  1. Really? Wow that is.......even more vague than Scott Burns.
  2. Does Andy Devlin have twitter? To be fair I hadn't heard of the guy before last week but he appears to have been the first to state Sbragia knocked us back. No real reason to rule out his news this time either.
  3. Even with a manager at the helm I think our fate on Wednesday has already been sealed.
  4. Jesus I really hope that isn't true Beginning to think that the job appears attractive to the untrained eye however on closer inspection our English targets believe the risk to their reputation is too great. A team already sitting in a position that could be considered a success, albeit on a wee slide, with no money to invest next month or in the summer. After the last 3 seasons the new man wouldn't do himself any favours if we finished 8th. A top five finish would need to be achieved in order to get himself noticed. The irony here might be if we were in Aberdeen's position we may have made an appointment by now. Step up Dave Penney?
  5. Sad thing is whilst Hearts, Hibs, Dun Utd, Killie, St Mirren, St Johnstone, and Aberdeen have beaten one or both of them in the last 12 months we have taken a few hidings. 6-1, 4-1, and 4-1, to Rangers and a 4-1 to Celtic makes for poor reading. Even worse when you consider we should have done the double over Rangers at Fir Park last season. Only way I can see us beating one of them at the moment is through a MAJOR slice of good fortune.
  6. great minds and all that! If a mod can merge mine into this (Yir's was started first) that would be grand.
  7. Going along to this one but not really looking forward to it. If Hateley and Jennings are available I would go with; Randolph Hateley Craigan Reynolds Hammell Jennings Humphrey Lasley Forbes Murphy Blackman Subs: Sutton, Gow, McHugh, Fitzpatrick, Saunders, Hutchinson, Hollis A team set up to try and sneak a point. If Jennings and Hateley are out I would put Saunders in at RB and Fitzy in the holding role. I feel Gow's style of football is a 'luxury' we can't afford against the bigger teams who are more likely to punish our individual errors. Above is just my own idea. I'd be interested to see other people's opinion on how we should set up. I can see Celtic winning this one right enough. Celtic 3 Motherwell 0.
  8. Would certainly like to hear more about this. Has a familiar sound to it.

    Rangers

I sometimes get surprised with this thread when people confuse 'trying' or basic functions of their role as MOTM criteria.
  10. Dave Penney is another name being linked to the job. Certainly like the cut of McDonald's jib right enough. The following is from the BBC site; The likes of former Hibernian manager John Hughes and ex-St Mirren boss Gus MacPherson are almost certainly out of the running because of Motherwell's criteria for the job. Not that we didn't know this but always good to see.
  11. This guy McDonald meets the criteria of English league experience, unemployed, good network of contacts, and none of us could id him in an identity parade of one. Who would have thought Big Sam getting the sack could have been the catalyst for us getting our own man after all.

    Hately

Bottom line is he is a much better RB than CM.
  13. Agree with the above.....very little enjoyable about today. £22 to sit in the freezing cold watching a game of football which in no way was competitive. On top of that we have the away fans right next to us so we have to listen to their sectarian bile at the Food Kiosk, in the toilets, and whilst watching the game. Worryingly, we were surrounded by Rangers fans in the 'Motherwell Section' of the POD Stand as well. Can't comment on the East Stand obviously but it does sound terrible. I have never seen the East Stand as empty near the end of a match in a long, long, time. No wonder some folk are choosing to walk away from attending football games.
  14. Yet it still comes a a close second to having Rangers and Motherwell fans sharing the same toilet facilities in the POD Stand. An 'accident' waiting to happen. Madness....but we know why it is being done.
  15. A gubbing at the hands of Rangers shouldn't (and won't) force us to make a snap decision. However, I stand by my original point that Sutton (especially Sutton) and McCall give me the fear.
  16. Quite surprised by the positivity/optimism or perhaps it is just hope. I would take your hand off for a draw today. Sadly, I see Rangers winning this one 3-1. Murphy scoring for us.
  17. As said above Chick Young ( ) says Sbragia has turned down job and is no longer an option. Apparently Club not interested in McCall either. Goes without question that we won't have a manager for Boxing Day. I'm not even convinced we will have one for the Celtic game. Few of the BBC pundits don't believe Stubbs, Sutton, or Hartson are possibilities either. Not sure what the next step is.
  18. Stephen Craigan was on BBC Radio Scotland last night. He said the current situation was unsettling the squad, outside of training, and he hopes they have someone in soon. Pretty surprised to hear those comments so I'd expect something to happen soon. Hopefully.
  19. Hmmm not that long ago he revealed Ian McCall was to be unveiled as our new gaffer.
