    Hearts

    Sums it up for me.
  3. Old Trafford in a competitive game.
  4. 4-2 win for a very young Motherwell team.
  5. Hammell possibly back. Good news. Hateley might find himself on the bench tomorrow.
  6. 3-0 win away at Kilmarnock today
  7. Was thinking a draw would be a good result until I found about their problems at the back. Great opportunity to get three points. --------------Randolph------------ Hateley--Craigan--Saunders--Reynolds Humphrey--Jennings--Lasley--Murphy/Sutton Blackman--Sutton/Murphy Motherwell to win 2-1.
  8. The reason why I'd always go with a First DIvision team. Pretty sure we played St Mirren three times in a couple of weeks due to Cup, league, then a Cup Replay. Didn't St Mirren play Rangers 5 times last season and that was after being seprated in the split as well.
  9. From the official site; Tickets for the match are currently on sale from the Fir Park Ticket Office, priced at: Adults: £22 Over 65/Student: £14 Under 18: £12 Under 12: £7 * Fans requiring Wheelchair Accessible Area tickets should contact Jade Gallacher at the club at [/b]or telephone 01698 338068. * Hearts will also operate a pay-at-the-gate facility on the day of the match.
  10. Not the best draw but avoiding the Old Firm was the main priority. Aberdeen are too jammy. Raith then Falkirk to get to the Semi-Finals. Hope they have a collapse like Hibs did in the Scottish Cup last year.
  11. Just a guess. EK isn't exactly known for cracking weather but the rain in the last few days have been particulary bad. Showpark area can hold water at the best of times.
  12. Hopefully the usual EK rain stops or we could see this getting moved to another date.
  13. Agree about Gannon, Malky. That is why I left his name out of the second sentence. The early days were good though....apart from things starting from the keeper. Maybe Brown feels we are weaker. Maybe he feels managers have sussed us out. Either way we play differently now than we did in April etc. Not as good? Sussed out? Possibly both imo.
  14. I said good steelboy not strong. Remember the quality of the opposition we were up against. However regardless of the strength of our team they are pros and should be able to play a passing style of football. I think they can. I think they are being instructed to go route one.
  15. Not sure what you mean there steelboy. We had a good team out last night and could easily have played a different style of football and (I'm sure) get the same result. Our 'thin squad' shouldn't have a bearing on the style of football we play especially considering we only have one regular first team player (Hammell) out with injury. If we can't play a better style now then what chance have we got when winter kicks in, pitches are cutting up, first team players are out injured/suspended and so on. Imo we have been playing the long ball football a great deal more since Blackman joined us. Not that I'm blaming him but with Sutton up there as well it seems like a chosen route. If this style continues and we keep picking up points I WILL accept it. I won't be as entertained but the results will be what matters. Greater good and all that. If we don't then people with the same thoughts as myself will get that bit less from watching Motherwell at the moment. I enjoyed the football more under McGhee and Gannon more. If Brown can take us further than McGhee did with this style then go for it.
  16. Steelboy it is just the way I see it this season. The only game I have missed since we kicked off in Brechin in July was our game in Norway. I am happy with how things are going results wise but I'm certainly not being entertained. Can't think of one really great overall performance. Again, I know it is still esrly days but the amount of long balls played last night from the back four was incredible. The number of which ended up in Brechin's possession was high. I'd like to have seen bettet football against lower league opposition especially. In saying that the main thing is we are through. Just a shame we can't do it just now in a way that I believe the team are capable of playing.
  17. So we have a live Cup game on 'cooncil' tele tonight yet instead of having the draw straigh after it they have it organised at 2pm the next day. Seriously why? Agreed. Brown is getting us some good results but it is turgid stuff to watch at the moment.

    Brechin

    Page for his two goals.
  19. Aye if we win tonight a home tie versus Dunfermline as well!
  20. Looking forward to another trip to Brechin after the 3-1 friendly win there in July. Livingston beat Brechin 3-1 at Glebe Park at the weekend so hopefully a good sign. After a promising start in the Second Division, Brechin are now sitting 4th in the table. Their record is P6 W2 D3 L1. They are currently 5 points away from leaders Livingston. I expect us to go to Brechin and win. Anything else would be a TOTAL DISASTER. I'd also hope to win this tie by two clear goals but this is Motherwell we are talking about so I'd be more than happy with a 1-0 away win. The Hateley at left back experiment was worth a go but I'd be reluctant to play it again. Reynolds is a good centre half but I'd play him at LB until Hammell returns. I'd go with; Randolph Hateley Craigan Saunders Reynolds Humphrey Forbes Jennings Gow Blackman Murphy I think Gow should get close to or the full 90 minutes to help with his fitness and to see what he could offer the team in a competitive match. I think Sutton needs a 'rest' as he hasn't been playing too well recently. I'd also give Lasley a place on the bench but that is only to keep him fresh for Hearts at the weekend. I think we will prove too strong for Brechin over the 90 minutes. I hope so anyway as I have work at 7am the next day and don't fancy ET or the lottery of penalty kicks. 3-0 Motherwell and a place in the Quarter Final Draw.......whenever that is.
