Worried about losing Blackman to Aberdeen in January. Lets not kid ourselves though. He will be a Championship player, at least, next season. Gow I'm not bothered about. Craigan is entering his last six months. Lets not play the loyalty card here either and get it wrong. He is a possibilitly to bolster that slack Dons defence. Sutton is a possible target although he has fell out of Brown's plans a wee bit this year. Reynolds, Murphy, Hateley, Hammell, Lasley, Randolph, Humphrey, Ssunders I would doubt very much due to contract or better move due.

Didn't Brown tell Jim O'Brien this time last year that it was pointless leaving Motherwell to go to any team outside the OF in Scotland when he was linked to ABERDEEN!

Lets not kid ourselves here. That might be down to the fact there is fewer backdoors. 5th IIRC won't get us in Europe next season and we still have a good chance of finishing in that position.

They got us to 5th and left us in 5th. Last time I checked 4th and 3rd were still better than 5th. We finished 3rd with the manager two before Brown so yes I think we could get someone that could do a better job.

Hibs fans were raging when we got Gannon and they got Yogi. Especially when Gannon looked like Hibs new manager at one point. They have snaffled our manager twice in a year and a half. You telling me there isn't a younger manager out there that would come to us that WOULDN'T have them thinking that they could have had him instead? Course there is. They have just poached a manager they will need to replace in two years MAXIMUM no matter how successful he is. Good luck with that Aberdeen.

The best thing to do now is go out and get a manager that has the Aberdeen fans RAGING with jealousy.

That's what I thought. Common courtesy has been breached but no laws of the game that I can see. What can the SPL do about that? Nothing as far as I can see. Best to not waste time and energy on this. Getting the right management team in is all that matters now.

I'd expect an announcement in the next 24 hours that Gordon Young and Stephen Craigan are in charge of the first team and I'd like to see a recruiting process start immeadiately that sees us with a new manager in place (with a two year deal) for the start of 2011.

Sadly, it seems we will only be able to do that if we are average. Anybody half decent is off like a shot. Pretty much ANYBODY but Aberdeen. That was the worse part.

Athough AFC officials have been reported saying they want an experienced gaffer to replace McGhee, appointing septuagenarian Brown would have been a bizarre move for a club with loftier ambitions than merely escaping relegation and finishing mid-table. Brown would have no long-term future at AFC, will not be poached by a bigger club even if he does well, and will not win us the league, so AFC would have had nothing to gain from it at all.Hopefully the board will pursue an alternative route, preferably attempting to uncover the next big thing rather than 15 years ago's distinctly mediocre scraps.
