumour originated from the same guy that said we would be paying £850k for Lappin or wheatever it was!
  21. Playing one of our most talented players in his natural position?! Now that would be good...
  22. Is Robertson not away to St. Johnstone?
  23. Was McAllister not supposed to be signing for Peterhead? Something about him being better off doing that part-time and having his other (plumber?) job than he would be going full-time with someone?
  24. Remeber this Chris Erskine guy from when he played for Calderwood Blue Star... sure he played centre mid back then right enough. The guy seems to have done very well to get to the level he's at now, shame the same can't be said for my career!
  25. In that case apologies... but if we're linked with Higgins then I've already made my feelings known!
