Yep, one of the worrying / annoying things about watching us lose 3-0 to that Celtic team was thinking that Dundee Utd would have beat them quite convincingly on that showing.
-
All sellable assets so worst case scenario we'd have to sell them and have money in the bank... maintain the integrity of football and deal with it firstly as a sport rather than a business then deal with the consequences / benefits. That approach may actually see disillusioned fans becoming interested again but who'd want that?!
-
Aye but it would have happened in January if McCall hadn't left him out the team to stop it... that had nothing to do with him being gantin for many games... nothing at all.

People are obviously quick to believe Neil Doncaster and the ridiculous media scare stories, of course there would still be a deal to be done if sky / espn get out of the current deal that's on the table. Maybe wouldn't be worth £16m quid a season and instead might be £10m (random figure I'd say would be realistic) a season but a less top heavy distribution of that would lessen the blow to non-old firm teams and clubs would have to adjust budgets and get back to developing homegrown players which I'd say would be no bad thing.

These rumours remind me of the chat about Didier Agathe going to Valencia for £10m/£15m... although Agathe was about 4 times the player that Humphrey is... The only one that might have some truth in it is the Liverpool link since Dalglish has a knack of making ridiculous signings, in fact Humphrey woudn't even be his most ridiculous signing, that honour has to go to Carroll or Henderson.

The 10k supporters that you claim would be lost averaged over 19 home games works out just over 500... a number that may be lost every week anyway if people are disillusioned with the SPL being a joke league with no sporting integrity. Conversely, the lack of Rangers and potentially improved competition may mean average crowds rise by a few hundred and offset the missing Rangers support, that's even before you factor in that we have extra expenses for policing etc. for Rangers games. As for the TV money, a deal would still exist, granted on reduced terms but without Rangers the potential is there to change the voting structure and force a better deal for all the supposed 'diddy' teams to ensure a fairer split. I suppose what I'm trying to say is... GET SHOT OF THEM AND LET THEM ROT!

I think Ojamaa should and will start but if he wasn't to I'd like to think Murphy or McHugh would be given a chance rather than Daley... surely we're not regarding him as our 3rd choice striker now?!
-
Think on a Sunday it's a nightmare getting to Edinburgh... the trains from Motherwell or Bellshill won't be running so the only option is going via Glasgow. The best bet would be to get a supporters bus through, although I've already decided I'm giving this one a miss and watching on TV... it's fans like me that are ruining the game

16 appearances in 1 season before being punted due to administration... Sasa Curcic only made 5 and is being mentioned in the 'Best Motherwell Players' thread!

Having had the chance to look at the t&c's I think you should be able to spread it, however the catch is that you have to bet the full £50 before you can withdraw any winnings from the free bets. Also, as usual any winnings will be "winnings-only" so the stake for the free bets will not be returned and the free bet bonus has to be used within 30 days. As I probably lose about £50 on coupons over the month it makes sense for me, maybe not for everyone though.
-
Exactly... as I said it's win-win. (Unless of course there's some dodgy small print that I've missed...)
-
Signed up for sportingbet and stuck £50 on Rangers at 13/10, joining offer means if your 1st bet of up to £50 loses they'll refund it so win-win! Edit - Should add that I'm usually disgusted with people betting against their own team but the odds and this deal make it a sensible investment! One time only... honest.
-
Scrap that actually, he just played for them until the age of 40 and then managed lower down the leagues in England.

I'm sure Shaun Teale is / was the manager of Southport...

'rebel 10' Have Requested A Meeting Of The Spl On April 12Th
tottenmfc replied to Ocelot Groomin''s topic in Club Chat
I had a look at some of the Celtic forums for a laugh and you don't half see some utter nonsense... one of my favourites was the statement that they go along with the 75% rule for passing any changes but the number of votes each team gets depends on the number of season ticket holders! A team originally set up as a charitable organisation by a priest (which they're quick to remind us about) are now saying "there's more of us than there is of yous so shut up and do what you're told". -

I have and I suppose whether it's negative or positive depends on what you're rebelling against... however, by dubbing a group as rebels they are instantly thought of as a minority which is not the case here. Star Wars aside, more often than not the rebel side will lose, which is why I'm sure the media and the old firm will be keen to portray the 'diddy' teams as the rebels. On another note... Celtic are getting more and more ridiculous with every statement they release, this motto of "Everyone's against us, it's a conspiracy!" is being taken to extremes these days. -

This! The connotations of the word 'rebel' also tend to be more negative than positive, I'd prefer it to be 'the 10 good guys fighting the rebel 2'... that may not catch on right enough -
At the risk of this thread going off topic I have to agree that Shiels is a fud. His comments towards Ayr United after their semi-final was enough on it's own never mind the nonsense he regularly comes out with in the Record and on Sportscene. Also, he must be about the most boring guy on the planet!
-
Of course he does... surely you're not suggesting that officials should also have to comply with the rules of the game?!
-
£800 / £1k per game with no consequences for making a complete a**e of your job? Seems like a pretty sweet deal to me!
-
And he might deliver... I mean Alan Gow is much beter than Ojamaa...

I suppose there is a slight chance of being seeded although qualifying for the Champions League doesn't make any difference I don't think as it's based on the previous 5 seasons... currently our coefficient according to the Uefa website is 6.728 (190th place in the rankings) so all depends if that's enough to be seeded.
-
I appreciate that you seem to be the resident Rangers sympathiser of the forum but the point for most people isn't about "lording it over Rangers", it's about applying the laws of the game properly and maintaining some sort of sporting integrity. Any team outwith the old firm would be punted in a heartbeat if they were in the same position and if a league structure is to work at all then all teams surely must have to adhere to the same rules. Securing the future of a club that will accept being shafted time and time again by 2 clubs that are a scourge on society isn't that appealing to some folk...
-
Ye was just checking that there and it looks like all the teams get lumped together and seedings depend on the co-efficients as usual. So you're not guaranteed anything just because you drop from the Champions League.
