I believe that is called 'nervous tension'. I'm expectimg more of the same tonight.
-
Whilst I don't think we will get 'gubbed' tonight I'm in agreement. To be confident of beating any of the seeded teams who will be in the pot tomorrow is naive at best.
-
Where did you hear this? Major blow to them if true?
-
So Brown didn't fancy him or Accies have a bigger budget than us. I really hope it's the former.
-
One minute we have a budget for at least a striker now we are looking at trialists with apparently no money to sign them. Either Broon's age is catching up with him, he is playing mind games (although not wise leaking this info to fans if not true) or the financial goalposts are getting shifted quite frequently. Either way he seems fed up. I think we are lucky to have him. If he feels at anytimevhe is fighting a losing battle or if we get off to a bad start with still no sign of investmemt in the squad I think he could walk.

He certainly sounds a bit deflated on that interview. I'm hoping it is just a bit of media talk etc., although I share a couple of the thoughts above. Makes you wonder after all this talk of Killie's financial woes whether they still have a bigger player's budget than us this year? Again.

That's better than what Hamilton Accies bring

Fir Park has a capacity of 13,000+. Say minus 2,000 due to loss of 'bucket' seats. Approx 3,000-3,500 ST holders, tops (being very generous here). 150 went to Iceland. 91 or so to Norway. Possibly an overlap there as well. The away team only get 5% allocation. Even if they got the whole of the Cooper Stand that would leave the Main, East, and South Stand to accomodate the above. By my rough calculations there could be about 4,000-5,000 seats on general sale. I'm sure under those circumstances if you REALLY wanted a ticket you would get one.

It is a long standing debate and one that will never be fully resolved. I understand the frustrations of being a 'shift worker' and it not being a viable option to purchase a ST. I also have experience of being a ST holder and actually losing out due to £5 games, family discounts, so on and so forth. Having been on both sides of the ST divide (and having sweated over a CIS Cup Final ticket due to 'only' being a PATG customer) I'm still in agreement with Big Stall on this one. Call it a 'perk' of the book (and there isn't many left) but if you make a healthy financial investment to the club for a season then they should look to invest in some way in you. This is the best way to do it. 1 ticket per book though. Don't agree with ST holders being able to snap up 4 at at time like Fulham foolishly did for the Europa League Final.

...............ok without us taking a sair wan

Would also make the ST that wee bit more redundant.

I was one person who was far from impressed by O'Brien in the July - December 2008 period. After that, and especially last season, I thought he was one of our better, more creative, and reliable players. Where Humphrey falls down (so to speak) imo is he appears to be the exact same player now than he was this time last year i.e. not developed like O'Brien did. As O'Brien is our most recent example, fans (and I include myself) expect to see a similar development in Humphrey. Even if it is at a slower pace, some development would be good. I just don't see any improvement and I am convinced that Brown playing him at RB in friendlies (when he is getting run outs for the first team as well) is not the best of signs with regards to the gaffers opinion on him being a step in replacement for O'Brien. O'Brien might not have been everybody's fave but out of Lukas, Ruddy, Coke, and, even Hateley to an extent, he was the first to get snapped up with more than one club north and south of the border sniffing about. Shows how far he DID develop with us. I hope in 18 months time Humphrey signs a similar contract with a Championship club as that will mean he developed and became as good a player under us too.
-
I'm not convinced Liverpool or Man City would play all of their their first choice eleven against us either. I could see the likes of Gerard/Torres and a whole host of City players not even if we make the journey. Glamourous for us? Without a doubt. For the neutral? Not too sure.

3-2 Motherwell and into the draw for the play off round on Friday! Fingers crossed anyway.
-
What time as I might head along?
-
Would you be prepared to admit Broon is a wee bit mair qualified and by watching him just about every day in training he will be playing in these friendlies for a reason? Maybe CH has no objections to it himself, seemed happy enough at Bathgate, as it can only develop him as a player or prove he isn't up to Brown's standards? Surely he could only complain about his situation if he was outstanding in friendlies (when in fact he was quite poor in the first 45 mins against Bathgate) and not getting a chance in the first team?
-
I was under the impression from previous posts that you were bringing a bigger support to Motherwell than we took to Norway?
-
I bought mine day after 6-6 game. Popped in about two weeks ago and was told that people who have opted to pay by installments were getting theirs first. No dramas there but just wondered whether anyone else who paid up front were still waiting? Will give them a phone tomorrow.
-
Still waiting for mine. I take it I'm not alone here?
-
Aye name your source postie.....and it better no be Esteban Casagolda or Esteban Casagolda's agent!
-
Glad to hear we have a winger on trial jonny, but IMO we need a striker long before another defender signs. Defence is an area I think we have fairly good coverage in at the moment.
-
Well tartan I can't give him a run in the team at any position but if I was in charge of team selection I would have Saunders or Hateley in that role before him. Just my opinion mind. Should we read more into it that Brown is looking at him in another position when we are so short of players for the position he specialises in? Maybe. Maybe not. Time will tell how he fits into the team. Motherwell, Fitzy played in a more attacking role today but certainly covered the park. Whether it was down to his experience I'm not sure but he looked confident and composed.
