  1. Craigan live on BBC Scotland. Almost selling Brown for the job
  2. Currently on BBC Scotland. Interview with CB from today. They will reconsider the Aberdeen offer to be 'in contention' for the job, however, they haven't done it yet. The hint was that John Boyle might need to make assurances to keep them i.e. squad. According to Traynor and Young, Brown is keen, Knox isn't and they are using the situation to their advantage with regards to Motherwell.
  3. No way Adams would leave a new job at Hibs to come to us. Doubt we could afford the compensation either......especially when, imo, there are better more experienced managers out of work. EPL to (Non OF team) SPL? Don't think I'll ever see that happening. Even if it is due to a sacking. That would be some wage drop. He will get one of the good jobs in the Championship when it comes available.
  4. Yes he can. No contract equals no real legal committment. I would say the fact (as pointed out above) that the Club has now removed the 'Craig Brown Statement' shows that he is; a) away b) unsure if he is away
  5. Not a bad shout. Problem is I get the fear when I think back to Malpas. Almost put me off the 'Assistant Manager taking the step up' for life. When did Archie last manage a team?
  6. Wouldn't be so certain. Team Recruitment is their main sponsor though. Isn't it?
  7. The person (sorry I can't remember who) that stated he heard Brown met Aberdeen's representatives at his brother's office in Glasgow was spot on. Sometimes there is truth in these rumours. It would be such a dramatic, two faced, and, ridiculous turnaround in such a short period of time that he would pretty much have wiped out, for a sizable amount of our support, all the respect, warmth, and, gratitude they have for him in one go. Time will tell though. My main fear is McGhee and Leitch have a very short unemployment. IF (and it is a big if) Brown goes, I fear those two will be back with us
  8. Spend money on the squad in January or spend it on a new management team? Clever. Either way something has to give.
  9. Over cautious not to offend and praise everyone as much as possible I'd say. Can't say I ever found him pretenscious. Quick not to take responsibility at times but a mere novice in that department when compared to McGhee.
  10. Eyes now turn to Tuesday imo.
  11. Can't see Collins being interested IF we do need a new manager. Didn't he lose interest at Hibs as he felt they weren't matching his ambition and were too keen to sell players. Not sure he would fancy working with our promising squad only to lose them anytime a good bid comes in.
  12. If Brown was offered the Hibs and Aberdeen jobs (and he feels he needs to move on) then surely that decision is a no brainer. Is there a worse job in British club football than the Aberdeen one. Utterly thankless job with fans who have ridiculous expectations. Why would you want that job? Why would you want that challenge at 70?
  13. Hmmmm so he might go after all? Must admit I'm in agreement with the rest who say he isn't as 'gentlemanly' as he appears. Then I have never thought that. Remember the 'poisoned letters' to Gerry McNee, allegedly penned by himself, in an effort to get Alex Miller more responsibility for poor Scotland results? There are a few other examples but they are pretty irrelevant. All that aside I would be pretty annoyed if they left after publically knocking the job back and MFC issuing a Club Statement. If that article is to be believed then I'm a bit p'd off he is reconsidering after such a public refusal. If he does go.....so be it. At 70 years of age I'd imagine we eould be looking for a new manager sooner rather than later.
  14. Could easily postpone the game to prevent the Motherwell fans from travelling to Dundee right enough.
  15. Other way about......how did they get to Glasgow?
  16. Wee bit surprised they never waited till Friday morning for this.
  17. Didn't think they would go. Must have been their first choice. Wonder who else they will go for. Someone nit in a job I'd imagine.
  18. Would be a certain irony if Brown left us for Aberdeen. All this time some of us, me included, have been patiently waiting for the McGhee fail......and it could bring round the loss of our manager too. Would Aberdeen offer more money, do they have better training facilities, does Brown think he can take us as far as he can? Who knows. Leaving now would be a blow due to our position in the season but we have bounced back from something similar before andcwe could do it again. Still don't think it will happen though.
  19. Some Aberdeen fans are pretty convinced Brown will be their next manager. No chance.
  20. Yeah, maybe I have missed a meeting but why are "players and staff" being "educated". The problem areas appear to be very large sections of the support belonging to two well known Glasgow clubs.
  21. I'd imagine if the game is on against Hearts next Tuesday the Club could do the Calendar signing on Wednesday or even the following week. Not sure how popular the calendar would be without this event to be honest.
